A little later and the great gods along with Night Silver were sitting at a table, the sun rising again after a long night. The only one present was Surshana the god of death, perks of being an undead. Or should one call this a curse?
"Sister Nature… I know you're tired, but could you cast the druidic spell to make us less groggy? I don't know how today is going to go, but I doubt it's going to be a short day."
The God of Fire asked, slumped on the table tired as can be. He had been working through the night doing a mix of teaching simple fire spells and keeping the area lit. The God of Life was in a similarly tired state. Though he could only mutter incomprehensible speech.
"Hsmn gib oos dat muha stoof. Tanc u…"
And the God of Life fell asleep utterly exhausted. Why was he so beyond tired? For the same reason that everyone was. They were up through the night performing tasks only they could perform for the moment. While managing to teach a couple of people a spell here or there.
In the long run it was guaranteed to pay off in dividends. However, in the short term, it was utterly exhausting. For humans… Staying up through the night isn't a great idea. But it goes doubly for the gods here. Why? Because their mana doesn't return as quickly as other races. Even Elves have a need to rest comfortably for at least 3 hours at a minimum to make a full recovery on their mana pool. Which begged the question…
"Sister Nature, I know why I can handle the night without sleeping. I'm undead, which means I have no need for sleep. But, how are you still energetic?"
Night Silver giggled for a moment. She looked around at the nature in the world they were in. She looked up at the beautiful morning sky, still a tinge of orange color from the horizon. A glistening haze over the river she made recently. And the many people sleeping in what is definitely not a comfortable bed by modern standards, yet sound asleep with relaxed expressions.
"It's simple, I am Mother Nature. I became like this once I obtained this Job Class. I'm unsure how I gained the qualifications for it. But I can say this for certain, it is not a class a druid could get in Yggdrasil."
With that answer, Night Silver basically admitted she didn't know. But was also declaring that she hadn't been at level 100 during the battles they fought. The god of death was the only one to notice this subtlety. And the only reason why was because he simply wasn't tired.
"So you don't know the reason either… I guess that's fine. Not like any of us know what's going on. I still half expect to wake up in my chair inside of my small apartment. Anyway, you managed to build quite the character. What level were you in Yggdrasil?"
"Huh? Oh, I had managed to reach lvl 100. But I went and attacked the Trinity Guild's Base. I thought it would be fun. You know, a last hurrah or so. I did manage to steal some world items and lots, I do mean quite a bit of gold, materials and data crystals. Ah, they were pissed. I stole quite a bit, but I did die twice."
"HUH! You're lvl 90 and fought that behemoth of a dragon! I wish I had flesh right now… You'd see just how shocked I am. How did you even get that strong!"
Night Silver giggled while sipping on some cold water, she was half waiting for Surshana to calm down a bit. She smiled and looked down at her chilly glass.
"It was really quite difficult actually. I had reached the peak of three of my classes, when a solo World Class Quest was given to me. I assumed it was possible, so I did it. And boom I got two classes upon completion. The Super Tier spells I used to end that fight are only obtainable via these classes. They have some other benefits that would definitely seem unfair to the average player though."
"Oh? Like what?"
"Double stat yields per level for both classes. In short, my lvl 90 is stronger than most lvl 100s."
"That really doesn't seem fair… Almost like a cheat code…"
The god of death, Surshana hung his head, mimicking the tired look the other gods all had. Having played the game for so long and missing out on something that strong was clearly not a fun thought to have.
"Surshana, your greatest weakness, what is it? I mean in a combat sense. Like what is the foe you'd never, ever want to fight?"
Night Silver couldn't let the current situation stand. It was one thing to say it's unfair if they knew the situation. But in Night Silver's eyes…
"Yeah, it wasn't fair at all. Cost me a metric ton of materials and favors from so many people. Oh well, let's see what he says, for now." "Twin Nature's Rest. Triple Nature's Rest."
"Ah, so much better…"
"I feel alive again! Though I could still use that massage sister."
"5 more minutes! I'm comfortable."
"Ahhhh, such a good feeling. I'm afraid we are going to need to rely on you for this while those dragons are here…"
Surshana finished thinking it all over and cut off the others.
"The worst thing… Would have to be one of the highest level angels. Even a level 80 Cherubim would give me cause for alarm. I'm not as freakishly strong as that Momonga guy…"
"Ahh! Lalala! I don't want to be reminded of that raid."
"Pfft… You didn't even fight in it. Ah, well anyway, brother death, imagine fighting one of the ten Archangels on your own as a requirement for a truly overpowered class."
The god of death, Surshana's eyes vanished as he muttered.
"Wha…"
The other gods heard that line and immediately began thinking about what if they had to fight their absolute nemesis. It was a moment of reflection and then realization…
"I take it you completed this task?"
"Of course I did. I couldn't just let my Druid line end there. The quest was designed for one to fight their absolute weakness, in their weakest state and thus overcome it. However… I don't even want to talk about how much that quest cost me to finish it. And I'd argue that the world enemy I fought was the hardest out of them all…"
Night Silver in that moment got a chill down her spine just from the sheer memory of the event. It was a shiver so intense her body couldn't resist getting squirmy for a moment. And some of her water spilled onto her dress.
"Well, anyway. How did the talk with Tsa go?"
Night Silver asked changing the subject as she warmed the water stain away.
"Oh, the 18 thousand people they have migrating here will arrive in about 5 hours now if my math is right. I already woke up all of the cooks that had been assigned breakfast duty. So food should be ready soon… What's this for?"
Night Silver had put a few pouches of berries on the table. One for each of the gods.
"Inside you'll find about 200 berries each. If you see anyone exhibiting the signs, feed it to them without hesitation. You know what I'm talking about…"
The gods nodded, knowing how serious that matter was, didn't hesitate to take the berry pouches.
