Chapter 3 - -Summons From My Parents

"Young lady, when did you become so cute?"

After she spoke, a brief moment of silence began between the two of us. I was completely unaware of what I should even say. I didn't want to cause any suspicion from her, but I also was starting to grow tired of pretending to know people that I didn't.

In the game, every player would have access to a menu option called journal that logged every single mission that you took. If it were to exist in this world as a real journal and not a mission log, that would be somewhat helpful. However, it was bold to assume that a side character would have the same privileges as the protagonist.

The reason I wanted to get my hands on the journal so badly was so I could learn the names and possibly personalities of the people that used to be close to Alicia. If I could do that, then I could transition to playing my role as quickly as possible.

While I was currently able to get by, using my knowledge of the game it was far too limited and the only way I could know the subsequent amount without causing uncertainty was if I had a teacher who didn't actually exist.

In response to the maid's question, I displayed the same bewitching, wide smile. The one that could melt anyone's heart.

"I never imagined you would be so focused on flattery that you forgot to feed me… Freya."

While I intended to finish my sentence without adding the random name that had suddenly appeared in my mind. My heart took over my brain, and the name left my mouth unconsciously. Now I was forced into a state of panic, as a result of the sudden name drop.

Now she is definitely going to be suspicious of me. Not only did I not call her by her name, but not once since we had spoken. Instead, I called her by a random name that I didn't even not know the origin of?!

However, Freya's demeanor did change, but not in the way that I had expected. Instead, the blush that plagued her cheeks reddened even more, and she fidgeted her fingers slightly before murmuring just slightly loud enough for me to hear.

"Young Lady, when did you learn my name…"

The answer from her was accompanied by the swift lowering of her hand as she scooped the cream out of the bowl. With a joyful change in her expression, she raised the spoon to my mouth, waiting for me to open it.

What the hell just happened?

The random name that felt like it had been forced out of my mouth was her actual name?! How could that even be possible? While I was completely fixated on that matter, the girl's slender arm was becoming visibly tired as her arm wavered in front of me wildly, and her expression slightly tensed.

Since It was becoming evident that my hesitation was bothering her, I suddenly opened my mouth and sucked the cream off of the silver spoon.

The taste that entered my mouth was sweat, and the creamy texture made it melt in my mouth as I became absorbed in the wonder of this sweet food. Without a doubt, this was the best meal that I had eaten in years.

Thank you transmigration!

However, while my attention was completely fixed on the food in front of me I Freya's aqua blue eyes twinkled with amusement as she fed me the cream. Each time she fed me another spoonful and an uncontrollable smile curled my lips, her gaze became more tender.

She must really like Alicia if she can become this happy from just watching her eat.

Even though wished the early morning breakfast could last forever, Freya's sudden announcement broke me out of the trance that I had become so absorbed into as I nobbled on the silver spoon.

"Young Lady, your parents have summoned you to the main house."

Main house? Is Freya insinuating that there is a separate house that my parents live in?

I understood that Alicia was the daughter of the Duke, but she was still only sixteen at the start of the game's story. Wouldn't it be lonely for her to stay in a massive house by herself? Well, I could only assume that the rest of the house was large. I had only seen the bedroom and the bathroom so far.

However, I would argue it was fair to assume the rest of the house would be grand after witnessing the sight of those two places.

After Freya finished her sentence, she halted feeding me for a moment, as she was likely waiting for my answer. After turning my gaze away from the spoon and to her eyes. It was apparent that her blue eyes awaited my command as she stood almost as still as a statue in wait for my call.

Did I truly have to drop everything I was doing to visit my parents? I kind of hoped to know more about my relationship with them before I had to meet them. However, it would be rude for me to refuse to meet my own parents. No matter what the relationship between us was, I decided I wouldn't keep them waiting for too long.

"Alright, Freya, let's prepare to depart to the main house soon."

I wasn't sure if Alicia brought Freya along whenever she visited her parents, but I also wasn't sure if Alicia even visited her parents in the first place. In fact, the sudden gasp when I explained my plan to Freya led me to believe that exact thought.

"Young Lady, don't you usually hate going to see your parents? Why do you want to see them now?"

Freya's response proved my thoughts to be true. Alicia didn't visit her parents often. If that was the case, some of her behavior in the game became a lot more reasonable.

While it was unexplained in the game, why Alicia's parents weren't the fondest of her, it likely stemmed from her extreme arrogance and stubbornness when it came to getting what she wanted.

Despite the notion that her parents weren't always happy with her behavior, they spoiled her and gave her almost everything that she wanted. I was sure that if I was able to meet them how I am now, then we may be able to get along well.

Of course, there was another reason why I wanted to go and meet my new parents. There was one thing that I knew that I had to do since I was now Alicia and that was…

"To annul my engagement with the Crown Prince."
