Chapter 5 - Chpt. 5 - The Child Cried

[In the cellar of the Hoperri Coliseum]

Crans, or we know now as Cyrus, was currently fixing his leg which was broken by David 'I won't give up just from this, I'm so close to achieving my goals!!

Plan B, though this is a waste, I should take this safer route!!' Cyrus thought as he grunts after applying a strange brew on his leg before drinking it.

His leg rapidly returned to it's original state and his wound on his ankle disappeared but consequently all his scars that covered his body vanished and he looked at least a few years younger than he was, and subsequently his leg started to deform into that of a beast; growing longer nails like claws, turning purple, and it began pulsating.

"Curse my luck, the side effects are noticeable I won't be able to kill Maximus through backstabs, I guess I'll have to go head on" Cyrus stood up from his previous position: laying down on the floor, "I feel.... Unstoppable...."

He walked out of the Coliseum and into the village, he was given many gazes but he ignored them as he waited in the port before finally seeing his warships get close "Let the new era of beasts rise"

==================

[Meanwhile, in the corpse canal of the Coliseum]

Floating with the other bodies down the canal, David was in so much pain as he tries to pull out the dagger 'I can't die here, not yet until I save Erisotle or at least get him away from this place', finding a motivation to live on, even if it was only for a little bit, he tried his everything

He kept pulling out the dagger from his back inch by inch as he lay on top some corpses which are flowing down the canal/stream, 'it's madness, whatever is happening uo there, I presume' he states as he hears screams, yells, and saw drips of blood from the ceiling of the canal

The village atop was currently in the process of utter destruction,

David ignored those, not because he can willingly but because his mind was filled with pain as his stab wound healed every few minute whilst the blade was still in, "*Kugh-uck, ahhg" he wasn't able speak properly as he kept wheezing in pain, gurgling on blood and feeling his organs rip and open multiple times as he continued.

——–——1 hour later——–——

After bleeding and healing slowly multiple times from pulling out the dagger, David has fully pulled it out,

Currently, he's now on the canal's end, which was connected out onto the ocean but he avoided drifting off onto the sea by weakly yet quickly swimming his way onto any land the moment he was pushed out of the canal

'where am I?' David wasn't quite well informed about all of the canal exits in the village, so he kept floating, he moved by pushing and pulling against the rock walls of what he presumes as the side of a small cliff.

After finding a good spot on the cliff where there seems to be stable rocks to climb on, he began his ascent up the side of the little seaside cliff (20 feet)

Though having incredible strength that to athletes', he still human in mind so he's really afraid of falling, 'Sh**'

With his weak will and trembling hands, he climbed slowly while clenching his teeth tightly on the dagger he brought, which was on his back moments ago,

Moments later after scaling the seaside cliff, David layed sprawled on the ground, "*huff.... I know where this place is",

it was the seaside cliff route he took, he took a deep breath; and

He stood up before he started walking then he quickly increased his pace and fully sprinted to Erisotle's farm, desperately doing his best to run as fast as he can, though his form of running was frantic, evident as he keeps slipping on the dust and sometimes faltering as he keeps hitting his feet on rocks

'I should've been selfless, you better be alive!--' "--please!!" David cursed at his past reluctance; he never wanted to use his weird strength, ever since he found out how much meaningless it was in the face of high positions.

David finally reached to the farm but he slowly began to stopped running as his eyes saw horror from his view—he was in front of the apple tree farm—it was burning in flames that seemed to nearly reach the clouds.

He ran straight inside the burning forest of apple trees, he smashed through the door of the house only to see a mangled, bloodied corpse, but what was most noticeable was that in his hand held a walking cane he had made for his adoptive father—Erisotle—David saw as he looked ay the corpse's face,

'this isn't real.... Please....' his eyes shaking in terror

Tears start to well up as he fell to his knees, 'Why... does everything turn out this way?', a feeling of churning came from his stomach as he felt his heart tighten yet at the same time, beat steadily, hopelessness? No this was despair, and a pain that he could never understand - a feeling of losing someone important to you.

"Cruel world isn't it, Theo... sorry--" a warm soft voice spoke

"---Who... what was that?" the little boy didn't know he was shedding tears, while he's confused about such feelings, he was sure that something ticked inside him

David winced, "AAAAAAAAAAAGHH!!!!!!!!" he then started bashing his head on the ground multiple times to the point of bleeding, "WHY!? WHY?! I... I hate...--" he wasn't able to speak for he has no one to truly blame for this, though having memories of being old is good for understanding maturity, deep inside he was still a child, and that child cried in sorrow "I'm sorry.... Just, kill me, please... Make it stop" tears began falling down on the ground, he stopped bashing his head on it

After a few painful moments, he doesn't look stable at the moment—his eyes were hazy and red, his forehead bleeding, and his expression, sadness and pain—only reminiscing of joy and ignoring the heat surrounding him, sometimes smiling in sorrow or catching his breath at the back of his throat, he remained quite in sadness as he sits on the ground hugging his knees, and there on the floor - the child cried silently.
