Before returning to the tavern, I decided to go talk to the captain of the guards again. He wanted to give me the letter with the seal, signed by him, which I should deliver to his brother to receive help.
Although this letter had been ready for a few days, I ended up being unable to go to him to talk, since the situation of the missing woman ended up taking up a lot of my time.
But everything worked out. I met him that night. He gave me the letter.
"Don't worry, I understand your delay," the captain said, "You did a lot for the island by ending that damned cult. Thank you, my friend."
The captain was a nice guy. We talked a little more this time, and even had a few beers together, talking about life.
After that I went back to the tavern where everyone was staying. The next day we would leave, and my absence upset the elves a bit.
