This time, we tried not to make any noises. The dragon was already moving on its own, so we were concerned that any noise would wake it up.
Because of my enhanced vision, I was able to lead the way. Julie followed closely behind me. The door I saw wasn't far from where we were, but due to our slow pace, it felt like an eternity.
The door was entirely composed of stone. It appeared thick. We paused in front of it, wondering what lay on the other side. I hoped it was the way out, and Julie agreed.
"I'll try to open it," I said. "Watch out and prepare to fight."
Julie gripped her wooden staff tightly as I opened the door. She was ready to cast a spell if an opponent approached us.
I opened the door slowly, unsure what to expect. It was a miracle to me that the door was even unlocked.
