Our objective was clear: locate the dark elf holding the keys to the commander's prison. Alderon, despite the urgency of the situation, remained the voice of reason.
"The commander and his squad are weakened, but they're alive," he assessed with a measured calm. "We have time to plan this carefully, to avoid any rash actions that could jeopardize the mission."
He emphasized the need for stealth and precision. "We are deep within enemy territory," he reminded us, his voice low and serious. "Every move we make must be calculated, every risk assessed. We cannot afford to alert the dark elves to our presence any more than necessary."
I was with him in that regard. No way I wanted to face many dark elves who would do anything they could to kill me.
The commander gave us a hint, though, "the dark elf with the keys comes here to check on us from time to time. I think he might come here in two hours…"
