"GET DOWN!!!" Shadow's shrill command came, and Zina didn't need to be told twice before she got down on the floor of the carriage while she held her head in her hand.
The world around her dissolved into chaos that came in the shrewd form of the whistling of arrows flying in the air; some nailing her carriage, and some missing the target while leaving a trail of terrifying, bone chilling, whistling.
"It's a Whistling Silver Arrow, Commander!" Zina managed to hear Ablanch scream to Shadow over the commotion, "and they seem like trained elites!"
Trained Elites? From where? And who would be making such a move under Daemon's nose?
Not a stranger to assassination attempts, Zina was hardly scared. If anything, she was truly curious to know who it was this time around.
