"So you need to ensure that your son has the opportunity to fulfill his full potential. I've heard rumors that the new City Lord comes from a great background. As in, she's not from an Antharia type of background. Word is that she's from a big clan on the Home Star. So if Lucas can gain her protection, then…"
Although she didn't finish her sentence, Sienna understood what she meant. She sighed. She was silent for the next few minutes, but then her eyes hardened. She said, "He's not dead, you know. Lucas's father. He is still alive."
As she said this, she held the pendant on the necklace she was wearing. She smiled warmly as the pendant gently pulsated in her hand. But then her aura shifted and even Mrs. Z felt a chill climbing up her spine. Sienna's voice turned ice cold as she said, "Once he returns…"
She chuckled and continued, "I alone would be enough to protect my son. Those bastards won't stand a chance. That is, if they are still alive after suffering his wrath. But that is unlikely. Not to mention, this will be a good thing for Lucas. It will prepare him for the real world."
Then Sienna noticed that her mother's hand had a slight tremor. Her aura returned to its original state as she asked worriedly, "Mom, are you okay?"
Mrs. Z nodded, indicating that she was fine, but her thoughts were anything but. They were a mess.
'What was that? I'm a Gold Beast Tamer and that aura still gave me the chills. Isn't Sienna also a Gold Beast Tamer? So how could she possess that horrifying aura? This doesn't make sense. Also, who is Lucas's father?'
While she was in deep thought, someone else was also surprised.
A few minutes ago, when Sienna's aura had changed, in the City Lord's Mansion of Maple City, a woman was sitting in an office with a cigar in her hand. Behind her, another woman was standing. She seemed to be complaining, "That asshole really left a mess—"
She suddenly stopped as she felt an incredibly strong bloodlust coming from the city, but it was gone in an instant. Her eyes locked with the sitting woman. She said, "What the hell was that?"
The sitting woman exhaled a cloud of smoke and said, "Bloodlust. Incredibly strong bloodlust. But I wasn't able to pinpoint its source. It vanished too quickly."
She took a long puff. The woman standing behind her said, "Then shouldn't we lea—"
The sitting woman exhaled and interrupted her. She said, "No. We're staying here. Things are finally becoming interesting."
Back at the house, Sienna and Mrs. Z first discussed how they were going to tell Lucas about this. Then, they made themselves busy, but the fact that Lucas would have to leave soon still lingered in their minds. Soon it was afternoon and the alarm rang. Lucas's school bus would arrive soon. Sienna wrapped up what she was doing and went outside to wait for the bus.
Sure enough, the school bus arrived shortly. Lucas bid goodbye to his friends and exited the bus. As soon as he saw his mother, he rushed into her arms, hugging her tightly. He said, "Hi, Mom. Did you miss me today?"
Sienna kissed his cheeks and said, "Of course I did. What about you? Did you miss me?"
Lucas nodded. Sienna picked him up and said, "Let us go inside. Grandma is waiting for you."
Sienna then took Lucas inside where Mrs. Z took him from her arms. After a few minutes, Sienna had to practically force her mother to let go of him because she needed to get him freshened up and changed.
After doing all that, they had a meal. Then they took him to the living room. Sienna looked at her son and said, "Lucas, you love reading, right?"
Lucas nodded.
She continued, "What if there was a place where you could read all you want? A place where people will answer most of your questions?"
Lucas's eyes brightened up as he excitedly asked, "Is there really a place like that?"
Sienna nodded. She said, "There is. It's a school. And you can start going there when you begin your next grade."
Lucas grew even more excited, "Really?"
Sienna said, "Yes. But it is a boarding school. You will have to stay there and we'll only meet on weekends if there are no special circumstances."
Lucas's smile turned upside down as he said, "But I don't want to stay away from you and Grandma."
Sienna hugged him and said, "I know, honey. I don't want to stay away from you either. But think about it. Hasn't school become boring for you? I promise that it won't happen at the new school. You'll be able to learn all you want. And Noah's going to be there as well."
At first, Lucas was adamant about not going there, but Mrs. Z and Sienna convinced him otherwise. Of course, in the end, it didn't matter whether he wanted to go or not. He was going to be a part of Project Bloom. Period. There were no arguments there. But Mrs. Z and Sienna still wanted him to agree. Sienna also called the school to tell them her decision.
The next few months passed in a blur and the academic year ended. Lucas had a month of holidays, so the family decided to go on a vacation. Noah's family and Will and his new girlfriend also joined them.
It looked like he wanted to introduce her to Mrs. Z. When Sienna had met her, she thought, 'It seems he really is serious about her if he is willing to introduce her to Mom.'
Will was her childhood friend and neighbor. He had lost his parents at a young age and Mrs. Z practically raised him after the age of 11. So she was like his second mom. Anyways, the families had a lot of fun and Noah and Lucas finally found the answer to their debate.
As it turned out, Imperiacron and Gigarath were two halves of the Beast God, so it didn't matter who was stronger. To their utter disappointment, their favorite show ended with the two fusing back into the Beast God, Baløre's.
They returned and started packing. Finally, it was time for them to begin a new chapter in their lives.
