Chapter 48 - A Month Full Of Nightmare

An undercover agent posing as a bodyguard spotted a butler who suddenly came out of his room down the stairs. His suspicious movements made Axel decide to follow him.

He followed Mike out the back door of the mansion, but when he quietly exited the mansion, Mike was no longer there.

"What? Where is he?!" he said in confusion as he looked around. He was sure Mike hadn't gone too far that fast. But Axel was absolutely sure he didn't see anyone in the backyard.

Thinking he didn't see the Alpha there, he decided to go back to his room and close the door to the backyard. Little did he know that Mike was hiding behind one of the trees because he realized someone had followed him.

'What does he want?' he thought as she squinted his eyes and left the tree for the darker side.

The terror came one after another, not only the dead animals that were sent but also the cursed messages that Noah Oliver's fans sent to Daren even they crossed out his car and write "Whore". But most of the letters never reached Daren because both Mike and Axel burned the letters before Daren could read them.

But they did get information that the terror started because of a post on Noah Oliver's fanbase account sent by Noah Oliver himself. Saying that Daren was the cause of the destruction of his career.

"Isn't a fanbase account usually held by one of the fans?" asked Mike.

"It is, but these words were written by Noah Oliver's own official account. He wrote them on his fanbase wall which made them believe that it was an order to send terror to Daren," replied Ivan who was involved in solving this problem.

Even though he was very busy, he felt sorry to see how Daren was getting all the terror. And as a good friend Ivan wanted to help stop the terror.

But Axel didn't really trust Ivan who participated in this settlement. From the beginning he had a hard time believing in the Beta.

"So should we try to meet Noah Oliver and ask him to stop sending things like this?" asked Daren who was starting to feel uncomfortable because he was constantly getting threats and abuse even on his social media accounts.

"It would be too risky to meet Noah Oliver in person. And I heard that he's moved after the case," replied Axel who felt that it wasn't the best thing to do.

"But if we don't go there, how will we stop him?"

"What Axel said does have a point, there's no need to go to that guy's place. It could be a trap to get you to come see him," Ivan said, trying to convince them that meeting Noah Oliver wasn't a good idea.

They then discussed a few things until Ivan had to leave because he had other work to do. Likewise with Mike, who said that he had to go to the kitchen to take care of something.

Axel's eyes followed Mike who always went to the kitchen at the same time as before. It was as if what he was doing was something routine that Axel didn't know what exactly he was doing.

"My head hurts thinking about this, even though I thought there would be no more problems with that guy but he still started this annoying terror," Daren complained while massaging the bridge of his nose.

"I'm suspicious, too, why that damn guy would bring this up again after a few months. It's as if he doesn't want to forgive you for what happened. It's all his fault," the bodyguard said as he sat on a chair near Daren's bed and rubbed the man's head.

It made him feel calmer for a moment. But for some reason Daren kept thinking about going to Noah Oliver and talking directly about this. If something did happen, at least Axel would be with him.

"He's the one at the heart of this, he's going to be actively updating every word that this is all really my fault. So it's better for us to go there and tell him to stop doing this," explained the blonde Omega because he felt that if she just waited, it would not be fruitful.

Axel nodded in understanding of the employer's explanation. He tried to rethink this and agreed to go meet the mastermind of all this.

But before that, he wanted to ask something that might add to the information he needed.

"If I may ask, how long have you known Mike well?"

"Mike? I've known him since we were kids. I was about eight years old and he was six. Considering he's the son of my father's butler and the family maid, he's been here since childhood," Daren replied.

"Did you ever think that Mike might think of doing something bad to you?"

Daren immediately turned to Axel because he was wondering why the man was asking him such a question. But of course he replied that Mike couldn't possibly do that because as far as he knew the man had always been kind to him.

"He's a loyal and understanding butler, I've never felt threatened around him or thought he had bad intentions towards me. I've always been good to him. He is like my own brother too," he replied.

He then lay back and looked up at the ceiling of her room and said, "He's one of the people I trust the most. You and Ivan too, you're the only three people I trust the most that I have. And I hope nothing breaks this trust."

A few days after that, Axel and Daren finally decided to go to Noah's house. It was because of Noah's words on social media that he had even shared Daren's personal information, which he didn't even know where Noah had gotten it from.

"This is the house," Axel said as he stopped the car in front of a small house on the edge of town.

Ever since the case that ruined his good name, everyone hated him to the point that no one would accept him living around elite housing even in his old house. So he moved to the other end of town and lived in an ordinary house.

"Let's go inside," Daren said and got out of his car.

Just as he was about to walk to the door, Axel grabbed his arm and held the Omega. What hand would clasp Daren's, asking him to stay close.

"It would be very dangerous for you to meet her again in person, so I'll go first," he said.

Daren nodded his head, feeling a little more relieved that he was actually still afraid of Noah Oliver.

He pressed the bell a few times, but there was no answer from inside.

Ding dong!

"No one's opening the door. What are we going to do?" asked Daren.

When Daren accidentally leaned against the door, it pushed open. "Woaahh!! The door isn't locked?!"

Feeling something was off, they finally entered the house. Hoping nothing worse would come their way.
