She was asking if they could talk. Lucas knew what this was about. It was about him pulling his nomination from the next election for President of the Enchanted Owl Society. He texted her back and asked her to meet him in the Student Council's office. He quickly finished the game and went to the room. Vivienne had already arrived and was talking to Geneviève.
Geneviève said, "Sup Lucas."
Lucas said, "Hi Genie. Still need a model?"
Geneviève giggled and said, "I don't, but a few artist groups are asking me to talk to you and Steven for them. Apparently, you two left quite an impression on them."
Lucas said, "Sure, but it'll cost them. And since you recommended them, I'll give them a discount."
Geneviève said, "Thanks, Lucas. I'll tell them to contact you." She looked at him and Vivienne and said, "You two look like you need to talk. I'll see you guys later."
Lucas said, "See you."
When Geneviève had left, Vivienne said, "So, what's going on?"
Lucas said, "It's due to my Call."
Vivienne asked doubtfully, "Your Call?"
Lucas replied, "Yeah, my Call. I need to work out. A lot. It is a physical Call."
That is right. He hadn't told this to Mina because there was no need for him to. Since a month ago, he had started feeling stifled. And that feeling wouldn't subside until he had pushed his body to the limit every day. At the same time, he had been spending a lot of time at the petting zoo. It was where the staff would leave their beasts for students to observe. It wasn't mandatory for them to do so, but many teachers still left their beasts there. There were also old beasts who were nearing death and beasts who had lost their Beast Tamers.
They were given potions to keep them calm, but most of them didn't need them. They were very docile, especially with kids. He had talked to his mother about this, and it was pretty similar to her Call. The only difference was that she didn't need to push herself as much as he did. And after the lecture, he was pretty sure that he was going to awaken two Innate Talents and one of them was going to be Coalescence.
Hell, the only reason he even went to Mina was that he wasn't able to find anything related to what he was experiencing. Of course, that was before he knew it was the Call of the Stars. He was sure that he would be able to find something. He also needed to talk to his mother about it since it was probably related to his father.
Just then, he heard Vivienne's voice, "--ucas! Lucas!"
He replied, "Huh? What happened?"
She said, "You spaced out. Is everything alright?"
Lucas said, "Yeah, no everything is fine. Sorry, I just have a lot on my mind. What was I saying? Yeah, because of the Call, I need some free time and can't be the President for the Society and the Student Council. The Dean understood that and told me not to participate in the next election. And let's be honest. It was kinda unfair that we have five votes when the other clubs only have two."
Vivienne said, "Alright, first of all, we also have only two votes. You have three extra votes because you are the Student Council President. Second, you won't be Student Council President as well."
Lucas said, "Actually, I would. The condition to be the Student Council President is to be on top of the Honour List. The only reason we were holding the elections was because I wanted to give everyone a fair chance so there wasn't any resentment later on."
Vivienne replied, "Oh. So there won't be any elections for the position of Student Council President anymore?"
Lucas replied, "No. If someone can push me down to second place, they can have the seat, but before that, no. Not anymore."
Vivienne replied, "I see."
Lucas could see that Vivienne was slightly worried. He said, "Vivi, you got this. You've been Vice Prez since the beginning. You already know what to do. I mean, I've already begun handing you my duties, so I know that I'm leaving the Society in good hands. The members will as well."
Vivienne said, "Wait, is that why my workload has been increasing? And what if they don't?"
Lucas said, "Yeah, sorry about that. I just wanted to ease you into the position. And with my endorsement, they will. So you have nothing to worry about, alright?"
Vivienne nodded. Just then, Lucas received another message.
He muttered, "That's it. They are getting penalties."
Vivienne asked, "What happened?"
Lucas said, "You know the fight that happened today?"
Vivienne replied, "Yeah. But didn't Derek handle that already?"
Lucas replied, "He did, but they got into another fight. I gotta go break that up. And this time, I'm giving both parties penalties."
Vivienne said, "You'll have to file the paperwork for that."
Lucas sighed and said, "I know, but it's fine."
Vivienne said, "Need some help?"
Lucas said, "No, I'm pretty sure that Derek and Aurora are already on their way. But if you can, please get me the forms."
Vivienne said, "Sure, I'll leave them on your desk."
Lucas said, "Thanks, Vivi. You are a lifesaver."
The Student Council President had the authority to give penalties, but they had to submit a bunch of forms as proof. This was done to prevent abuse of authority. If it was found that the penalty was completely unwarranted, it would be considered a form of bullying and result in immediate expulsion.
Lucas rushed to the scene and found that Derek and Aurora had already arrived and stopped the brawl. He yelled, "What is going on here?"
Derek and Aurora stared at him. They both understood that Lucas was angry right now. Aurora looked at the ones responsible for this mess pitifully, while Derek muttered, "Oh boy."
