Chapter 1 - ANOTHER UNIVERSE

MOON POV

Finally! The moment I had been waiting for was here. I skipped all the way home, clutching the pregnancy results in my hand, eager to share the news with my husband. My heart danced with joy, and a wide smile spread across my face.

At last, the love between Kendall and me could be rekindled. We'd been married for years, and as Alpha of our pack, he desperately wanted an heir. Unfortunately, I hadn't been able to give him one. He'd grown distant, but now, with this news, perhaps he'd see me as his wife again. Nothing would make me happier.

I entered the mansion, still smiling, and prepared to head upstairs when a maid stood in front of me, smiling nervously. Her behavior confused me as she said, "You're back so early, ma'am." I raised an eyebrow, my smile fading slightly as I tried to process her words. Why was she suddenly so interested in my timing?

"Excuse me, Coraline, I have more pressing matters to attend to," I said, attempting to move past her. But she blocked my way again, saying, "The Alpha doesn't want to be disturbed, ma'am." She rubbed her palms together nervously, which only added to my irritation.

"Trust me, he won't mind being disturbed by the news I'm about to share," I insisted, trying to pass her once more. But she stood firm, and it was then that I realized something was wrong. She gulped, looking down nervously, clearly afraid, as she said, "But ma'am, this is…"

"Step out of my way, Coraline," I commanded, my tone firm this time. She lowered her eyes, intimidated, and slowly moved aside, allowing me to ascend the stairs. I took a deep breath before walking toward my husband's room, still puzzled by Coraline's strange behavior. Something was off, but I decided to deal with it later.

I reached Ken's room, still smiling, and lifted my hand to push the door open. But I froze when I heard loud, disturbing moans from within, accompanied by the disgusting sound of skin slapping against skin. I was stunned, wondering if I had misheard or if my mind was playing tricks on me.

I gently pushed the door open, my smile vanishing instantly as I stepped inside. There he was, ramming into the woman he had introduced to me as his cousin, as if his life depended on it, while her moans of ecstasy filled the room. They immediately noticed my presence. Ken stopped, slowly withdrawing from her, and got up from the bed to put something on. The woman rolled her eyes, adjusting herself on the bed—the bed that was supposed to be ours—as she covered herself with the duvet.

My eyes darted between Ken and Bianca, tears stinging as I struggled to process what I had just seen. Even though the truth was right in front of me, I couldn't fully grasp it. "Did you get the test?" Ken asked, stepping closer, his focus entirely on the test in my hand, as if it didn't matter that I had just caught him cheating with the woman he introduced as his cousin, Bianca.

"Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to say something?" he growled, his impatience growing. I glanced down at the test, my tears now freely flowing, then back up at him as he urged, "Well, say something."

"Bianca…you…" was all I could choke out, my voice breaking under the weight of my tears. He looked back at Bianca, who was smiling, and then turned to me, saying, "Oh yeah. Let me officially introduce Bianca to you. She's the woman I love, the woman I've loved since we were kids, the mother of my son. And now that you know who she is, can I get the test results?"

My heart shattered into a million pieces, and I felt like I was on the verge of losing my mind. Mother of his son? Love of his life? What? Bianca had a three-year-old son, and when I asked her about him, she told me his father never wanted him. But it turns out the child is Ken's, my husband's? I couldn't believe their audacity. Was I dreaming, or was this really happening?

"She… she's not your cousin?" I managed to stammer. Bianca groaned and rolled her eyes, while Ken ignored me, snatching the test from my hand and glancing at it.

"Look, she's finally pregnant," he announced to Bianca, who scoffed and said, "Finally. I was convinced she was barren, but it seems she's not completely useless after all."

"What?" I muttered, completely at a loss. The situation was spiraling out of control, and I couldn't make sense of anything. I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out.

"It seems everything is finally ours," Bianca said as Ken walked over to her, kissing her passionately on the lips right in front of me. Tears streamed down my face, my hands trembling, my lips quivering.

"Wh…why?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. Ken turned to me, an evil smile playing on his lips, and said, "According to your father's will, the full property will only be yours once you have a child. And since you've finally gotten pregnant and already signed over your property to me, I'll get everything when the child is born."

"I… I don't…what?" I stammered, trying to make sense of his words. Ken had been an ordinary pack warrior, my mate, and I had fallen in love with him. As the daughter of the alpha, I made him Alpha when my father died because I believed he had what it took to lead. I didn't know he was a lying, conniving bastard who only wanted me for what I had, not who I was.

"Are you just going to stand there? If you have nothing to say, leave already. I'm busy with her," Ken said, kissing Bianca again, his words cutting through me like a knife. In a fit of rage, I grabbed a vase from the table and hurled it at him, but it missed, crashing against the wall behind him.

"Are you crazy?" he snarled, and I reached for another object to throw. But before I could, he stormed over, grabbing my wrist tightly, glaring down at me. "I'm going to go easy on you because you've got that child growing inside you, but if you even think of doing something crazy again, I'll make things very hard for you," he growled, his tone full of menace as his grip tightened painfully around my wrist.

