The screen flickered with the logo of CNN news channel as the debate began.
A panel of experts and pundits filled the display, each taking their stance on the recent developments surrounding Homelander's ultimatum.
The anchor's voice cut through the noise as the debate officially kicked off.
"Good evening, everyone. Tonight, we'll be discussing the unprecedented ultimatum given by Homelander. "
"With his ultimatum to the U.S. government and his bold actions overseas, many are wondering whether he's still a hero—or if he's playing god," the anchor said, setting the tone for the discussion.
One of the panelists, a retired military general, leaned in. "This isn't about heroism anymore. This is about unchecked power. Homelander has been acting outside of any legal authority for too long. "
"His actions overseas—obliterating entire factions and wiping out threats on foreign soil—show a man who believes he's above the law."
Another panelist, a journalist specializing in superheroes, countered, "Yes, but let's not forget the lives he's saved. Homelander has single-handedly stopped many disastrous events. While his methods may be forceful, we can't ignore the good he's done."
A third voice, a political analyst, chimed in. "But at what cost? When does protecting humanity turn into controlling it? His recent ultimatum to the government is nothing short of a power grab. "
" He's forcing the hand of the world's most powerful nation, demanding the shutdown of government facilities within a week. That's not diplomacy. That's tyranny."
The camera shifted back to the anchor. "But can we dismiss the argument that maybe—just maybe—Homelander is right? After all, we've seen what governments have done behind closed doors with mutant experiments. Isn't he bringing justice where the law has failed?"
The general shook his head. "Justice doesn't come from the barrel of a gun or the glare of heat vision. What's next? If someone disagrees with him, do they just get vaporized? He's a man over his head, playing god."
Before the debate could intensify further, the anchor interrupted. "We've just received the first official statement from the President of the United States regarding Homelander's ultimatum. Let's go live."
The screen changed to a press room where the President stood at a podium, his expression stern but controlled. "We are aware of Homelander's recent Statement intended for us," the President began. "The actions of this individual, both domestically and abroad, have been... a matter of concern. "
" While we acknowledge his role in safeguarding this country, his unilateral decisions raise serious questions. The government does not condone any forceful actions that undermine the rule of law. "
" We urge Homelander to enter into a dialogue with us to resolve this issue peacefully, for the sake of our citizens and the world."
The camera returned to the panel as the anchor spoke up. "There you have it, folks. The President is calling for dialogue, but is this truly the correct choice? considering ——"
Niklaus turned off the TV having heard enough.
"It seems that the government in this universe is truly as foolish as it was depicted in the comics"
Niklaus chuckled mirthlessly as he tried to understand the reasoning behind what allowed them to have the courage to pull something like that out of their asses.
"Oh well no matter It seems Mr. McAllistor finally has some use now"

Erik slowly blinked awake, the dim glow of the lab lights fading into focus.
His body felt like it was humming, buzzing with a power he had never experienced before his body looked anew as his muscles had reformed and all the defects from old age felt non existant.
He flexed his fingers, feeling the immense control over the magnetic fields surrounding him, far beyond what he had ever felt in his prime.
He could sense the Earth's magnetic core pulsating deep below, and with a mere thought, he felt as if he could bend the Sun's magnetic field to his will.
The overwhelming surge of power coursing through him was intoxicating, a euphoric bliss that almost consumed him whole.
His breaths came slow and heavy, the sensation of strength practically singing through his veins.
Just as the euphoria began to settle in, a voice, familiar and biting, cut through the air.
"Welcome back, Magneto," Homelander said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Enjoying your little power trip, are we?"
Erik's senses, now sharpened beyond imagination, focused on Homelander's presence.
What once felt like just another powerful individual now loomed over him like an unstoppable force of nature far sarpassing even the Sun.
Homelander stood before him, radiating power like a volcano contained within the shell of a man, ready to erupt at any moment.
The sheer intensity of it made Erik realize just how much further he had to go, even with his newfound abilities.
Homelander tossed a set of clothes in Erik's direction, breaking the moment of awe with his ever-casual demeanor.
"Get dressed," he instructed with a smirk, "we're heading to the training room. You've got a lot of relearning to do, and I want to see what you can really do now."
Erik caught the clothes mid-air, his expression neutral but his mind racing.
He had never felt such potential, and yet here was someone who looked at him as if he were still leagues beneath him.
He felt the unspoken test and Erik was eager to see just how far his power could go.
