Lukas was startled and his eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the ceilings which seemed strange to him. His head became heavy as memories of two different lives collided within it. His initial life was as the Slime Lord, a species with a capacity to absorb magic thereby evolving into a more powerful creature. The second one Lukas de Arcadia, who was the youngest son of the highest noble family in the kingdom. These memories made Lukas have a little headache but later on they were replaced by coolness, joining up with them making one memory.

The apartment he was in was beautifully decorated to fit any noble family. The morning sun threw its golden rays through the wonderful windows thereby adding to the beauty of the room. He took a deep breath, trying to adjust to his new reality. Lukas D'Arcadia's memories of his life now stayed with him, giving him a sense of purpose.

Suddenly, he heard a gentle knock on the door which pulled him out of his thoughts "Young master, it's time for your lessons" A soft feminine voice called out. 

Lukas quickly stood up, knowing what to do, he replied "I'm coming, just a minute" He quickly combed his hair and smoothened his clothes before walking toward the door.

Lukas walked through the hallways, his memories as the slime lord deemed this large hall as unfamiliar but he knew just where to go due to his new memories. He quickly found himself running toward the library where his tutor waited

"Careful, young master, you may fall ill while running around that way" A maid warned with a slight smile on her face. 

The library was a large room, decorated with ancient runes, shelves of ancient scrolls and magical books were arranged neatly. In front of these shelves was a wooden desk where a man sat, his eyes going through the scroll he was holding. He had white beards and blue eyes. His eyes darted off the book when he noticed Lukas's arrival

"Good morning young master" He greeted as a warm smile spread on his face. 

"Morning, Instructor Elric" Lukas replied as he took a seat opposite Elric, who was getting ready for the lectures 

"Today, we shall delve into ancient magic and the creatures that once roamed our world and some who still roam even today" Elric spoke, his voice clearly carrying the weight of what he was saying. It seemed it was very important. 

"There was once a powerful creature known as Slimes" Elric paused and then continued "They were very powerful due to their ability to absorb magical energy and then evolve through that process,"

Lukas's mind instantly drifted off to the pride and power he held in the past as the Lord of these slimes, "Wait! Did he say, they once roamed the earth? Does that mean they aren't alive now?" Lukas thought worriedly. 

"However, even as powerful as these slimes were, they were eradicated by another creature known as ice dragons which could control ice as their name implies.

Lukas's hands suddenly clenched into fists at the mention of the dragons. "Didn't I end this war already after killing their lord, Leviatho?" What's going on?" He thought and then asked a question "Um... Professor, why did the ice dragons target the slimes? What offense did they commit?"

Elric sighed, looking sorrowful " The ice dragons saw the slimes as a threat to their dominance and also to the world. Their ability to absorb magic made them evil as they began to feed on humans, hence the dragons assisted us in fending them away. We are indebted to them"

"Tch" Lukas gritted his teeth in anger "What damn threat?" He thought and then asked "Is there anything left of the slimes?"

"I doubt that, young master, they were totally eradicated. Not even a trace of their magical energy can be found again and ever since then, ancient magic started declining,"

"What ancient magic is left?" Lukas asked.

Elric was deeply intrigued by Lukas's inquisitiveness as a smile etched on his face "From what I know, we only have teleportation magic, barrier magic, and Um.... Shadow magic"

"Hmm, so that means humans can only use basic elemental magic hmm? I think this is the work of the dragons" Lukas thought.

"Thank you, professor, I'll take my leave now" Lukas stood up "I have much to think about, considering that I'll enter the academy tomorrow, I'm 16 now Y'know"

Elric nodded in understanding "Remember, young master, knowledge is power, use it wisely" 

As Lukas left the study hall, his mind was filled with thoughts. He had to think of what he'd do. There's no way I'd allow these dragons to roam around as they please, but first I'll have to find out what they're up to" Lukas's eyes glowed with an eerie red color. The Slime Lord has returned and the dragons would feel his wrath