"I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING!" I screamed, tears streaming down my face. "I gave you everything, and this is how you repay me? All you ever wanted was my property! You never even loved me, you fucking bastard!" I struggled violently under his grip, but he was too strong. He spat out coldly,

"Nobody asked you to do what you did. You were the one stupid enough to give me everything you owned, including the Alpha title." He grabbed me roughly by the back of my hair, yanking me closer as he whispered in my ear, "Now that the truth is out, let me tell you how I really feel about you. Every moment with you has been suffocating. Who do you think you are? I used to think you were something special because you were a princess and I was just a pack warrior. But when I saw how easy it was to lie to you, how desperate you were for love," he chuckled cruelly, "you can't really blame me for taking advantage, can you?"

Tears continued to stream down my face as he shoved me backward aggressively. "Now, you have a choice: leave this room, because I really don't want to hurt you, especially now that you're carrying my child. But if you stay, feel free to watch," he said with a sneer.

"And yeah, thanks for treating me and my child so well," Bianca chimed in with a smirk. "You were so nice, I almost felt bad for tricking you. But at the end of the day, we do what needs to be done," she added in a conniving tone, turning to Ken with a smile. My anger boiled as I watched them, tears rolling down my cheeks.

"I'm not going to let you take everything," I said, my voice trembling with rage. "I break this mate bond between us, Ken. I reject you, and I will make sure you don't take a single penny of what's mine."

The pain of breaking the mate bond was unbearable, almost impossible to endure. I felt my wolf weakening, and I struggled to stay on my feet. But I refused to show any more weakness in front of these traitors.

Ken's expression remained cold and indifferent as he shrugged, saying, "You did what you did. Now leave and go have my child. He's the key to everything I own."

My anger intensified as I remembered all the sacrifices I had made for Ken. My father had been against our love, but I fought for it tirelessly, to the point where my father and I stopped speaking until the day he died. I didn't even get to say goodbye to my own father because of him. Was this the man I had been fighting for? The man I thought I would spend forever with?

Unable to control my rage, I lunged at Ken, feeling destructive. But he caught my hand before I could strike him and growled, fuming with anger, "I told you to stop." With that, he shoved me away aggressively, and I stumbled backward, crashing into something hard behind me. The sound of shattering glass followed.

I had hit my head against the glass, and my vision immediately blurred. I couldn't see anything, and consciousness began slipping away. "Oh my God, you've killed her! Why did you kill her?" I heard Bianca's panicked voice.

"I…I…I didn't kill her…she was being stubborn," Ken stammered, "I didn't mean to…"

"Do you know what this means for us? The council will have our heads, and we won't get anything," Bianca sounded terrified. "Have fun dealing with this because I refuse to die because of you. I'm taking my son and leaving. Have fun reviving her. You're dead," she said, and I heard her footsteps retreating as Ken shook me violently, trying to see if I was still alive.

Slowly, I felt my soul slipping away as my vision faded, and the only sound I could hear was Ken calling my name, trying to bring me back. And just like that, everything went silent and dark. Total silence and darkness. Is this how my life ends? Is this really the end for me? I didn't even get to live my life properly, and now it's all over. It's finally the end.

I couldn't fight it. I let myself slip into the cold abyss of death. I don't remember what happened next, but I knew that first, I felt cold—an extreme cold that was almost too much to bear. Then I felt heat, as if the sun was staring directly at me from only a few feet away, which confused me. The ground beneath me was hard, not just hard, but sandy, and the sand was hot, pinching against my skin.

What is going on? I asked myself. Is this what the afterlife feels like? Then, to my shock, I heard the sound of a horse neighing in the distance. I slowly opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was how bright everything was. The rays of the sun were almost blinding, and I closed my eyes again almost immediately.

What is going on? I asked myself again as I used my hands to block the sunlight, slowly rising to my feet. But I was too weak and collapsed back to the ground. I quickly picked myself up, trying to understand my surroundings.

"Uhn…" was all I could manage as I realized where I was—in a desert, with nothing but sand stretching for miles. I looked down and saw that I was naked, the sand clinging to my skin. I quickly dusted it off, wrapping my arms around my body, looking around frantically, utterly confused by what was happening.

I heard the sound of horses neighing again, and I spun around, spotting three men on horseback. Their bodies were fully covered, likely to protect themselves from the harsh desert weather. Where the hell was I?

"Well, what do we have here?" one of the men mused as they circled me on their horses. "Beautiful red hair," another said, referring to my vibrant red locks. I turned in circles, panic rising, afraid they might stab me in the back or something. They each carried large swords, which only added to my confusion. Who still rides horses and carries swords these days? Where the hell was I, and how did I get here?

"Seize her," one of them ordered. "Madam Agatha will definitely like her, so we'll sell her for a huge price," he paused before adding, "She'll make a lovely addition to her brothel."
