"Now is not the time for self-blame! Pull yourself together! You've obtained the strongest sage technique training method from Mount Myoboku. You only need to become stronger — that's all you need to do!"
Gritting his teeth, he realized with startling clarity how wrong he'd been about himself. He'd always believed he wasn't controlled by hatred, but now... Now he knows better.
"Huff..." He takes a deep breath, steeling himself. He can't stay in the Land of Fire any longer. He must evacuate and hide.
With newfound resolve, Jiraiya leaps up, leaving the small forest behind. He moves swiftly towards a small village at the border of the Land of Fire.
About a minute after his departure, another puff of white smoke appears.

Yusuke emerges from the smoke, a smile involuntarily spreading across his face.

"Jiraiya, you can barely save yourself. Yet you're still worried about those toads?"
Hearing this, uneasiness rose in Jiraiya's heart.
"Elder Fukasaku! Elder Shima? Where are they?" He shouted.
Yusuke nearly facepalmed in disappointment. He knew this man wasn't the brightest, but he hadn't realized to what extent.
"Them? Well, who knows." He spoke sarcastically, shrugging. Then, as if remembering something interesting, he added, "Oh, right."
He pointed at the scroll on the other part's back.
"Don't you have Mount Myoboku's summoning scroll? Why don't you open it and take a look?"
Jiraiya's body began to tremble slightly. If he dared to say this, didn't it mean... the worst had already happened?
"Open it quickly. Don't you want to see for yourself?" Yusuke's face still wore a faint smile.
"You—!" Jiraiya was now furious but dared not speak further.
With trembling hands, he slowly retrieved the summoning scroll from his back. He hadn't dared to open it since leaving Mount Myoboku.
Fear gripped him — fear of witnessing the scene he dreaded most. Now, he had no choice but to look. Yusuke's presence left him no alternative.
"Huff..." Jiraiya took a deep breath, steeling himself.
With shaking fingers, he unrolled the Mount Myoboku summoning scroll.
