Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

As Mayank and Reeta stepped through the doorway of their home, a heavy silence settled between them. Reeta could sense that something was wrong. Mayank's eyes were clouded, his shoulders tense. "Mayank, what's bothering you?" she asked.

He turned away, heading toward the bedroom without a word. The door shut with a bang, leaving Reeta feeling adrift. This was the first time he had turned his back on her. What if he went back to Maira? the thought gripped her heart with fear. She had fought so hard to be with him—she couldn't let that happen.

Despair washed over her. She remembered Maira's graceful smile and the warmth of their shared history. I won't lose him, she vowed silently, determination igniting within her.

Meanwhile, Reyan sat quietly in the living room, his thoughts swirling. He couldn't shake the image of Pari from his mind. She had looked so radiant at the wedding, her laughter lighting up the room. But he forced himself to look away. I made the right choice, he reminded himself, casting lingering glances at Niya. Pari is beautiful, but she has nothing else.

Am I settling? The question nagged at him. He took a deep breath, trying to push away the unsettling feelings. Stop it. Focus on what you have.

After the wedding festivities, Pari felt utterly drained. She stumbled into her room and collapsed onto the bed, welcoming the comfort of sleep.

A little while later, her husband entered the room, glancing at her. She lay sprawled across the bed, completely unaware of the elegance expected of a lady. He chuckled to himself. You'll never change, he thought fondly, gently nudging her. As she turned slightly, he slipped into the small space beside her.

The next morning, sunlight peeked through the curtains, prompting her husband to wake early. After a shower in their uniquely designed bathroom—functional yet soothing—he dressed in clothing made by Pari, the fabric soft and familiar against his skin. He felt at ease, a rare sensation in the royal household.

Meanwhile, Lily, their maid, bustled into the bedroom, determined to rouse Pari with the aroma of a delicious breakfast. As the scent wafted through the air, Pari stirred and sat up, ready to face the day.

At the breakfast table, Veer watched his wife as she casually enjoyed her meal. She looked effortlessly beautiful, her hair flowing naturally, lacking any elaborate adornments. There was something refreshing about her unpretentiousness. She lived life on her terms, unbothered by societal expectations.

As Pari relished her breakfast, Veer felt a wave of warmth. Her simplicity drew him in, filling him with a sense of peace he especially cherished. After the meal, he glanced at her one last time before heading out to the Royal Palace to fulfill his duties.

Arriving at the palace, fellow royals welcomed him, noting his striking appearance. "Brother," one of them exclaimed, a smile tugging at their lips. "That garment is incredible! You have to get one for me too!"

Reyan, overhearing the conversation, felt a hint of surprise. Veer beamed proudly. "Talk to my wife; she designed this one."

His brother raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "So, that means you have exclusive access?"

Veer chuckled. "Not at all. She has a business, so you can purchase your own from her."

As the banter continued, Reyan's jealousy simmered beneath the surface. Seeing Veer's pride in Pari stirred a whirlwind of emotions. What am I missing?
