Chapter 26: Omega-7 "Pandora's Box"

Léonard stepped into the containment cell of SCP-073, accompanied by O5-4 and a small entourage of Resh-1 and Alpha-1 operators. The air in the cell was thick with silence as the door slid shut behind them, the magnetic locks sealing with a faint click. The figure of SCP-073, Cain, sat at a simple metal desk, flipping through an old book. He didn't look up immediately but seemed to pause, as if sensing something different in the room.

Cain slowly raised his head, his eyes locking onto Léonard. A brief look of confusion crossed his face, followed by something unusual—an inexplicable sense of loyalty surged through him, almost instinctually. His usual calm, courteous demeanor remained intact, but for the first time in a long while, Cain felt something beyond mere detachment or respect. It was as if he had known Léonard for years, perhaps even longer, yet he couldn't place why.

Léonard exchanged a glance with O5-4, who raised an eyebrow in mild surprise. Cain set his book down and stood, offering a polite bow.

"Good day to you both," Cain said with his usual calm courtesy. "I trust this visit is of importance?"

Léonard studied Cain for a moment before speaking, feeling the weight of the decision he was about to make. "Cain," he began, his voice firm but not unfriendly. "I want to offer you a role outside this cell. Something more than sitting here in containment."

Cain's brow furrowed slightly, surprised by the suggestion. "You wish for me to leave confinement? To what end, if I may ask?"

O5-4 remained silent, curious about Léonard's next words. He had an inkling of what the young Administrator was planning, but hearing it directly would be something else entirely.

"I'm forming a new task force," Léonard continued, stepping closer. "One made up of special individuals, like yourself. People—or beings—with extraordinary abilities who can help protect the Foundation's interests. I've seen in the system... there are others, like you, who could be of great use. Together, you could form something new. Something powerful."

Cain regarded Léonard with a mix of curiosity and caution. "And you trust me, after everything that has happened?" Cain's voice held no malice, only genuine surprise. "I would be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued, but I must ask—why me?"

Léonard smiled faintly, recognizing the depth of Cain's concern. "Because I trust your judgment. And I believe that your unique talents make you more valuable than just sitting in this cell. You've seen the world, you understand people, and... I think you want to do something meaningful."

Cain was silent for a moment, processing Léonard's words. O5-4 remained silent, though the curiosity in his eyes was evident. Cain eventually nodded. "Very well," he said. "If you truly believe I can be of service, I will accept. But know that I do not take this decision lightly. I would hate to cause harm through my actions."

Léonard nodded, understanding the weight of Cain's words. "You won't be acting alone. You'll be part of something greater. And I intend to recruit others—special operatives who will work alongside you."

With that, Léonard signaled to O5-4, who made a slight nod of acknowledgment. "This new task force," Léonard said, "will be called Omega-7. Its purpose will be to deal with situations that require... unusual interventions. I want you to be the first member."

Cain's expression softened. "It seems I am to have a new purpose, then. I accept, Administrator."

Léonard smiled. "Welcome to MTF Omega-7, Cain."

---

After leaving Cain's cell, Léonard made his way to the armory, where the next phase of his plan would take shape. Using the System's interface, he began selecting the best equipment available for his new operatives. He outfitted ten special agents, all handpicked from the System, equipping them with the highest-grade armor and weapons available from the Foundation's stockpile.

He went through each agent carefully, customizing their loadouts—black tactical suits reinforced with advanced ballistic protection, helmets equipped with HUD interfaces, and a variety of high-powered firearms, including the FN SCAR-H, HK416 rifles, and sidearms such as the SIG Sauer P226. The operatives would be prepared for any scenario, whether it involved combat with hostile entities or securing dangerous anomalies.

As for the commandant of Omega-7, Léonard selected a seasoned operative from the System—a man known for his unmatched tactical knowledge and leadership skills. His new commandant was equipped with an advanced combat suit, carrying the iconic Heckler & Koch MP7 as his weapon of choice, along with a sidearm that could be switched to a suppressed mode for covert operations.

Léonard stood back, looking at the profiles of his new team, reviewing their skills and abilities. With Cain as the cornerstone, Omega-7 was beginning to take form. This was only the start—more individuals with anomalous abilities would be recruited, bringing even more power and versatility to the task force.

He closed the System interface, the last screen fading away as he looked over his new task force. This was his way of ensuring the Foundation could handle any threats that came its way—whether from within or outside. Omega-7, "Pandora's Box," would be his elite unit, ready to confront any anomaly the world could throw at them.

And this was only the beginning.

---

With everything in place, Léonard prepared to leave Site-17. Omega-7 was now more than just an idea. It was reality, and Léonard felt a surge of anticipation. There was much to be done, and many challenges still ahead, but for the first time in a long while, he felt confident in the future.

As they walked out of the facility together, O5-4 glanced over at him with a smirk. "I have to admit, Léonard... this Omega-7 idea of yours might just work."

Léonard nodded with a quiet smile. "It will. Trust me."

