Chapter 6 - Adventurer's Guild (part 1)

After the nerve wracking battle and revelations Zein made his way into Akutagawa Wonderland Cafe and met Akutagawa waiting for him at the counter with a serene expression and funny enough the bar looked spotless. It's as if there wasn't a battle here prior a few minutes ago.

'How the bar looks pristine and he has a serene expression and aura I have no Idea,' Zein thought with a sweat drop.

"Thank you for saving my shop because I don't know what I'd do without the shop," Akutagawa said in a tone filled with gratitude.

'Damn this guy needs to set his priorities straight. He values the shop more than his own life, this senile young but old man,' Zein thought in exasperation, nearly face palming in the process.

Zein gave out a curt nod and was about to take his leave when he felt a hand tugging at his sleeve and saw the man giving him a bright smile before placing a pouch of gold coins in his hands urging him to take the pouch along with him but Zein pushed back his offer.

"Instead of giving me the pouch of coins, instead use them to fix your shop," Zein said, his deep baritone voice settling into one of assertiveness.

"It's not polite to refuse a gift from a person despite helping them. Don't worry about the shop, I got enough money to take care of the damages," Akutagawa said in a tone of finality showing his stand on the matter.

Zein on seeing that Akutagawa was not changing his stance on the matter he begrudgingly accepted the coin pouch and left while giving a small wave while leaving the shop to go towards the Adventurer's guild. He trekked on the dusty desolate streets of Imperium and walked to a large building that was on the outskirts of the capital. He saw the lights in the building were on but the door was barricaded as it was nighttime. He remembered that there was an underground entrance so he had to circle the building in order to use it. He reached at the back entrance and saw a keypad lock he fiddled with it as he tried to remember the password allocated to him specifically he entered the wrong password and saw a hologram.

(Access Denied x4)

"What the Hell!" Zein shouted in frustration.

"I have used the same password all the time. So what's up right now," Zein asked aloud in confusion.

He went where exactly he knew the underground entrance was positioned. He knocked but upon getting no response he got angry and the air around him shimmered as the heat in the area grew rapidly and a lot of heat gathered at his feet. He raised his left foot and brought it down in a quick fashion causing him to break open the entrance and once he did the heat disappeared it was as if there was no heat in the area in the beginning. This was something that the residents of the area would term as one of the weirdest phenomena to occur for a long time. Zein jumped in once he saw that the entrance was open he glided down the shaft and did a backflip in midair to regain his balance. Once he touched down he saw a barrage of arrows heading straight for his head he jumped to the side narrowly missing the arrows. He had unknowingly jumped into the path of a battle axe that was aiming to impale his head. Once he sensed the axe deciding against destroying it he slowed down his momentum and jumped out the way just in time but into the path of flame throwers which were gunning for his hide. He made it past all the traps and met the final adversary if he wanted to gain access to the guild.

(B+ class monster :Lamda)

The monster was horrendous looking. It stood on its hind legs, had bat-like wings and resembled more of a panther appearance wise causing it to blend properly in the darkness while its dark red eyes looked like raging infernos illuminating the dark space. Its eyes gazed at Zein's form as if it were his prey and meal of the day. The monster took a swipe with his paw only for it to hit an after image causing it to be confused, this made its hungry red orbs dart across the room looking for its prey. It swiped its paws down causing two bright red lights to randomly attack a pillar where it thought its prey was hiding. Little did it know that the predator had become the prey. The room momentarily went dark and the monster's danger senses were on high alert as something entered the periphery of his vision only for the monster to see a flash of fire leading to it instinctively leaning back so as to avoid the attack that was gunning after his head.

"I missed huh. Well, that's interesting I have never missed but there won't be a second time," Zein said in his deep baritone voice that carried an ominous feeling.

The heat in the room increased drastically to unbearable amounts making the monster take an involuntary step back. The heat gained and concentrated itself at the feet of Zein forming the visage of a demon that is ready to demon that is ready to consume whatever is in its path. The monster had a blood red beam concentrating in its mouth to act as a counter of the attack. The monster launched the beam obliterating anything in its way. Zein disappeared from the line of the beam but little did the monster realise that Zein was above it and that it was in the line of his attack. The monster felt an odd amount of heat above its head and glanced up to see a small figure coated by fire.

"Pie De La Muerte,"

Zein called out in a small voice that carried into the area that they were fighting. The monster tried to jump out of the way in order to evade the attack but instead it was futile as the attack landed on its head and it exploded in a show of blood and gut staining the walls red from the aftermath of the attack. Zein realised something was odd with the monster as he saw as if the blood and the carcass in front of him were like static and glitching crazily kicking his danger senses in overdrive causing him to jump out of a deadly swipe that would have ultimately detached his head from his body and he looked at his new adversary as the illusion disappeared causing him to be shocked as monster 3 times larger than the previous one was in front of him.

(A++ Monster :True panther Lamda)

"You dodged the attack. How interesting how you dodged the attack instinctively but there won't be a second time," Lamda said in an ominous voice coming out as tiny roars.

"We'll see about that," Zein said, his voice carrying a cocky edge to it.

Zein brought out a set of twin daggers from his cloak and held them in a reverse grip. He launched at the monster with a great speed causing small cracks to be seen from where he took off from. He brought down one of the daggers in a speed that caused the dagger to appear as if it blurred out of vision causing the Monster to merely raise its eyebrow in slight surprise. The monster blurred out of sight causing Zein to strike at air leaving him defenceless to a paw strike that sent him at a wall causing him to let out a groan in pain. The monster capitalised on this opportunity and delivered a relentless paw strike causing Zein to let out a groan of pain each time while getting buried deeper into the wall.

"Where has all that bravado gone?" Lamda questioned in a mocking tone.

"You said we'll see but what I can see is that you are weak," Lamda said in a mocking tone.

"I didn't want to use this but you leave me no choice," Zein said in a low chuckling but ominous voice.

"Limit release :Death," Zein said in a tone that could freeze the coldest of hells.

A blood red aura coated Zein's body and many skulls were in the aura's background before one of the skulls opened its mouth revealing a hilt of a sword which caused Zein to take the hilt pulling out a blood red broadsword which he swung at the monster at untraceable speeds. The monster had to dodge the sword as it felt something from the sword that brought about a feeling of dread. Zein swung the sword causing it to release a red arc of light while the panther released a red arc from its paw causing them to cancel each other out.

"Chrono teleport,"

A feminine voice called out causing the attacks to disappear and dust to kick up due to the path of the attacks. Numerous claps were heard and in the dust and a feminine silhouette of a human was seen.

"I think that's enough right, boys?" The feminine voice said in a voice of finality.
