There were some rumors that Kazir made a young woman cry but it quickly died down. In the first place, Kazir was in front of the public and he didn't do any crime. Another thing was that Elizabeth Holmes was at the legal age, she was just thin.
Kazir could say the most devious curses known to earth, as long as he didn't do a crime, he was safe. However, everything would change once the internet took over.
Cancel culture would become a prominent part of the internet. Where one wrong word and you would be canceled by a bunch of people. Thankfully, it was still 2003, Facebook had not even launched.
Kazir was known for being a gentleman so the woman probably did something wrong.
After that small incident called "Elizabeth Holmes, figuratively", February slowly just passed with nothing much happening.
Well, Nora Jones won the Grammy while Roman Polanski also won the Best Director Award at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), with his movie The Pianist. Since the man was not wanted in the United Kingdom, he attended the Awards.
Except for that, nothing much really happened in February. In fact, only three movies have the power to surpass $100 million this month.
The first was How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.
Second was Daredevil, starring Ben Affleck, released on February 14. The movie was distributed by 20th Century Fox. Because Marvel Comics and 20th Century Fox were still not family at that time of production, the movie didn't have any connections with the upcoming plan of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Daredevil was a stand-alone movie, one of the reasons why it got a mediocre reception... Well, February was never the best schedule to release a movie. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner starred in the film... Two years after the release of Daredevil, for some reason, 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios felt like releasing Elektra. The box office of that movie was mediocre.
So before that project could even start, Kazir immediately talked to Marvel Studio about not starting the project.
Aside from How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and Daredevil, the last movie that had a strong chance of surpassing $100 million was The Jungle Book 2. Of course, a hand-drawn animation created by Walt Disney was not something to be looked down upon. Disney was the king of animation in Hollywood, after all.
March arrived and Bringing Down The House, produced by Touchstone/Walt Disney was released on March 7. A comedy movie starring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah.
Unsurprisingly, only this movie had an amazing performance in March. Nothing really attracted the audience to visit the theaters this month so the ticket sales were low.
However, despite not being an active month in Hollywood, a lot of celebrities were very active this month.
A lot of these celebrities started showing up at many parties, greeting people, and making sure that their names were relevant.
In fact, Tom Cruise and Kazir Grey were doing the same.
Just like that, the 75th Academy Awards officially happened on March 23, 2003.
The Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles was busy with celebrities and directors showing one by one.
The show was telecast live on ABC, with 32 million Americans watching... Usually, the viewing rates of Oscars would be around 40 - 50 million but the ratings this time was below average. Perhaps people were getting tired of the Academy Awards.
Despite that, the show must go on. Many celebrities didn't care about the viewing rates. They just want to get their awards and prove their worth.
Kazir naturally attended the Academy Awards with his girlfriend. Angelina Jolie was wearing a red and white halter dress while Kazir was in his usual black pants, tuxedo, and white shirt.
The couple smiled at the camera, some reporters interviewed them. Kazir hoped that he would win the Best Director.
"Director, how do you feel about you winning the Best Director tonight?"
"I'll be happy if that happens. I already prepared my speech in case I stand on the stage," Kazir and Angelina giggled.
"What are your thoughts on how the Academy justified that they are partial and just? That they didn't control the nominations."
"I'm also a member of the Academy and I believe them."
Kazir obviously voted for The Revenant.
The Revenant only got two nominations and it was the biggest letdown that the Academy did this year. Some news publishers even said that the Academy cooked the nominations against The Revenant.
Of course, the members of the Academy denied that fact and said that their organization was always fair and just... Clearly a lie that everyone knows.
Anyway, Kazir understood that his influence was not enough to control the voting. In the first place, he didn't know a lot of old members of the Academy.
Thankfully, Kazir had the 20th Century Fox to help him. 20th Century Fox was one of the oldest studios in Hollywood and their connections were wider and extensive.
Kazir and Angelina found their seats, next to them were Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz who were still missing.
Kazir looked around and found Nicole Kidman talking with some old people... Since Kazir knew the future, he also knew that Tom's ex-wife would win the Best Actress tonight, something that would cause a ripple between Tom Cruise and his agent Pat Kingsley.
He hoped that Tom would also win the Best Actor tonight.
Nicole stole a glance in their direction, perhaps looking at her ex-husband. Tom Cruise was still not present so her eyes went to Kazir and Angelina instead.
The actress smirked before returning to her seat.
"I don't like that woman."
Angelina whispered to Kazir and the man couldn't help but nod. Kazir didn't have a valid reason but since he was friends with Tom, he also didn't like Nicole Kidman, simple as that.
Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz showed up a few minutes later in a good mood. The two were hand in hand as they sat down.
"You're looking great."
"Yeah, let's just say that--"
Before Tom could reply, Penelope playfully slapped his shoulder. The two just giggled instead.
"I can say that no matter what happened tonight, I'm happy working with someone like you," Tom said to Kazir.
