Chapter 7 - Reunion

Ye Yun's carriage finally arrived at his father's imposing palace.

As they approached, Ye Yun observed the surrounding territory. The richness of the fairy Qi in the air was noticeably superior compared to his own palace.

Exotic and rare animals could be seen everywhere, roaming freely, protected by the power of the Ye Family.

The palace was heavily guarded by an army of protectors, including powerful beings in the Saint realm and above.

Here, anyone who entered had to prove their identity, or they risked being mercilessly attacked. This was a constant and unbreakable rule in Ye Changkong's palace.

Ye Yun's arrival did not go unnoticed. His carriage, pulled by four majestic four-headed unicorns, was an unmistakable symbol.

No guard dared to stand in his way; all instantly recognized the presence of the Young Master of the Ye Family.

The unicorns, familiar with the place, quickly found the platform to park.

Xia He, in a soft voice, informed, "Young Master, we have arrived."

Surrounded by Xia He and Qiu Lan, Ye Yun gracefully descended from the carriage. The first thing he saw was a long staircase leading to the palace, with hundreds of steps carved from a marble-like material.

Even though he had been here before, the magnificence of the scene left him in awe. He couldn't help but feel a renewed respect for the power and grandeur of his family.

"Let's go," he indicated to Xia He and Qiu Lan, who silently nodded and began climbing the stairs beside him.

The ascent was quiet, with each step resonating in the air as they advanced toward the palace entrance. Upon arrival, they were greeted by an impressive guard of soldiers.

Dressed in gleaming armor and wielding spears, these warriors exuded an air of ferocity.

They were practitioners with varying cultivation levels, though most were in the Physical Body Realm. The captain of the soldiers, however, possessed a more advanced cultivation, leading his men with authority.

Despite his elevated status, Ye Yun knew that not everyone in the Immortal Domain was a high-cultivation being.

Most of the population was common, but that did not diminish the importance of the soldiers who protected his father's palace.

"Alright, you two wait here until I come out," Ye Yun ordered Xia He and Qiu Lan, who briefly glanced at each other before nodding.

"Yes, Young Master," they responded in unison, respectful and submissive.

With his orders given, Ye Yun advanced alone toward the palace hall, heading to the giant door that loomed before him.

As he walked, the soldiers on either side of the path slightly bowed, greeting him with respect. They recognized his status as the Young Master of the Ye Family and future leader of the family.

Crossing the doors, Ye Yun found himself in the splendid main hall of the palace.

The grandeur of the place was astonishing; every detail was designed to reflect the power and wealth of the Ye Family.

But the most striking feature was the elevated seat at the end of the hall, symbolizing the position of the Family Head.

There, seated with an imposing presence, was his father, Ye Changkong.

Although Ye Yun only knew him through the memories of his predecessor, the image of his father was imposing and real.

Ye Changkong had a stern face, with Chinese features, piercing eyes that seemed to see through everything, and a noble appearance, accentuated by his dark attire with golden details.

Beside him rested a sword, a relic of his past, which he no longer needed due to his high level of cultivation.

Ye Yun felt a mix of emotions as he stood before his father.

Ye Changkong anxiously awaited his son's arrival. Though his face showed the usual seriousness, something in his eyes softened upon seeing Ye Yun enter.

A slight smile, almost imperceptible, formed on his lips, and for a moment, his eyes filled with emotion.

With a voice that denoted relief and contained joy, he said, "Yun'er, you're here."

Ye Changkong's tone, usually relentless, reflected the relief he felt seeing his son standing before him.

In recent days, silent worry had consumed him. His son, who had once fallen into a dangerous obsession that left him unconscious, now stood before him, seemingly healthy.

Despite his past mischief and arrogance, Ye Yun had always been loved by his family, especially by his father, who adored him and granted his every whim.

Ye Yun possessed immense talent thanks to his Immortal Body, allowing him to cultivate at an unparalleled speed, raising the entire family's expectations for his future.

Ye Yun stood firmly before his father, crossing his arms. With a clear voice, he declared:

"Father, I am well now, and my body has fully recovered."

Ye Changkong observed him closely, evaluating every aspect of his appearance and energy. After confirming that his son was indeed well, he sighed deeply, letting out a laugh full of relief.

"That's good, that's good! All is well! Hahaha!" he exclaimed, allowing the laughter to echo throughout the hall.

The danger posed by inner demons was immense, and knowing his son had overcome that obstacle filled him with indescribable joy.

Just then, as father and son exchanged words, a burst of cries filled the air outside the palace. The voice heard was familiar to Ye Yun, a sound he would recognize anywhere.

Before he could react, the doors of the hall burst open, and Yun Yao, Ye Yun's mother, rushed into the room.

Her face reflected a mix of anguish and urgency, as her voice, filled with concern, echoed through the hall:

"Yun'er! Yun'er! Is my Yun'er here?"

Ye Yun, hearing his mother's voice, turned to her calmly, trying to ease her worry.

"Mother, Yun'er is here and has fully recovered," he responded, bowing respectfully to her.

But before he could say more, Yun Yao ran to him with tears in her eyes, embracing him with all the warmth of a mother who feared losing her son.

Her voice, trembling but filled with joy, expressed the emotion that overwhelmed her: "Yun'er, my Yun'er is finally well…."

Yun Yao's embrace was so strong that Ye Yun, for a moment, began to feel short of breath.

"Mother, I can't breathe!" exclaimed Ye Yun, with a tone of urgency.

Hearing her son's cry, Yun Yao realized how tightly she was holding him and, worried, immediately loosened her grip.

Her concern, however, did not lessen. She began to touch Ye Yun here and there, inspecting him, fearing something might be wrong.

As she examined him, her eyes searched for any sign of discomfort, while her heart, which had been tightly clenched with fear for so long, finally began to relax.

Every gesture, every glance, reflected her deep love and devotion for her son.

Since Ye Yun had begun facing the inner demons, Yun Yao had found no peace.

She had sunk into deep worry, fearing for his well-being and blaming Ye Changkong for not having protected their only son better.

In her darkest moments, Yun Yao had thought that her husband had not taken proper care of Ye Yun, allowing him to fall into such a state.

Ye Changkong couldn't say much and only had someone thoroughly investigate what had happened.

And let's say he was very surprised and pleasantly so when he found out what caused his son's obsession.
