Chereads / The Demonic Child / Chapter 41 - Unmasking the Evil

Chapter 41 - Unmasking the Evil

"There's no task too difficult for a generous reward," the two men thought when Zhang Yu-cheng offered extra money.

They didn't care about bad omens anymore, and jumped into the pit, bringing up the wooden box and placing it in front of me.

I crouched down and took a closer look at the workmanship of the wooden box and the runes on it, a sense of doubt arose in my heart, and I muttered to myself, "Seems like we encountered a master."

Then, I found a small wooden stick nearby and pried open the wooden box.

As soon as the wooden box was opened, a foul smell wafted out, and everyone standing around gasped.

Zhang Yun-yao's face turned pale with fright.

"This… What kind of person would do this? How could they be so heartless!" Zhang Yu-cheng trembled with anger.

Inside the wooden box was a cat corpse.

It had been disemboweled, its internal organs spilled out, and the body was already rotten and smelly.

The cat's eyes had been gouged out, leaving only two black holes, and its teeth had been knocked out, covered in blood, its death was extremely miserable.

One look at the cat's condition, and I knew that it had been tortured to death while alive.

And it had been left there for a long time, at least ten days.

Looking at the cat corpse in the wooden box, Zhang Yu-cheng asked, "Master Wu, what's going on? What does a cat corpse mean in the tomb?"

"Your family's ancestral grave has excellent feng shui. Someone has tampered with it, setting up an array to deliberately sabotage your family's ancestral grave's feng shui and fortune.

After so long, your family's ancestral grave's fortune has almost been exhausted, and this grave cannot be used anymore." I said solemnly.

Then, I walked to another spot, stepped on it with my foot and said, "There's another one here, keep digging."

Zhang Yu-cheng's face turned dark, and he felt dizzy and disoriented.

He walked to my side and asked again, "Master Wu, who could have done this, why would they want to sabotage our Zhang family's ancestral grave's feng shui?"

"You ask me, I want to ask you too. Have you offended anyone lately?" I looked at him.

Zhang Yu-cheng thought carefully and said, "I'm a businessman, I naturally value harmony. I'm always polite to people, how could I possibly offend anyone? Even if I did offend someone, they wouldn't hate me to this extent, would they?"

"I don't know about that. I'm here to look at the feng shui for your family. As for who you might have offended, I can't figure it out. Think about it later."

As I spoke, the workers continued digging according to my instructions.

This time, the item buried inside was deeper, they had to dig for more than two meters before they dug up another wooden box.

The first wooden box they dug up was black, but this one was painted red.

After opening it, the contents inside were even more eerie: nine snake bodies with their heads cut off.

The snake corpses were intertwined with each other and were already rotten, emitting a strong stench.

After I directed the workers to dig up two wooden boxes from Zhang's family's ancestral grave, Zhang Yu-cheng and Zhang Yun-yao looked at me differently.

Zhang Yu-cheng sighed and said, "Master Wu, you are truly a master of feng shui. I've hired at least four or five feng shui masters, and none of them could figure anything out. You came here and found these things from the tomb, it's incredible."

"All the plants around your family's ancestral grave have died, even the grass doesn't grow, which is a sign that the vital energy has been cut off and the fortune dissipated.

If I'm not mistaken, this should be a kind of evil technique recorded in Lu Ban's arts.

There is one more crucial item in your family's ancestral grave, which is the most important part of the whole array.

If I'm not wrong, the next wooden box should be white, and the item should be buried..."

My gaze swept over the area, and I landed on the northeast corner, directly saying, "Take seven steps from here in the northeast direction, that's where the last item is buried. Dig it up together."

Zhang Yu-cheng didn't dare to slack off, and immediately took his men there to dig.

More than an hour later, they did dig up another wooden box.

Just like I said before, it was indeed white.

As soon as he saw this wooden box, Zhang Yu-cheng was completely convinced by my skills, and said excitedly:

"Master Wu, you are truly amazing. You even guessed the color of the object buried inside."

This wasn't a guess, I've been studying feng shui with my master for eight years, and I'm familiar with all the schools and sects of cultivation, this is pure experience.

As soon as the white wooden box was brought out, Zhang Yu-cheng couldn't wait to reach out and open it, wanting to see what kind of evil object was inside.

When his hand touched the wooden box, I suddenly felt a sense of dread and quickly stopped him, "Don't open it, let me!"

However, I was a step too late.

Zhang Yu-cheng was too anxious and opened the white wooden box directly.

The moment the wooden box was opened, a black mist erupted from inside, hitting Zhang Yu-cheng in the face.

Zhang Yun-cheng shuddered and froze in place, the next moment, he fell straight backwards.

"Dad!" Zhang Yun-yao rushed to Zhang Yu-cheng's side, reaching out to help him up.

I was quicker, grabbed Zhang Yun-yao's arm, "Don't touch him, he's been hit by evil energy, whoever touches him will be unlucky."

My loud shout made everyone standing next to Zhang Yu-cheng stop moving and look at me.

Zhang Yun-yao was so anxious that she was about to cry, grabbing my hand and saying, "Master Wu, what's wrong with my dad? Please save him!"

"Don't worry, I'm here. It's fine." As I said, I walked to Zhang Yu-cheng's side, squatted down and examined him carefully.

This time, his forehead was pitch black, his face was also blue and purple, his facial expression was like it had frozen, and even his breathing seemed to have stopped.

This was the result of being hit by a powerful evil energy.

If he didn't release the evil energy in his body quickly, Zhang Yu-cheng could even be in danger of death.

"Uncle Huzi, bring the silver needles." I called out.

Uncle Huzi immediately came over and brought a package.

He opened it and inside was a row of densely packed silver needles.

My hand hovered over the silver needles, and I suddenly reached out and grabbed a needle, stabbing it directly into the Danzhong acupoint on his chest.

Shortly after I pulled out the needle, a drop of black blood oozed out from the wound.

The moment this drop of black blood came out, Zhang Yu-cheng suddenly started breathing heavily, as if a drowning person had just been pulled out of the water.
