Chapter 104 - 366

Wanted was The Avengers of CCU but Wanted 2 was not the Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

So even if Wanted 2 was commercially successful, it would be hard for the movie to surpass $2 billion.

The movie didn't have heavy characters and most of the cast was new.

Still, despite that fact, the second week of Wanted 2 did well at the box office. Ten days of screening made $292.62 million. An expected amount since the predecessor of Wanted 2 was a $1 billion movie.

As for Wanted 2's two rivals, their box offices were doing well despite the competition. The difference in genres made up for Scary Movie 3 and Brother Bear to make money.

Brother Bear by Walt Disney grossed $49.52 million.

Scary Movie 3 by Miramax grossed $77.54 million.

The winner was clear and the difference between the three movies was huge in terms of the box office.

This gap would further increase as the days go by.

Scary Movie 3 and Brother Bear only had around 3000 theaters screening the movie while Wanted 2 safely netted over 4000 theaters.

This was also one of the factors why Wanted 2 had a better performance.

The Cinema Alliance was not stupid. CCU movies were tried and tested so of course they would put more resources on Wanted 2.

Safe to say that 65% of theaters in the United States and Canada were currently screening these three movies since the United States and Canada had the most theaters in North America.

Walt Disney and Miramax were already satisfied with the outcome and hoped that the box office would steadily increase...

However, their hope would be shattered after ten days of steady income.

Cinema Alliance and the Big Six had a contract where the Cinema Alliance was allowed to decrease the number of theaters if the movie was not doing well... They used this clause to decrease the theaters for Brother Bear and Scary Movie 3 down to 2800 theaters.

Walt Disney and Miramax didn't like this a bit but Cinema Alliance's decision was firm.

As for Wanted 2, it safely didn't experience the decrease.

Cinema Alliance instead added the subtracted theaters to the newest movie in the market which was The Matrix Revolutions. The last installment of the Matrix Trilogy.

The movie started with 3800 theaters in its first week.

Warner Bros realized that they fucked up with the Matrix Trilogy by putting too much trust in the directors and letting them insert too many philosophical views in the trilogy.

These confusing philosophical views were the clear reasons why the movie didn't match Warner Bros.' expectations.

So to fix the mistakes, or to alleviate them, the studio decided to release the last installment in November of the same year so that they wouldn't lose money.

On November 5, despite its terrible reviews on IMDb, The Matrix Revolutions grossed $24.31 million on its first day.

Showing that the audience was ready to consume any content as long as it satiated their time and imagination.

However, the audience who watched the movie also had the same confused faces just like when they finished watching The Matrix Reloaded.

Neo runs to an endless loop in a train station.

Neo getting blind.

Trinity died.

Flying Robot Octopuses attacking the last stronghold of humanity.

Neo meets some kind of machine who has a big face.

Neo defeated Agent Smith.

Neo got kidnapped by the big-face robot.

And then the world found peace again... Meh.

The aftertaste of watching The Matrix Revolutions was bitter. People liked the first movie because the plot was better and there was no confusing stuff. Honestly, what the audience wanted was action and insignificant battles that drove the plot to its well-deserved ending. Not Neo getting blind and then disappearing... Perhaps Warner Bros wanted a possible sequel? Oh surprise surprise, after almost two decades, the fourth installment of The Matrix indeed happened.

Anyway, the first week(November 9) of The Matrix Revolutions grossed $83.79 million.

On the same day, Brother Bear already made $44.02 million.

Scary Movie 3 made $93.05 million.

Wanted 2 also made $342.78 million.

...

...

...

Wanted 2 was released in October and all of the movies that Grey Pictures produced this year were released. All of them made a great amount of money.

The Equalizer grossed more than $450 million. Cinema Alliance already stopped the screening of this movie while some countries overseas were still screening it.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl grossed more than $600 million despite the expectations of many people. The pirate-themed movie was praised by everyone and even Johnny Depp's amazing acting was recognized.

And now, Wanted 2 also doing well at the box office.

"Cheers!"

"Cheers!"

Palenque Simone happily raised his beer and started the party.

Game Of Thrones was set to be released in the last week of November and the promotion was already happening. Fox TV kept promoting the show, by saying that it was directed by Kazir Grey.

Once people heard that the director was Kazir Grey, their interest was immediately caught. Of course they wanted to watch the show.

There were only three remaining episodes that the crew had to film. Of course, if a problem arises, they might have to refilm some of the scenes that they already filmed.

Sometimes, if the audience didn't like the plot, the writers and the crew had to refilm the next episode to appease the audience.

So even though there were three episodes to film, the crew understood that the project was not done until the full season was broadcast.

Unlike movies that had no chance of getting edited once released in theaters, TV Shows could change the plot of the next episodes depending on how the audience would react... Of course, the studio had to spend more money on that.

Kazir was invited to the party since his location was near the filming set of Game Of Thrones.

He missed the taste of beer so he decided to relax a little bit. The cast greeted him with respect, as usual.

"This year seems kinda smooth."

He said to himself while looking at the party