Léonard sat quietly in the backseat of his vehicle, scrolling through social media on his phone. The convoy, composed entirely of Resh-1 operatives, moved smoothly down the road as they made their way back to Lille. After everything that had happened recently, Léonard welcomed the distraction. He kept checking the news—most of it still centered on the chaos in Paris, with articles, videos, and posts filling every corner of the internet. Messages of condolences, calls for justice, and personal accounts of the event dominated the headlines.

Léonard sighed and kept scrolling, numb to it all by now. But then, something peculiar caught his attention—a viral video from Germany. The footage was shaky, shot by someone in a crowd. A man in the center of the gathering looked... oddly familiar. His appearance was unmistakable: he looked exactly like Adolf Hitler. The crowd surrounding him seemed amused, treating him as a novelty rather than something serious.

Léonard's brow furrowed. At first, it seemed like a joke, but there was something about the man's presence that sent a chill down his spine. His resemblance to Hitler was uncanny, almost too perfect.

As Léonard watched the video, he suddenly received a notification from the System.

[Ding! You have detected SCP-2430: "Sonnenrad"]

Léonard's eyes widened as the file for SCP-2430 appeared on his screen.

[ Item #: SCP-2430

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2430 is to be monitored and apprehended upon discovery. Due to the nature of SCP-2430, special containment facilities are designated at Site-Aleph to prevent its influence from causing further public disturbances. Direct engagement should be limited to specialized personnel capable of de-escalating crowds and avoiding large-scale confrontations.

Description: SCP-2430 is a male human, identical in appearance to Adolf Hitler, former Chancellor of Nazi Germany. SCP-2430 shares the same physical traits, voice patterns, and speech mannerisms as the historical figure. Despite this, SCP-2430 is not biologically related to Hitler, and DNA analysis has shown no connection between SCP-2430 and any known descendants of Hitler.

SCP-2430 is known for its ability to attract attention, often unwittingly drawing crowds of onlookers due to its appearance. However, it does not display any direct anomalous abilities related to persuasion or influence beyond its physical likeness to Hitler. ]

---

Léonard stared at the file for a moment, feeling a wave of disbelief. This person in the video wasn't just some impersonator—it was SCP-2430, an actual anomaly. Its appearance wasn't just some fluke. SCP-2430 had the potential to cause serious disruption if left unchecked, even if it wasn't inherently dangerous or manipulative. The mere fact that it could stir emotions and memories of a dark past made it a volatile presence, especially in public spaces.

He quickly swiped to the System's alert panel, his mind already forming a plan of action.

[Ding! Tactical Team Required: SCP-2430 identified in a public area in Germany. Immediate containment recommended.]

Léonard tapped on the command menu, authorizing the deployment of a tactical team to the location. They would have to act quickly to capture SCP-2430 before the situation could escalate any further. He chose to send a specialized unit from Site-Aleph, as it was equipped with the necessary containment facilities to hold SCP-2430 securely.

As he finalized the orders, Léonard leaned back in his seat and exhaled. The situation wasn't as dire as it could have been, but it still needed to be handled delicately. SCP-2430 might not be overtly dangerous, but its existence in public was enough to cause chaos if left unchecked.

Léonard turned to the commander of Resh-1, who was sitting beside him in the vehicle. "Send word to Site-Aleph," he said. "We've located SCP-2430 in Germany. I've already dispatched a tactical team to capture it. Once they've secured him, he's to be transferred to the specialized containment unit."

The commander nodded and immediately relayed the message through his communication device. "Understood, sir. I'll make sure the team from Aleph handles the situation carefully."

Léonard returned his attention to his phone, still watching the video of SCP-2430. The crowd around the anomaly seemed blissfully unaware of the potential danger, treating the whole situation like a spectacle. A sense of unease settled in Léonard's gut—he couldn't shake the feeling that things were starting to spiral out of control. Even though SCP-2430 itself might not be a direct threat, its presence was a reminder of just how fragile the world had become.

His phone buzzed again, pulling him from his thoughts. It was another notification from the System, confirming that the tactical team had been mobilized and was en route to the location.

Léonard looked out the window as the convoy continued its journey toward Lille. He would leave this situation in the hands of the professionals for now. There were bigger things ahead for him to focus on, including the development of Omega-7 and his plans for the future.

For now, the anomaly was under control. But as always, in the world of the Foundation, there was no telling what could happen next.

Léonard couldn't help but chuckle softly to himself as he stared at the window. Shaking his head in disbelief, he muttered under his breath, "this is crazy... we got an immortal clone of Hitler before GTA-6."

The absurdity of the situation brought a brief smile to his face, even amidst the ever-present chaos of his world.

I'm super happy to see that my very first Light Novel has reached 3.5K views in just 4 days. Personally, I don't know if that's good or not compared to other Light Novels, but honestly, I don't care. As long as people enjoy my work, even if it's just one person, that's enough to give me the strength to continue this series. I plan to do a rush of 3 to 5 chapters a day until I reach chapter 50. From there, I'll release 2 to 3 chapters every day.

If you have any ideas for SCPs or new Arcs, you can contact me via email (phamtom3000@gmail.com). It can be any ideas.

Anyway, less talk, more work.

I hope you keep reading 👊."
