Pulling up to Liam's building, I took a series of deep breaths, trying to steady my racing heart before stepping out of the car. There was every possibility that he would rat me out to our father the moment he learned about what I did, and the thought of that made my stomach churn.
As I walked into his house, I noticed that his security didn't even spare me a glance. They treated me as if I were invisible, a mere nuisance, which only added to my mounting anxiety. I couldn't shake the feeling that they looked down on me.
Once inside, I waited in the living room as his housekeeper instructed, trying my best to appear calm and collected. I took a seat, forcing myself not to fidget. Time seemed to stretch as I contemplated the potential fallout of my actions.
Thirty long minutes later, Liam finally walked into the living room.
