Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

After Edward sent Miles Andrus and the other students back to the classroom, he turned around and headed for his office.

It couldn't be helped that after playing basketball with them for so long, the class was already almost over. Despite the delay it caused, he couldn't help but smile. The students had enjoyed themselves, and that, after all, was worth the lost time. The energy and camaraderie he'd seen on the court were reminders of why he enjoyed teaching so much.

He didn't tell Miles and the other students in advance about him becoming their homeroom teacher, he thought that it would be a little better to announce it during the evening study hall.

"Ding Dong."

As expected, Edward hadn't gone out far before the dismissal bell had already rung.

Edward shook his head, he started to walk toward his next class.

"Mr. Edward."

Suddenly, a call came from behind Edward.

He turned his head to see that a middle-aged man with a shiny head was walking out of the school building and called out to him.

Harry Daves, the dean of grade 11.

Edward stopped in his tracks, and within moments, Harry Daves came to his side, the two of them walked side by side.

"Mr. Harry, did you call me for something?"

Edward looked sideways at Harry and asked.

Harry was not tall, he was just around 1.7 meter, and walking beside Edward, he looked even short.

As the dean of grade 11, he was naturally aware of the fact that Edward had already assumed the position of homeroom teacher for class 9 of grade 11.

"Mr. Edward, what are your thoughts on class 9 of grade 11?"

Harry looked up at Edward with a smile and opened his mouth to ask.

Just now, when Edward was playing basketball with Miles and the others, he had watched clearly from the corner of the teaching building.

As Thomas Moore is the principal. He needed to worry about the big and small matters of all the 66 classes in the school.

Harry, as the Dean, naturally needed to worry about all sorts of things for the 19 classes of grade 11 in the school.

How could he not know when students skipped out during class time to play basketball?

Very coincidentally, just as he was about to come out to teach those six ungrateful brats a lesson, he saw Edward from a distance.

With quick thoughts, he had a plan in mind.

Thus, he stopped his steps and chose to observe the situation on the basketball court from the shadows.

He wanted to see if Edward, as the new homeroom teacher of class 9 of grade 11, could discover that the few students on the basketball court were students from his own class? And after finding out, how would he deal with the matter?

He knew that the principal Thomas Moore had strategically given up on class 9 of grade 11.

He and Thomas had a boss and subordinate relationship but both were old friends and had good terms with each other.

Having no choice but to choose Edward to be the homeroom teacher for class 9 of grade 11, Thomas had also asked his opinion.

Therefore, when he saw that Edward recognized Miles and the others and even played basketball with them, his feelings were mixed.

Neither he, the Dean of classes, nor Thomas Moore, the principal of Horizon High School, had ever said anything like giving up on class 9 of grade 11 in any public place.

It's something that could never be put on the table.

"Mr. Harry, I don't have much of an idea yet." Edward said with a smile. This was the truth.

Class 9 of grade 11 had a total of 45 students which was considered the smallest number of students within the 19 classes of grade 11.

As of now, he hadn't even memorized all the names of the students in the class, so how could he have any idea about the class?

Besides, he couldn't possibly tell Harry about the Strongest Class Teacher System.

"I'm going to start by getting to know the entire class. Then learn about their past, learn about their preferences, and then make a targeted teaching plan for them." Edward said as he walked.

Harry nodded, clearly impressed. "That's a smart approach. It's important to make connections with students early on. If you need any advice or help with the process, just let me know. I've been around the block a few times and might have some insights to offer."

Edward had only just separated from Miles and the other students when Harry walked out of the teaching building. He wasn't stupid, he could easily guess that Harry must have been observing the situation on the basketball court from a corner.

Edward still knew something about Harry that he was meticulous and notoriously strict.

He had more than once heard the students of the classes privately calling him "The Tyrant" during physical education class.

Even in class 9 of grade 11, which was a prickly class, most of the students were very afraid of Harry.

It was Miles and the others who were able to act so recklessly under Harry's nose without being caught by him, making Edward very surprised and astonished.

Harry nodded slightly after some time and said, "Edward sir, don't feel pressured. Class 9 of grade 11's situation is a bit more special. The students in the class, more or less, have some family connections, so even I, The Dean, can't control them very well."

Even the principal, Thomas Moore, couldn't do anything about it, not to mention him, The Dean of grade 11.

Edward wasn't surprised, if it was this easy to manage, why would the principal get him, a physical education teacher, to be the homeroom teacher?

He nodded his head in understanding.

"Mr. Harry, then you know all about what just happened when I played with them?"

Edward was curious in his mind and opened his mouth to ask. He was curious about the students that were difficult to deal with even for the infamous "The Tyrant".

Harry glanced at Edward and nodded with a smile.

"Edward sir's method of handling the situation was quite surprising to me."

He was truly surprised that Edward would choose to play with Miles and the other students.

He is 45 years old and is not a basketball or football fan. So he can't understand everything that happens on the basketball court.

He only knew that this young teacher Edward played basketball very well, as to what extent? He doesn't know.

But from Miles's and other students' looks, he understood that Edward had completely subdued them on the basketball court.

He only needed to know that and that was enough. In Harry's opinion, this was at least a good start, wasn't it?

In the past, the homeroom teacher of class 9 of grade 11 was a teacher of the English class, and the means of discipline were only so-so, with little effect.

In the process of fighting with these students, they were either exasperated and left angrily, or they were caught in a very difficult situation.

The longest homeroom teacher was for more than two months but ultimately he could not stand the students so he chose to leave the post.

But now seeing Edward's performance, Harry's heart had some expectations from him.

'Perhaps, Mr. Edward can really control class 9 of grade 11?'

After having such thoughts and ideas in his mind, Harry looked at Edward.

"I was just about to come out and reprimand them, when I saw that Teacher Edward had already gotten into a match with them."

Harry continued, "Edward sir should know that Miles Andrus is a special enrollment from sports. As a key High School, Horizon High School has never been afraid of challenges from other schools in the aspect of learning and exams. But when it comes to the aspect of the sports department, it is indeed lacking. Therefore, we have special enrollment in sports, it is the school's way of dealing with it."

Edward nodded his head.

This was quite understandable. How could a student who studied well have a lot of time for sports?

As a key High School, the speciality of Horizon High School's assessment but they also have to support the sports.

Therefore, the special enrollment for sports is what many key high schools recruit to serve as a front for sports competitions.

It is not surprising that there is much preferential and lenient treatment for students enrolled in special sports programs.

"Maxwell Robbins came here from the Imperial City to study here."

After finishing Miles Andrus, Harry Daves began to introduce Edward to a few other students.
