Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Rumors of War

Lu Ming, in his imposing 50-meter draconic form, stood in the great hall of his fortress. His very presence instilled respect and fear among those around him. The urgently called strategic meeting had his closest advisors and generals in an atmosphere charged with tension. The Abyssal Dragon Empire had grown, but now, the winds of war blew strongly against them.

**"Master,"** the Draconic Priest began, his voice solemn, **"we have observed suspicious movements in the elven and dwarven territories. They have begun to mobilize troops, and our spies report that they have cut off all contact with our empire. Something big is brewing."**

Lu Ming frowned. The news came as a bucket of cold water. Although he had assumed that they would eventually face greater challenges, he had not expected the elves and dwarves to break their alliance so soon. But his reaction was immediate. **"Send out our closest spies. I need details on their movements and their intentions."**

Soon after, a messenger rushed into the room, delivering a message to Lu Ming. He opened it, his eyes narrowing as he read: The elves and dwarves, fearing Lu Ming's growing power, had decided to call off the alliance and join forces to destroy him before his domain expanded further.

**"So they have decided to declare war on me,"** Lu Ming muttered, his eyes shining with fierce determination. **"They underestimate my power. We will show them the true strength of the Abyssal Dragon Empire."**

**Summoning Reinforcements**

Lu Ming wasted no time. He made his way to his summoning altar, a towering stone monument with runes engraved on it that glowed with a spectral light. There, he began to summon more troops for his army. His resources allowed him to swell his ranks to a total of 10,000 draconic soldiers, a number that would inspire terror in any enemy.

As he made the summons, the air around the altar began to vibrate with a dark, ancient energy. Suddenly, the altar lit up with a blinding light and a majestic figure appeared before Lu Ming: the Dragon Ancestor.

**"Lu Ming,"** the Ancestor's powerful voice said, echoing in his mind. **"You have proven yourself a worthy and powerful leader. The time has come for you to access greater power. You may now summon the Abyssal Dragons, 30-meter beings of pure destruction. But remember, their loyalty comes at a price: 5,000 gold coins."**

Lu Ming felt a mix of awe and excitement. The Abyssal Dragons were legendary, known for their devastating strength and ability to annihilate entire armies. Without hesitation, he agreed to the new power and offered the necessary 5,000 gold coins.

From the altar emerged a titanic being: an Abyssal Dragon, its black scales shining like obsidian under the light of the room. Its eyes, a deep red, reflected the raw power and malice of a being born in the darkest depths of the world.

**"I will serve you, Lu Ming,"** the Abyssal Dragon roared, its voice reverberating throughout the fortress. **"I will bring destruction to those who dare to challenge your reign."**

**Territory Defense**

With his army renewed and the presence of the Abyssal Dragon at his side, Lu Ming ordered his generals to fortify the defenses of the entire territory. Draconic soldiers patrolled constantly, while Draconic Priests raised magical barriers to repel any attacks.

The new Draconic General, appointed to oversee the defenses, began to deploy traps and ambushes on routes that enemy armies might take. Meanwhile, the Draconic Priest was laying out complex magical runes to ensure that the walls of the Abyssal Dragon Empire were impenetrable.

**Preparations for War**

At the end of the day, Lu Ming retreated to his private chamber, exhausted but resolute. He knew that this war would be a challenge, but with the power of the Abyssal Dragon and his strengthened army, he was confident in his ability to overcome any obstacle. As he meditated, he had a vision: he saw a battlefield, with his forces facing the elves and dwarves, but he also saw a dark force hidden in his territory, a power that could tip the balance in his favor.

**"War is coming,"** he muttered, his gaze fixed on the horizon. **"But my empire is prepared. No one will be able to stop us."**
