Sam was a 14-year-old boy, an orphan who had been raised by his loving grandmother in a small, quiet town. Life had never been easy for him, but he found solace in the simple routines of everyday life, away from the trouble of cities.
His small town ,almost village was hard to live in despite being quiet and peaceful. Robbers ,muggers, chainsnatchers which would make certain neighbourhoods unsafe to live in.
One evening, Sam set out on his usual trip to the grocery store, a task he did every week to help his grandmother. The sun had just dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange. The streets were quiet, and the cool breeze brought a sense of peace.
But as he walked, he noticed something unusual—a man was struggling in the middle of the road, seemingly unaware of an oncoming truck speeding towards him.Without a second thought, Sam dashed forward, pushing the man out of harm's way.
But in doing so, he placed himself in the truck's path. Time seemed to slow as the truck barreled towards him. He closed his eyes, bracing for impact, but instead of pain, he felt a strange sensation, like being pulled through a tunnel of light.
When Sam opened his eyes again, he was no longer on the familiar streets of his town. Instead, he found himself in a lush, vibrant forest, unlike anything he had ever seen. The trees were towering and ancient, their leaves shimmering with a golden hue. The air was filled with the scent of flowers, and in the distance, he could hear the gentle murmur of a stream.
Confused and disoriented, Sam looked around, trying to make sense of his surroundings. "Where am I?" he wondered aloud. As he took a step forward, he noticed that his clothes had changed. He was no longer in his simple jeans and t-shirt, but in a tunic made of soft, sturdy fabric, and a pair of leather boots that felt surprisingly comfortable.
Before he could process what had happened, a soft voice spoke from behind him. "Welcome, young hero. You have been chosen."Sam spun around to find a figure standing before him, cloaked in white with a gentle glow surrounding them. The figure's face was obscured by a hood, but their voice was warm and kind.
"Chosen? For what?" Sam asked, still trying to grasp the reality of the situation."To explore those worlds," the figure replied. "You showed great bravery and selflessness in your world, and that act of heroism brought you here. This is a world in need of people like yourself, and you, Sam, have been called to be one of them."Bravery? My legs moved without me trying , if it were upto me then I wouldn't do it."
"Sam's mind raced. He had read stories about people being transported to other worlds, but he never imagined it would happen to him. And yet, as he stood there, a strange sense of fear and curiousity began to fill him.
His life had always been about surviving, but now, it seemed, he had a chance to expirience something new, it scared him."W-what do I n-need to do?" Sam asked, his voice shakey.
Sam stared at the glowing figure before him, still trying to comprehend what was happening. The figure, sensing his confusion, lowered its hood, revealing a face that was both ancient and ageless.
The figure smiled warmly."You can call me ROB," the figure said, their voice echoing slightly in the forest. "It stands for Random Omnipotent Being."Sam blinked. "Wait, what? Random? Omnipotent?" He wasn't sure if this was some kind of dream or if he had finally lost his mind.
ROB chuckled. "Yes, random. , Now, let's get to the fun part."With a wave of ROB's hand, a large wheel appeared out of thin air, hovering in front of Sam. The wheel was divided into countless sections, each labeled with the name of a different world. Some names Sam recognized from books, movies, and anime, while others were entirely foreign to him.
"Here's how it works," ROB explained. "This wheel will determine the world you'll be sent to. Exciting, right?"Sam's heart began to race as he scanned the names on the wheel. He saw worlds that were peaceful and idyllic, but he also saw names that sent a shiver down his spine—worlds filled with danger, conflict, and powerful enemies."What if I end up in a place like that?" Sam thought, anxiety gnawing at him.
"I'm just a normal guy. I don't know how to fight, and I've never been in a situation like this before. And what about Grandma? What will she do without me? She needs me..."Sam's thoughts spiraled as he realized the enormity of the situation. He wasn't just on some grand adventure; he was being thrown into a world where he might not survive. And he had no idea if he'd ever see his grandmother again, the only family he had left.
Seeing the worry etched on Sam's face, ROB leaned in with a mischievous grin. "Don't worry too much. I'll give you a gift—though I won't tell you what it is just yet. Where's the fun in that?"Sam gulped. 'A gift? What kind of gift? What if it's something useless? What if it doesn't help me at all?' The uncertainty made his stomach churn. But what choice did he have? ROB wasn't exactly giving him an option to refuse.
Taking a deep breath, Sam nodded, trying to steel his nerves. "Okay... Let's do this."ROB clapped his hands, and the wheel began to spin. Colors blurred together as the wheel picked up speed, and Sam's heart pounded in his chest. "Please, not something too dangerous… please…"The wheel slowed, clicking as it passed over each section. Sam squinted to make out the names, his anxiety growing with each click. Finally, it began to stop, the pointer moving slower and slower until it settled on a name that Sam knew all too well.
"Naruto," Sam read aloud, his voice barely a whisper. "Wait, isn't that…?""Ah, the world of ninjas!" ROB exclaimed, clearly delighted. "But not just any time period—you're going about 45 years before the start of the anime's first episode. A rather interesting era, wouldn't you say?"
Sam's mind raced as he tried to recall everything he knew about the Naruto universe. "45 years before the story? That's the time of what ? First or second ninja war… Isn't it dangerous?I don't even know much about the plot, I'm going to get killed before I even know what's going on!"His thoughts were a whirlwind of panic, but somewhere in the chaos, a small voice of determination spoke up. "I have to survive. I have to find a way to protect myself… and maybe, just maybe, I can find a way back home. Grandma… I'll find a way to return to you."ROB noticed the resolve slowly forming in Sam's eyes. "Good luck, Sam," ROB said with a wink. "Remember, you've got a gift waiting for you."Before Sam could protest, the world around him began to warp and twist.
The forest, ROB, the wheel—they all blurred together, and Sam felt himself being pulled into a vortex of light. His last thought before everything went dark was of his grandmother, and the promise he silently made to return to her, no matter what.
