Only two months have passed, but Daren already misses Victor by his side. They used to go everywhere together, but now they only met through video calls. Sometimes it made him feel sad, but he had to be able to understand his lover's work.
Daren always remembered Victor saying that one of the reasons he didn't have Omega was because of this. He wouldn't have much time for his Omega and was too busy with his work.
"Even though I'm also busy with my filming schedule, I still want to meet him. When is he coming?" he asked with a sigh.
He checked the clock on his phone, it was ten in the morning. Daren couldn't call Victor because he knew the man's Saturday schedule and had to do his job.
The man lay on his hanging chair, staring up at the blue sky from his backyard. He sighed softly, wishing he could see Victor again.
"Thinking about your Alpha, dear?"
Suddenly, Viona's voice came to him in a wheelchair. Daren turned around and returned to his sitting position. He lifted his mother's body to sit in the hanging chair with him.
"Yes, I was thinking about Vic. Even though we communicate often, it's lonely when he's not around."
"He must be busy at work, however you have to support him. He's a hard worker and I'm sure he won't do anything strange there. You have to trust him," says his mother.
"I believe Vic couldn't have cheated on me or anything like that. It's just... It's weird to think he should be close to someone else," Daren replied.
"I don't know what your Alpha does, but as long as you trust him, he'll be happy. When you're tired of working even away from the people you love, the only thing he wants is to return to them with the trust they still have. I'm sure Victor wishes the same."
He nodded in understanding when he heard that. Viona took his hand and rubbed it gently. She told him how proud she was of Daren. He had done so much for their lives over the months since they left the mansion.
Viona was sure there was a lot more Daren would go through since he was still young.
"But I believe you can do it. Because I've always been proud of you," she said, hugging her son. "Even when the world was always trying to bring you down, I was always proud because I knew you were a good man and a good son. It's just that they don't understand how you show it."
"Mom..." Daren nuzzled into his mother's neck, happy that he still had her today. The only family he really had left.
She wiped away his tears and caressed both his cheeks. "Don't be sad, it's your birthday soon, right? Have you decided on your celebration party yet?"
Daren shook his head, he just wanted to be with her, Mike and Edgar. Although he hoped Victor would come for his birthday, he wasn't sure if he would or not.
"I'm sure he will. You can tell him this. He'll make time to come, but if he doesn't, don't be mad at him, okay?"
"Okay, mom."
'It's not like I expect much from him,' Daren thought.
"Daren!"
Now that Mike's voice called out to him, he and Viona turned to see the man walking over. "What's up, Mike? Did a new contract come in?"
"Not that, but someone came looking for you. Ace Monalova, he's here to visit you," he replied.
"Ace?" asked a confused Viona.
Daren explained that it was the Beta who had recently gotten a role with him. Someone who became Zach's rival even emerged a second fanbase where they matched Daren with Ace who was deemed suitable because Ace was now more often seen with him.
It even caused an uproar among the fans where they preferred Daren to be with Zach.
'I have my own Alpha, I don't want both of them!'
"What does he want to come here for? Huft it's annoying, but I can't send him away," he said with a sigh.
"Just talk to him casually, there's no need to get too frustrated. If he does talk about personal matters, you can refuse to answer. Don't drive someone away that will affect your career."
"Okay mom." He then turned to Mike and let Ace in, asking him to also tell the maid to make tea and some snacks.
Mike nodded and walked away to tell her about it. Daren stood up from his seat. Asking his mother to relax, he helped Viona raise her legs so she could straighten them and kissed her on the cheek.
Not long after Ace came in with something in his hand, he walked over to Daren who was sitting in a garden chair with a maid.
"Hello Daren, we meet again," he greeted him.
"More like you came to me. So what brings you here?" asked Daren as he invited Ace to sit down.
"I came here to ask you a question. I heard that your birthday is coming up, so I wanted to know when you're going to send out your birthday invitations and where the location?"
The man knew that his birthday was not a secret and many of them were hoping to come to his birthday. Thinking about how extravagant Daren's birthday would be, many wondered why the son of a big company never celebrated his birthday before.
However, Daren replied that he wasn't planning to throw a big party. He will just celebrate with his family.
"Really? Do you mind if I come over later? I know I'm not part of your family. But I want to come and celebrate with you," Ace said.
'The only people I expect to come are my family and Vic, not you.'
"If you already know that you're not part of my family, then why are you still asking me to give you permission to attend my birthday party?" Daren asked him back.
Ace looked confused to answer, but it showed on his face that he really wanted to come to the party. He had even proposed to have the party at a famous six-star restaurant in Zondalian and he would pay for everything.
However, Daren still refused, until Ace could say no more and replied.
"Because I will be part of your family."
