I had been waiting patiently for Ines to call me, hoping she'd take the initiative and reach out first. But when days passed without a word from her, I decided it was time to push things further. 

I instructed Kia, who in turn instructed Luna to put more pressure on the board, ensuring Ines had no choice but to act.

Luna suggested having one of the board members demand an audit report. Once she feels cornered, she'll have no choice but to respond.

"You really think she's going to call you?" Renee asked over the phone.

While she spoke, I couldn't help but admire the soft, rosy shade of her lipstick. It was perfect. "I'm sure of it," I replied. "She'll call."

And as if on cue, my phone buzzed, drawing my attention away from the iPad in my lap. A slow grin spread across my face as I glanced at the screen. Holding the phone up for Renee to see, I couldn't resist a smug smile. "See? Told you she'd call."
