Varg zoomed through the town of Vanadan on his sluggish scooter, the landscape around him a blend of futuristic technology and buildings, all overgrown with wild grasses. He clenched the handlebars tighter, muttering under his breath, "Come on, come on! Why is this thing so slow? I'm going to be late for my first day at the academy!"
A flash of memory interrupted his thoughts—his mother, laughing as she handed him the scooter. "Son, take this with you. Your 'lovey-dovey' uncle gave it to you for good luck," she said, leaving no room for argument.
Varg groaned, his annoyance flaring. "Why does Mom always force me to take everything? I've barely even met this uncle. All I know is he's some eccentric inventor who builds random gadgets... and hasn't had a job in years."
The academy road finally came into view, and Varg sighed in relief. "At last! Only a few miles left." He grinned at the thought of his dream academy life. "This is it! Bager Academy… My life's about to change. Maybe I'll meet a beautiful, rich girl. I could be a house husband and—" He laughed and shook his head. "Nah, I'm kidding. I'll live with dignity. Earn my own way, raise a family. Maybe even get a girlfriend while I'm here... Heh, who knows?"
His excitement momentarily faded as he caught sight of his belly poking out from under his shirt. "Ugh... though, with this weight, I doubt I've got much of a chance with the girls. But can I help it? Mom feeds me like I'm starving!"
Varg remembered hearing about the academy's rigorous training and diet programs. "Maybe I'll lose some weight while I'm there... That would be nice."
As he approached the academy gates, he saw other students gathering ahead. In a panic, Varg quickly dismounted and pressed a button on the scooter. It folded into a small cube, no bigger than a Rubik's cube, which he stuffed into his pocket before anyone could notice.
Taking a deep breath, he stood before the towering gates of Bager Academy. "Alright. Here we go. Time to start my journey and become the best."
With a determined smile, Varg stepped forward, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
