While monsters were divided into levels and ranks, evil spirits were divided into six grades.
From weakest to strongest, they were: Grade 5, Grade 4, Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, and Special Grade.
Lowest-grade spirits couldn't directly harm a person. At most, they could play tricks to scare you.
Grade 4 evil spirits had the ability to kill, but they didn't attack confident and vigilant people. They only targeted fools who let their guard down and looked like easy prey.
Grade 3 evil spirits could reduce a squad of armed humans to smithereens—literally.
