Two alphas ran away from an attack from a group that kept chasing them with guns. They fired shot after shot, hitting the two alpha males with their bullets.
"I'll try to draw their attention, you call in backup to the base!" one of them ordered.
"Are you sure, Vic? You want to attract attention and I'll call for backup?"
"Yes, do it quickly or we'll die. The boss said it himself if those guys attack us, we better call them right away!" Victor replied and fired at the guys one by one.
The long-haired man behind him paused for a moment and then nodded his head.
Victor went forward to fight an organization that was trying to eliminate members of the organization he worked for. Somehow, information about the members of the agent he works for was leaked to another organization that is their enemy.
He was injured by the many alphas he had to fight. But the well-trained Victor handles them well, until something unexpected happens that he never thought possible.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three shots hit him from behind, Victor immediately fell helpless because the shots he received hit his back.
BRUK!
"Kkkh... Damn, what happened? Is Aiden..."
He tried to stay on his feet, trying to find his partner who had always been with him and had been his best friend. As he was enduring the pain, a foot kicked him back down until he fell in a pool of his own blood and the wound on his back had to hit the ground.
"Aghh!" he moaned in pain. He opened his eyes and saw the man who had kicked him and shot him earlier.
"Aiden?"
"Hello, Vic. How does it feel to be shot in the back, does it hurt that much?" asked the man Victor had asked to call for help, but he had shot him instead.
"Kkh-- What's the point of all this, Aiden? Why are you..."
"The point of all this? Of course it's because I've had it with this organization. They're always doing dirty things but still have clean rules for not crossing the line. Even killing someone has rules, how ridiculous," Aiden replied as he folded his arms across his chest.
He then turned to Victor who was lying helplessly.
"And you keep reminding me to follow those stupid rules."
"You're siding with the enemy organization?! You!"
Aiden laughed when he saw his partner's angry expression. It seemed to be the reaction he had expected from the betrayal he had committed.
"You were just too brutal in doing so, leaving a trail of details that you didn't even realize. You put yourself and the organization in danger!" Victor replied in a voice that was hoarse from the pain he was currently feeling.
Aiden looked unhappy with that answer and pointed his gun at Victor.
"That's what always made you look like a puppet, even to that mother of yours."
BANG!
Flashback End
After almost six years had passed since then, Victor had never seen or heard from Aiden again. Until one day, he saw a tall man with long black hair standing by the sweets shelf.
"Aiden." Victor's hands clenched into tight fists because of the annoyance he had at the man.
'Heh, he's still alive apparently. I know he won't die easily, but I won't let him kill me,' he thought.
He then turned to go to the cashier where Daren was already there.
"We should get out of here," he said.
"Huh? What's the hurry? We're waiting for the groceries to be counted. Just be patient, you only bought canned coffee?" Daren asked.
"Tch, hurry up. We can't stay here for long."
Victor didn't want his traitorous partner to see him, especially with Daren. He didn't want Daren to become a target for Aiden later. He recognized that the man was very dangerous, especially to Daren.
Sometimes he couldn't even guess what his former partner was thinking. He didn't want anything to happen to Daren if Aiden saw them together.
After paying, Victor immediately pulled Daren's hand out of the convenience store to leave as quickly as possible.
"Hey, what's wrong with you, you're acting so weird!"
"I just want us to get back quickly. Quicken your pace!" the alpha male replied as he continued to tug on his hand.
The curious Daren chose to hold Victor back so that he would stop. He didn't want to walk without knowing the reason first. But Victor insisted that they talk about it at home.
"How is it different from here? Just tell me briefly and I'll run straight home!"
"Are you serious? At a time like this, I'm pulling a fast one on you for no reason?" He massaged the bridge of his nose because Daren wouldn't listen to him.
"Is it that hard? Come on, just one sentence so I can understand!" Daren said again asking his lover.
Victor let out a rude sigh and told him about what he had seen at the convenience store.
"Do you remember me telling you that I was also betrayed by my partner before I met Wilfred?" he asked.
"Yes, I remember that. What's wrong with that?" Daren asked back before he realized something. "Wait... Don't tell me that he..."
"Yeah, now hurry up and follow me before he--"
"Before I what, Vic?"
Suddenly there was a man's voice from behind them, followed by approaching footsteps. Victor who could feel the alpha's pheromones immediately growled in annoyance because again he had to deal with him.
"Hmn what is this? Are you guys on a date this late?" asked the man who was none other than Aiden.
He walked over and stood in front of Victor.
"You haven't changed, still working for that trash organization makes you look so weak."
"That's none of your business! Get out of my way, I don't want to see the face of a traitor like you!" Victor retorted angrily.
His gaze was so intense on Aiden it was as if he hated the man with a passion. His teeth were grinding together because of the grudge he held.
Daren who was there could only watch the two alphas clashing their pheromones. Sharp gazes looked at each other.
His blue eyes then turned to Aiden. 'So he's Vic's friend and partner who betrayed him? He looks very strong, I think as strong as Vic right now. His pheromones are even quite terrifying,' he thought.
Aiden's eyes then turned to Daren who was next to Victor. Daren gasped in surprise as he stared at him.
He suddenly pulled Daren's chin closer to his face until their faces were only inches apart.
"Hmn... Interesting Omega."
