Chapter 60 - 322

The pros of A Song Of Ice And Fire was the fan base. If Grey Pictures wanted to make this novel into a TV Show, they already have audiences who would watch the first airing of the TV Show which would give the TV Show a better starting line.

However, the cons of A Song Of Ice And Fire was its budget. Based on Stella's calculation, each episode might cost more than 1 million. And that would be on the first season alone.

If the TV Show became a success, then the second season would have an increase in the budget which might not be good for Grey Pictures.

Still, in Stella's opinion, A Song Of Ice And Fire had a better chance than Breaking Bad to make it successful. The fantasy genre alone was enough to get a stable amount of audience to watch the show.

As for Breaking Bad, its pros were definitely the budget. Based on the script, the TV Show was themed on crime and drama. Unlike A Song Of Ice And Fire which needed special effects, Breaking Bad would have a lower budget.

However, the cons of Breaking Bad was its attractiveness to the masses. It didn't have any fan base. It might not be successful. Unless Kazir wanted to add Breaking Bad to the CCU but Stella felt that Kazir didn't want to do it. As if the director had a huge respect for this TV Show to be added to the CCU.

Perhaps Breaking Bad was a masterpiece and Kazir didn't want to sully its name.

Well, the decision would happen today.

Stella Willow entered the company holding a warm cup of tea. The workers greeted her with respect. Everyone knew that Grey Pictures would have a better status in the industry once the acquisition happened. Stella Willow was promised to become the CEO of Grey Pictures.

From General Manager to CEO. Also, her company shares and salary would increase.

Stella's ex-coworkers from NBC were actually jealous of her. NBC might be a bigger company than Grey Pictures but it didn't change the fact that they were just workers. Unlike Stella who became the Boss, only one person was above him and that guy was too engrossed in filming to care about Stella's management.

Well, Kazir was never a fan of business management. He also trusted Stella Willow.

The future of the company was getting better. The revenue that the three movies they released last year was over $1 billion... Although their profit was only around $200 million after taxes and such.

However, the profit they gained from the DVD market and the merchandise they sold were astronomical. It was more than $100 million. Particularly the golden coin from CCU, it was selling so fast that the factories they hired had to work 24/7.

The meeting was set for early in the morning. When Stella reached the meeting room, Kazir and his assistant director Palenque Simone were already there.

Stella already expected that Kazir might be earlier than her... The man was famous for staying in his office almost all the time whenever he didn't have any project to do.

However, Palenque Simone was a different story. The man was not that super strict on schedule.

'Perhaps...'

Stella knew that this was just the initial plan and they still hadn't started anything at all. She was still looking for a director to hire for the upcoming project.

Kazir promised that he would film the first three pilot episodes. But after that, he stepped back and would just remain as one of the members of the writing team.

From the looks of it, Palenque might be the director who would take this project.

'Now that I think about it, Palenque is a Psychology graduate and both A Song Of Ice And Fire and Breaking Bad are heavily themed on Drama.'

"Good morning, Director." Stella greeted her boss. She was already used to calling Kazir as director.

"Hm, good morning." Kazir nodded.

"Good morning Ma'am." Palenque greeted Stella.

"Good morning." She replied.

"Let's wait for the others to show up," Kazir said to the two.

Stella was a bit curious about Kazir's opinion on the Golden Globes Awards last night. Kazir attended the awarding but he didn't win anything.

She looked at the man and realized that he was not affected. In fact, he looked happy. As if he received something great last night.

A few minutes later, Harold Witsend, Jane Kendall, Renner Hector, and other important people in the company showed up.

Harold and Renner were nominated last night but they also didn't win... Their expressions were not good at all. After all, the Golden Globes was a prestigious award ceremony and they wanted to win.

It seemed that Kazir was the abnormal one for looking great and happy.

"Let's start the meeting."

The meeting officially started. Their main topic was regarding the TV Show they Grey Pictures wanted to produce.

Kazir was the one who offered the project. Grey Pictures already had enough power to make TV Shows. One of the reasons why he acquired the TV adaptation of A Song Of Ice And Fire, to be precise, Game Of Thrones.

After half an hour of conversation, most of the executives believed that A Song Of Ice And Fire was the best choice.

Now that they have decided on which one to produce, the budget should be calculated. It might take a week for the budget plan to be on their desks.

Besides, someone had to contact George R. R. Martin.

"By the way, I just want to make it clear. I want to name the TV Show Game Of Thrones based on the first book of the series."

A Song Of Ice And Fire was the name of the series but each book had its own titles.

The first book, released in 1996, had the title of Game Of Thrones.

The second book(1998) had the title of A Clash Of Kings.

The third book(2000) had the title of A Storm Of Swords.

[Aight, since most of you voted for Game Of Thrones, the TV Show that Grey Pictures will produce will be Game Of Thrones. Do you have any recommendations for the role of Daenerys Targaryen? Emilia Clarke was still 17 years old in this timeline and someone like her can't do nude scenes(Yes Game Of Thrones had a lot of nude scenes). So I recommend Jessica Alba instead. You can comment down the names and I'll look at them tomorrow.]
