"Who are these beautiful ladies? Gale asked the now seated Okuagu and Boaruss. Rose after taking a look at the flaming tempest squad replied: "I am Rose and we all are warriors from the vermillion falcon squad". "Nice to meet you all" Emerald said extending her hand for a handshake. "The pleasure is ours" Fiona added with a smile; shaking Emerald.
"You are most welcome ladies" Gale added as he praised his luck for finally encountering a group that consisted of only females instead of annoying males. "Still competition is quite tough. I mean just look at Lee" Gale cursed inwardly for it had become clear to him that he might need to pull out all his arsenals to woo any of these warriors. "So how did you gals end up being stuck here? Lee asked; his face being nonchalant as usual. Rose looking at her crew sighed: "You all should get comfortable for this is going to be a very long story"…
"We like everyone else had entered the labyrinth only to be met with vast areas of impenetrable darkness. Using Fiona's gift, we were able to avoid most of the dangerous beasts that roamed the area. Eventually we ran into a primordial spirit that was pretty nice and even helped us with information on how to hunt down some beasts. The spirit turned out to be the ghost of one of four mages that had first ventured into the labyrinth centuries ago. After much persuasion we were able to squeeze out some information about the labyrinth's heart. The spirit had with his comrades engaged the heart of the labyrinth in a vicious conflict. Eventually the mages through a series of spells managed to destroy the demon that was the heart of the labyrinth. Normally that would have meant the end of this accursed labyrinth but the sly demon had a trick up his sleeve. With a final spell the demon transformed itself to a crimson tree all the while absorbing magical energy from the labyrinth, this of course is another fact that makes us to believe that there must be some kind of relation between the heart and the forest. Sadly, this is all the spirit could tell us before with a final message he disappeared. After some days we entered or rather fell into the forest, when we were trying to flee from some massive trolls.
"Trolls? Interrupted the whole squad. "Why yes, do you guys want to hunt them and eat? Laughed Rose. Gale on hearing this laughed: "How did you come up with that thought? "Anyways we met a little imp that seemed to be one of the native creatures of the labyrinth. He promised to take us to the heart if we managed to rescue his fellow imps from their troll abductors".
"An imp? Most of the times imps are nothing more than mischievous creatures with a liking for bad jokes and pranks" Catherine pointed out; her face looking very confused. "I guess you have a point but this imp in particular seemed wise and also we don't have many options do we? Added Gale. Fiona having been lost in thought sighed: "The trolls we met did try to capture us instead of killing us". "So what are you insinuating sis? Asked another member of Rose's group. After pausing to look at the forest Fiona replied: "I mean most of the times trolls are always trying to eat people or bake them into some absurd pastry. They are also not that intelligent which means that they rarely ever go to lengths to capture their prey in one piece". Lee who at this point was getting where she was headed smiled: "So something or someone Is controlling the trolls to capture beings". "Could it be the heart? Okuagu asked for to him that could explain why many humans seemed to be missing. Lee shook his head: "I doubt a demon will have a use of little imps, all I can suggest is for us to be careful when we exist this forest".
Boaruss with a stomp shouted: "So what are we waiting for let's start planning on how to kill this forest". Fiona simply shrugged: "I might have an idea, but we will need a whole lot of flames". Okuagu with a grin covered his body with the flaming patterns. "That will not be a problem"
(Note: Okuagu covered himself with the patterns and did not generate any flame or heat in the process)
