Past the fur curtains were the imps who were tied to each other by the intestines of some grotesque being that the trolls had slain before their capture. They were originally thirty in number but unfortunately for them five had died in the course of the capture leaving twenty-five of them abducted.
The trolls at first were about to roast them over a fire before a strange thing happened that left every imp surprised. A black mist had descended from the roof of the labyrinth seconds before it covered the black haired troll leader.The other trolls of course wondered what had happened to their leader who had started to show great levels of sophistication as he prevented them from eating the imps and instead insisted on keeping the imps for a time when they didn't have any subsequent food. The trolls of course were very confused for never in the history of their race had they ever worried about what they would eat in the future, after all tomorrow always took care of trolls. Their leader's eye had also lost its dull color and was replaced by a dark color that continued to exude a dark aura that seemed to be never ending. Unknown to the trolls their 'leader' was also responsible for a lot of their comrade's disappearances and he also devoured trolls that were left behind in the hideout or those that questioned its authority. The imps on the other hand had a front row sit as they witnessed the reaper devour the remaining trolls while it animated the generals in order not to arouse too much suspicion from the hunting parties that frequently went out in search for food.This is a conversation that had happened some days before the guys attacked the reaper:"What do you want from us reaper? Jim the leader of the imps asked the reaper for he knew that the reaper was only keeping them alive because of something that it hoped to acquire from the imps. "Since you insist I will get on with it. I was originally a human that was part of the great mages that had ventured into the labyrinth when it was nothing more than a cave filled with tunnels and lost beasts."I and my friends had attacked the heart in order to conquer it and also get some materials for our research. Unfortunately for us the demon upon defeat turned into a tree moment before it absorbed our life force through some forbidden techniques. The rest of my comrades used different methods to preserve themselves but I instead became a reaper in order to restore the life force that has been taken from me. Unfortunately for me the more life force I absorbed the more I became an undead as I slowly lost grip of what made me human. And so all I need from you imps are the location of the treasure trove in the labyrinth for there is a vase located there that is rumored to be contain a guardian's blood that is able to cure all forms of curses. Because it is only a matter of time before I lose every trait of my humanity"."Over our DEAD BODIES! Jim shouted followed by the yells of other imps. The reaper on hearing this smiled before he entered the troll leader's body. "Very well the trolls will eat ten of you today and the rest if you don't change your mind" "You do know that this is a curse inflicted on you by the planet itself, I doubt any creature or artefact can cure you unless they give you a quick and painless death" Jim added with a smile for he knew that the reaper didn't have long before he became nothing but a wild beast. The reaper roared before it pulled Jim's head out of his blue body. "I will question the remaining of you later, so don't even think about playing world hero, after all when I get rid of this 'curse' I will finally be able to get rid of the heart for the glory of Kahtria". The rest of the imps shivered in fear while they watched the reaper exit the ribcage in order to talk to the returning five trolls that had once again failed to catch anything."Are you guys okay? Emerald asked the imps as she and Violet rushed to untie them. "Yes we are, did Fraug by any chance send you here? Asked one of the imps after Violet removed the mouth gag on its mouth. "If Fraug is an imp with a long white beard, then yes" Gale replied with a smile. "We will forever be indebted to you all for saving us" added the imp with a bow."Then you can start by leading us to the 'Dragon spine' so that Fraug can fulfill his end of the bargain" sighed Diamond. Gale shuffled to her side before he whispered into her ear "Way to go, you just ruined our whole good Samaritan outlook". "Don't blame me for being blunt" retorted Diamond. "Sure thing but please my imps have not eaten for days we could use some rest" the imp said as he pointed to his tired comrades. "Of course don't mind our straight forward friend here she is just a little bit tired" Rose said as she brought out what was left of their supplies. A loud voice however captured all of their attention."Helloooo! Imps" Okuagu shouted before he carried an imp by its head. "Nice to meet you too humans" responded the imp kicking wildly in the air as it struggled to get down. "You guys will not believe it, but the troll's leader was actually some sort of undead" said Boaruss waving his hands wildly to express his thoughts. "We kind of already know, in fact you humans should get comfortable for we have a story that you all would enjoy" the vocal imp who introduced himself as Frach said as he slurped some water from a bottle that was given to him by Lee.
