A portal shimmered and opened, and from it stepped Nolan Fiske. Ellice, sensing the portal's presence, swiftly summoned an ice spear, ready to defend herself.
"Oh... it's you, Uncle... good morning," she said, relaxing slightly.
"Hmm, you never learn to let your guard down, do you?" Fiske remarked with a sincere smile. He had been her tutor and guardian since her parents' death, understanding her better than anyone else.
"Hmm, says the man who always taught me never to let my guard down," she thought to herself. Out loud, she addressed him, "If you don't mind, Uncle, I'd like to be left alone," she said coldly. Her mind was still preoccupied with the recent events involving the ice dragons.
"Alright," Nolan replied, his tone gentle. "I just came to remind you that you still haven't had breakfast. The kitchen servants made your favorite." He smiled again and disappeared in the same manner he had arrived.
