Chapter 9 - Ch 9 Lapis Lazuli

Rudra was sitting on a floor mat with a few glass flasks, and with all the necessary items kept in front of him in an order. He joined his palms and started to chant the mantra that he had learned from that saint.

Slowly chanting that mantra, he manipulated his kundalini and directed it towards one of his hands. With his other hand, he put one of the ingredients in that bowl, and using his kundalini, he started to extract the raw materials of that ingredient.

After a long time of focus, he finally extracted the raw materials from the first ingredient. But, while extracting raw materials from some ingredients, due to his little mistakes, a small amount of those raw materials was getting destroyed most of the time.

Still, he kept extracting raw materials and stored them in his glass flasks. After a while, he had extracted all the raw materials from the ingredients. Now was the extraction time for the Green line flower and the Spiritual Somna fruit.

He very carefully kept the green line flower and began extracting its raw material. He was deeply focused and didn't want to make any mistakes in extraction. Gradually due to the pressure of his kundalini a green liquid flew out of that flower's core.

The flower seemed to be sucked out of its juice, it began to shrink with the extraction. After extracting for a long time, all the petals of that flower had become pale and blue, and that flower's core had shrunk.

Rudra stored that extracted material in a glass flask. Then Rudra kept the Spiritual Somna fruit in the bowl. Something similar happened; under the pressure of his kundalini, all the liquid started to flow out.

After the raw material of the Spiritual Somna fruit was also completely extracted the main fruit had shrunk down very small as if someone had squeezed it with all their powers. Rudra then filled the raw material in a glass flask and prepared for the mixing process.

He picked up a flask, and after pouring a little fraction of the liquid, he kept back the rest of it. He does the same with other raw materials too, pours a small and equal fraction of them into his bowl, and keeps the rest. He then takes a deep breath and starts to chant the mantras told by that saint again.

He then focused on that bowl and began to mix all the liquid with his spiritual energy. Slowly and carefully, with a calm mind, he mixed all those liquids. After some time, he finished mixing those materials.

Now Rudra needed to pressurize and circulate the kundalini in such a way as to generate enough heat to vaporize the liquid.

Rudra focused his kundalini towards the bowl, covered the bowl with his body energy, and then began to pressurize and circulate the mixed liquid with his spiritual energy. Gradually the heat generated vaporized the liquid, and left behind were the solid particles.

But as his first time, he wasn't able to capture the vaporized gases and let them be absorbed by the solid composition.

Therefore, Rudra then used his body energy to bring the solid composition together and refined them into a small pill. Rudra took that pill in his hands. He looked at his life's first pill. Although, because he made it without putting in the perfect amount of ingredients as per the recipe, it was not that effective, it was still his first pill.

He kept that pill and again poured the raw materials into an equal and small fraction and began to form another pill.

Continuing in this way would make it easier for him to mix the materials, and decrease the chances of the materials being destroyed as well. This way, even if something happened, he had the materials left in his glass flasks. With this, he can form multiple pills with a single set of ingredients as well.

Rudra continued in this way until he was in the middle of extraction for the second time when he felt a sudden pain in his whole body.

This pain was unbearable. He couldn't find out what was the reason behind this, at last, he had to take a fast peek to find that the spiritual energy was on its verge. He then stopped the process of mixing as he began meditating.

After a few minutes of meditation when he recovered enough spiritual energy he again began to form the pills.

He kept repeating the process of forming the pills and meditating until all the glass flasks were emptied.

In the end, Rudra had formed six pills, with a failed pill, he kept all the pills in a box, while he felt a searing pain in his body, such actions of using half of the raw materials and meditating in the midst during the pill formation could cause huge consequences.

It also helped him to increase his practice of medicine formation for the first time. Rudra saw that the morning sky had spread over, and the sun was rising above. Rudra sitting there on the ground, decided to meditate and restore his exhausted kundalini. After a while, he got up and changed his clothes.

He put all the necessary things in his spatial bag as now he was ready to sell his pills, also he had already decided where to sell his pills, in the auction hall. Because he knew the place where he would have the chance to make the highest money, that is the auction hall.

Three hours after sunrise. Rudra was on the streets when he entered an alleyway and came out a boy wearing a mask. It was Rudra who then walked through the streets towards the main center of the marketplace. He knew an auction house, the only auction house in the city. Where he arrived very soon.

'Lapis lazuli Auction house', standing in front of a huge hall, Rudra read the words written on its headboard. Although Rudra found this name pretty weird, without caring much he entered the building. Under the vigilant glances of those fully armored guards when he entered the hall, the scorching and heating feeling of the sun changed into a cold and calm sense.

The lobby seemed quite huge, where people ran to and fro, on the left side were the counters, whereas on the right were the chairs where people sat and waited for the next auctions to begin. Whereas at the center a huge and magnificent chandelier hung from the ceiling.

Rudra sweeps his gaze through that fancy hall and finds a side corridor way to another room. On the door leading to that small corridor, were written the shiny and glowing words, "Consignment department"

That was the room, Rudra was finding. He entered that door, and just a few steps through the corridor led him to a huge room, which seemed to be empty but at the center was a middle-aged man, sitting alone near the table.

