Dressed in a black combat suit, wearing a fox mask with lightning patterns, wielding a short blade, and his black-and-white hair flowing in the wind, it was immediately clear that the person standing before them was Konoha's Little White Fang, Ye Zi.
Ōnoki's eyes filled with murderous intent. Every ninja village had its most hated enemies, and for Iwagakure, their top targets were Konoha's Sannin, the White Fang, the Little White Fang, and the rising star, Namikaze Minato.
And now, Konoha's Little White Fang had foolishly infiltrated Iwagakure. There could be no better time to eliminate him.
Recognizing Ye Zi's identity, the Iwa-nin were immediately invigorated, charging at him with reckless abandon, determined to delay him at all costs.
The Iwa-nin formed a wall of bodies, the leading ninjas charging forward with kunai in hand, launching a fearless assault fueled by their murderous intent.
Seeing the overwhelming number of enemies charging at him, Ye Zi felt a growing sense of unease, especially now that his trump card, Shokui, was no longer available. After shaking off Ōnoki, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and force his way through.
"Lightning Release: Thunder Dragon Armor!"
The lightning surrounding Ye Zi intensified, forming into the shape of a dragon that enveloped him. Positioned at the dragon's head, with the tip of his blade pointed forward, he charged at the wall of Iwa-nin at incredible speed.
This technique utilized the nature transformation of lightning to form a dragon, enhancing both his speed and piercing power. It was the perfect technique for breaking through enemy lines.
The thunder dragon crackled with lightning as it opened its maw, emitting a silent roar. It barreled into the front ranks of the Iwa-nin, knocking them aside with ease as Ye Zi continued his charge, heading in the opposite direction of the village's main gate.
The Iwa-nin hit by the dragon were killed instantly, the sheer power of the attack sending shockwaves through the remaining forces.
"Raise a stone wall to block him!" one of the Iwa-nin commanders ordered coldly.
Upon hearing the command, the Iwa-nin along Ye Zi's path began forming hand seals, causing a series of earthen walls to rise from the ground, blocking his way.
The advantage of Ye Zi's Lightning Release technique was its incredible speed and raw power. Its destruction, defense, and range all surpassed Chidori, allowing him to charge forward without hesitation, even if his eyes couldn't keep up with the rapid movement.
Being in Iwagakure worked in Ye Zi's favor, as he couldn't use large-scale destructive jutsu without risking harm to civilians. This gave him an edge, as Ōnoki's chance to obliterate Ye Zi with his Dust Release had passed when he trapped him in the stone prison earlier. Wanting to leave a complete body behind had cost Ōnoki his best opportunity, and there wouldn't be another unless Ye Zi left the village.
As the earthen walls shot up from the streets, blocking the path ahead, the thunder dragon, acting as an unstoppable blade, pierced through each one with ease. Ye Zi's speed didn't falter, and under the astonished gazes of the Iwa-nin, he had already broken through a great distance.
Seeing that earth-style jutsu wasn't enough to stop him, many Iwa-nin resorted to hurling kunai, and soon a hailstorm of kunai rained down on Ye Zi.
Ye Zi paid no mind to the overwhelming number of kunai, trusting that his lightning armor would deflect them.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The kunai bounced off Ye Zi's lightning armor, scattering uselessly.
However, the Lightning Release technique Ye Zi was using consumed an enormous amount of chakra, and the consumption was continuous. He couldn't maintain it for long, so he needed to escape Iwagakure as quickly as possible. He couldn't afford to be delayed or caught up in unnecessary battles.
Before long, Ye Zi had crossed half of Iwagakure, but both Ōnoki and the Five-Tails Jinchūriki, Han, were rapidly closing in on him. Han, clad in red armor and wearing a straw hat, moved with incredible speed, steaming with heat as he ran. His speed seemed to rival Ye Zi's lightning-enhanced movement, drawing parallels between the two techniques.
Ōnoki flew after them, while Han sprinted along the ground. The Iwa-nin understood that only Ōnoki and Han could stop Ye Zi, so their task was to slow him down.
"Raise more stone walls and support with attacks!" a command was quickly relayed.
Once again, earthen walls began to rise, forming a barrier.
"Earth Release: Hardened Stone Wall!"
Voices rang out in unison as the stone walls were reinforced with rocky outcroppings, making them even sturdier.
"Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet!"
"Earth Release: Earth Flow Speaers!"
"Earth Release: Earth Mausoleum Stone Bullets!"
"Earth Release: Rockslide!"
In an instant, a barrage of earth-style techniques, forming rocks and stones of various shapes, flew toward Ye Zi, like a flock of birds returning south. The attacks were densely packed, covering every angle and leaving no room for escape.
With reinforced stone walls, a barrage of ninjutsu, and the combined efforts of Ōnoki and the Iwa-nin's core forces behind him, Ye Zi found himself ensnared in an inescapable trap.
"I can't retreat, and I can't stop. If I stop or hesitate, it's over," Ye Zi thought with steely resolve.
He had broken through many encirclements before, always moving forward without stopping, cutting down any obstacle in his path with his short blade. Even knowing that continuing forward meant taking damage, he never hesitated because he understood that even a moment's pause could lead to disaster.
Breaking through meant moving forward relentlessly, with no turning back—one could die while advancing, but never by standing still.
Ye Zi's eyes narrowed with determination as he instantly increased his chakra output. The intense heat from the chakra burned his skin, filling the air with the scent of singed flesh.
The Thunder Dragon around him suddenly doubled in size, using up more than half of his remaining chakra.
Boom!
The first attack to land was a massive boulder, which struck the Thunder Dragon with a loud crash, shattering into fragments. Immediately afterward, a barrage of Earth Release jutsu rained down on the dragon, like the rolling thunder of an approaching storm, echoing throughout Iwagakure.
Despite increasing his chakra output, Ye Zi's speed began to slow under the sheer volume of attacks, but he managed to withstand the assault.
The Thunder Dragon's size shrank as his chakra reserves grew dangerously low.
As he continued moving, two spirit forms shot out from his shoulders, attacking a careless Iwa-nin. The spirits easily tore out his soul, devouring it and allowing Ye Zi to recover a small amount of chakra—but it still wasn't enough!
"Be careful! Don't let the spirit touch you!" someone shouted after witnessing the Iwa-nin collapse, his soul devoured. The nearby Iwa-nin's faces paled as they warned each other.
This unpredictable and unstoppable jutsu was terrifying.
Ye Zi showed no mercy. As the spirits devoured another soul, he landed on the roof of a nearby building. With a powerful leap, his feet cracked the structure, and his Thunder Dragon-encased body crashed through several more stone walls. After briefly being slowed, he punched through yet another barrier and gained more ground.
However, even with the protection of his Lightning Release technique, the relentless barrage of attacks had slowed him enough for the Jinchūriki, Han, to catch up.
"Steam Cannon!"
The red-armored figure appeared diagonally in front of Ye Zi, unleashing a massive blast of superheated steam in his direction.
