To Lin Yu, this round's answer wasn't particularly difficult.
The question asked, Why did Tang San break the law of the God Realm, descend to the Douluo Continent, attempt to kill Xu Yunhan, and threaten Juzi to return the Star Luo Empire?
This overarching question contained two smaller, key questions:
First, Why did Tang San break the law, descend to the Douluo Continent, and try to kill Xu Yunhan? And second, Why did Tang San threaten Juzi to return the Star Luo Empire?
The former, on the surface, seemed straightforward: Juzi revealed the truth about Xu Yunhan's parentage despite Tang San's prior warning, forcing him to descend and try to kill the child.
But the situation was more complicated.
For starters, Tang San must have known that Juzi had taken Huo Yuhao's seed. Based on how he behaved throughout Peerless Tang Sect, it's unlikely he was unaware. Yet, he didn't stop it.
If his reason for not intervening was that the rules of the God Realm prevented him from meddling with the Douluo Continent, that would make sense—at least, until he broke those very rules, descended to the continent, and tried to kill Xu Yunhan.
His actions were contradictory as if he was constantly undermining himself.
To Lin Yu, Tang San was nothing more than a self-serving hypocrite. Everything that happened in the broadcast wasn't some sudden decision on Tang San's part—it had to have been carefully planned, or at least heavily premeditated.
If Lin Yu was right, then all of Tang San's actions likely revolved around one core motivation, something that connected everything he did.
Finding the answer required understanding the benefit Tang San was after.
In the first Douluo Dalu era, by becoming the Sea God, Tang San amassed the faith of countless sea soul masters and sea soul beasts.
Tang San also founded the Tang Sect and left an indelible mark on Shrek Academy. So, between the events of the first Douluo Dalu series and the start of the Peerless Tang Sect, his reputation had spread across the entire Douluo Continent, securing him the faith of countless beings.
This likely contributed to Tang San's rapid rise to power in the God Realm, enabling him to go toe-to-toe with the God of Destruction.
If the faith of the people from the Douluo Continent helped Tang San become stronger, his motivation in all of this became clear—he was protecting his source of power.
Everyone knew that by the time of the Peerless Tang Sect, soul tool technology had advanced considerably, with the Sun-Moon Empire spearheading its development.
Unlike Douluo's nations, the Sun-Moon Empire did not worship Tang San.
So, if the Sun-Moon Empire were to unify Douluo, they would eventually set their sights on the boundless seas and, later, conquer the entire planet. Once that happened, Tang San's hold over the Douluo Continent's faith would be broken.
If Tang San's power was fueled by that faith, there's no way he would let such a scenario unfold. It would explain why he ultimately threatened Juzi—it was all about preserving his power and influence.
Working backward from this conclusion, everything falls into place.
First, why did Tang San allow Xu Yunhan's conception in the first place?
In Lin Yu's view, Tang San needed to give Juzi a weakness, a vulnerability he could exploit. During the Peerless Tang Sect, the God of Destruction was still around, so Tang San couldn't do whatever he wanted in the God Realm. Even though Tang San was the God of Law, he couldn't go too far. The God of Destruction had always viewed him with suspicion, and if Tang San committed serious offenses, the God of Destruction would seize the chance to act against him.
From the God Realm's perspective, humanity's internal affairs were not of great concern. The God Realm's only vested interest in the Douluo Continent was preventing the rise of soul beasts due to the damage they had caused in the past. Humanity's future was irrelevant to them, and the God Realm governed countless other worlds besides Douluo.
In this context, Tang San might not have been able to truly harm Juzi or Xu Yunhan, especially Juzi.
Allowing Xu Yunhan to be born gave Tang San leverage over Juzi. Without that weakness, Juzi's quest for revenge could proceed unchecked. Even though Huo Yuhao could overpower the Sun-Moon Empire's strongest, Juzi could always threaten to massacre the entire Douluo Continent.
And if Juzi did order a massacre, it would greatly diminish Tang San's influence over the continent.
By letting Xu Yunhan live, Tang San ensured he could manipulate Juzi—just as he manipulated his daughter, Tang Wutong, to interfere with Huo Yuhao's fate.
Although Tang San couldn't directly interfere with the Douluo Continent by, for instance, killing key figures, he could act through intermediaries like Tang Wutong and rely on blackmail and manipulation.
In Lin Yu's opinion, without Tang San's interference, the course of history in the Peerless Tang Sect might have looked very different. Huo Yuhao might have ended up with Juzi.
While Juzi and Huo Yuhao did have personal grudges, under the guidance of the Necromancer Electrolux, Huo Yuhao's talents far surpassed Tang San's. Huo Yuhao would have likely gained the ability to resurrect Juzi's parents, enabling her to put her vendetta aside.
In that alternate future, the Sun-Moon and Douluo continents could have merged, ushering in an era of exploration and expansion, transitioning from a continental civilization to a planetary one. With the rapid advancement of soul tool technology, they might have even advanced into the age of interstellar exploration.
But due to Tang San's meddling, Huo Yuhao's immense potential was stifled. He was kept on a leash, becoming nothing more than a pawn of the Tang family.
And frankly, Lin Yu couldn't understand why Huo Yuhao was so submissive.
Tang Wutong was never even the real Wang Dong'er—this was all Tang San's plot. Electrolux, Huo Yuhao's mentor, was murdered by Tang San, yet Huo Yuhao still willingly became his son-in-law.
Lin Yu had no words to express his disbelief.
With all this in mind, the answer to the question was obvious.
Tang San descended to the Douluo Continent, broke the law, tried to kill Xu Yunhan, and threatened Juzi to return the Star Luo Empire all for one reason: to stop Juzi from unifying Douluo and to preserve his hold over the continent's faith.
By allowing Xu Yunhan's existence, Tang San gave Juzi a weakness. Without it, he'd have no way to control her.
Given the God of Destruction's presence in the God Realm, Tang San couldn't openly harm Juzi.
If Juzi had successfully unified Douluo, she would have threatened Tang San's grip on its faith. And without that faith, Tang San's influence would gradually wither.