That man raised his head as soon as he heard the sound of a door opening and found a boy with a black mask and clothes. His brows furrowed a little but then his facial expressions began to show a sudden change.

"Sir, do you plan on getting something evaluated?", the middle-aged man asked as a professional smile plastered across his face.

"Yes", a cold and a little heavy voice floated out of the boy's mouth.

Rudra walked to the table where the middle-aged man was sitting and kept a wooden box on the table right in front of the man's eyes. That man just opened the box carefully, to find five light green pills, "This is?"

That middle-aged man picked up one of the pills and sniffed it. Just by viewing and sniffing it a shine incorporated with respect for the boy standing in front of him appeared in his eyes, "Sir, Are you an alchemy saint?".

Rudra couldn't do anything else except nodding his head.

"If you don't mind, could I ask…. That what does this pill do?", upon getting the confirmation, the middle-aged man started to treat the boy standing in front of him with even more respect.

Although that middle-aged man was elder, Rudra was a saint and an alchemist, and to form medicines one needed to use their kundalini. As only saints can become alchemists, therefore they deserve much respect compared to ordinary people.

"Spiritual pill, it can help one to increase one's spiritual energy by five-to-ten percent, but as the extent of its consumption increases, its effectiveness decreases."

"Increase one's spiritual energy?", hearing Rudra's explanation, the middle-aged man's expression changed, he was in complete shock.

Everyone in this world knew how important spiritual energy was, as it was very difficult to cultivate spiritual energy alone. Therefore, no matter which cultivation people use, they always try to seize the chance to gain such pills or medicines that would increase their spiritual energy.

"My pill contains calm formulas and the Ayurveda power of the ingredients used are very peaceful, so it won't cause anything dangerous to the consumer.", As if Rudra had read that Middle-aged man's mind, he explained in a calm voice.

"Mister, please wait for a moment, I would like to ask our auction halls alchemy expert to asses this item to determine its authenticity, condition, and potential value.", that man kept that pill in the box on the table in front of him and asked respectfully.

"Sure, but better hurry up", without showing any traces of any expression in his voice, he pulled a chair from the side and seated himself on it.

The middle-aged man nodded, and he immediately stood up and hurriedly rushed out of the room. Rudra just sat there, remaining silent, but still, his thoughts ran inside his mind. After waiting in that room for a while, that middle-aged man returned with an old man.

That old man was wearing a white Kurta with yellow borders and Intricate designs, he was wearing a dhoti as a legwear, following up similar designs as the Kurta. He had a mala (garland) of beads from which floated out a medicinal fragrance, wrapped around his hands.

Rudra could easily feel the spirituality and pure aura of that old man. Rudra stood up in respect and bowed with a Namaste to that old man. Indeed that old man was worthy of respect if he was a saint.

That middle-aged man came to Rudra and introduced the old guy, "This is Mister Devjan, first chakra ninth stage saint.", that man then gestured towards Rudra, "And this is the mister, who wants to consign his pills for auction."

That saint looked up at Rudra and stared at him as if trying to peek inside him, but then the saint nodded as he appreciated Rudra's will to cultivate the saint way. He frowned a little, and then he walked up to the table and picked up a pill kept in the box.

Looking at it carefully, Devjan was trying to inspect that pill.

Devjan releases his spiritual energy and sends it to his hand, and through his spiritual energy he tries to check that pill. Sniffing the medical fragrance of that pill, he stood still for a few moments. He felt another spiritual energy inside that pill, which was due to the pills absorbed Rudra's spiritual energy remnant.

Here Rudra could also feel another spiritual energy that was Devjan's, entering the pill, and running through, checking all its abilities. Suddenly Devjan opened his eyes, with a hint of respect, he looked towards the boy wearing the mask, "Although, this is a rank 1 pill, it seems quite good, each of these could be sold at a higher price."

Listening to these words, the middle-aged man smiled at Rudra and asked, "Mister, do you have any plans on auctioning this thing?"

"Sure I do, but do it as fast as possible.."

"No worries mister, take this VIP pass and head on to the second auction room, very soon an auction is about to begin, we will auction your pills there."

Rudra took that pass, which was a metal card, and left the room. Only after Rudra left the room, that middle-aged man questioned Devjan, "Devjan do you believe he is an alchemist?"

"Yes, he indeed is an alchemist, even while inspecting and assessing his pills, I could feel his spiritual energy.", Devjan still had a lot of respect in his voice for that mysterious guy.

"But the weird thing is, there is not even a single alchemist in this city, when did a person become an alchemist, and I didn't have the news, I guess he is from another city.", Devjan expressed his feelings of confusion and suspiciousness.

"Shall I do some research?"

Devjan paused for a bit before he shook his head, "I think doing so will not be a good idea. If he notices you trying to dig out his history, he may have a bad impression of our auction house, and we can't afford that, no one would want to leave a bad impression on an alchemist in this world."

"As he is the only alchemist in the city except for me right now, having a good impression on him can get us a lot of benefits from him.", Devjan turned around and said, "Remember even if we can't be friends with him, don't even offend him."

"As you say Devjan I understand!", the middle-aged man said with a smile.
