"Nobody is going to help us. It's just you and me, if we don't help eachother now we are going to die. It's not a possibility, it's a fact. It's rare that people from outside the walls come to the city and I highly doubt that anyone got far enough to get help, that means we don't just have to navigate through a town full of monsters but have to find a way to open the gates of the wall to even get out the city. The chances are fully against us, feel free to scream at me, insult me if you want to, you can do whatever the hell you want but do it when we're out of this mess." I stare at him surprised, fuck, why is he more reasonable than me, I've trained all my life for dangerous situations and when it really matters a spoiled rich kid is more composed than me, seriously? I guess even though he doesn't care about me, he'll still be useful because he cares about himself. More than he cares about anyone else probably, that's just the way thigh class people like him are, always looking down on everyone else. Not important now though, I have to get my shit together and finally do what has to be done, even though I'm scared of what might be inside this house.
I turn back to the house, taking a deep breath. I can do this, I'm fine, I'm okay, everything is okay. I use my full body to slam against the door and it breaks open. Wow, can't believe that seriously worked. I step into the house, Dion closely following suit behind me. "I'll check upstairs", he walks up the narrow staircase out of my sight and I begin to check the few rooms downstairs. Eloria's house is not huge but it's slightly better than most other houses in the city since it even has a tiny backyard, something that only the rich families have. I check that first, the backdoor is open and when I step outside my gaze immediately settles on a small area of the wooden fence that has been broken down by sheer violence, leaving a gaping hole big enough for a person. Or something that was a person once. Oh no, don't tell me...
I hurry back inside, sprinting up the stairs but Dion steps in my way, a bit paler than before and looking at me with a pityfull gaze. No, no, no, No. This is not how this was supposed to go. "I'm...I'm so sorry Khestri. She's dead." I can feel the tears streaming down my face and hear my own sobbing before I even register that I'm crying. I try to push my way past him on shaky legs but he steps in my way, putting a hand on my arm to steady me a bit. "You don't wa-....I don't want you to see that. I don't want you to think of that every time you think of her, it's.....a mess in there. There's blood everywhere and the body is mutilated. That's not how we should keep our loved ones in our memory."
