Will was standing at the entrance of Eden. He was perplexed and looked around. He had heard that this place was gigantic with skyscrapers for pillars. A few people walked between the buildings. If one looked up and ignored the giant tree it would look like a mega city. If one looks down they would realise that the streets were made out of grass and just here and there was a small fountain. It was peaceful.
'Why am I here does this tree want me to execute his order right away? No, even the tree should know that I can't do it right now. So, what am I supposed to do? Should I just try to leave how does this work?'
Will looked around. Until now no one noticed him at least the people walking between the buildings did not seem to care about his presence. Granted they were about 20 metres away from him. Will took a step back and turned around.
'Yeah, tying anything now would be akin to suicide it's a miracle that I have not been arrested yet.'
Will walked as fast away from the tree as he could he did not have so many good experiences with trees. Yet he quickly stopped.
'Where is the exit?'
30 heavily armed guards rushed from all sides to Will and surrounded him.
"Hands up. Tell us where your membership card is and what rank you are."
Will's hand shot up in response to the angry shout.
"I don't have a membership card. I think I am currently at the weakest rank." His voice was shaking.
"We are now going to arrest you, get on your knees."
Will got on his knees and went into a trance, not believing again what was happening today. It was all too much. He just heard the voice of the guard that was arresting him. It sounded a bit like background music.
"We are arresting you by the order of Eden AG. You are accused of trespassing on the property of Eden AG. Additionally, you are suspected of vandalism and potential murder. All further information will be relayed to you by an executive officer of the Eden AG."
'Will did not even react to the accusations he was done for today. This day it was enough to break most people.
The guards lead Will away from the centre. By now everyone in the vicinity was aware of his presence. All eyes were on Will. First, the people in the hall did not know what to think. "Did someone break in?" "How would one even manage to do that?" "Isn't Eden protected by a saviour class Listener at all times?" "Yes and still here we are." They made calls and the news already reached the media.
While a lot of chaos erupted in the halls of the Eden AG, Will was being led through the vicinity. No one thought that some burglar would actually penetrate the inner heart of the building complex. So, the holding cells were a bit further away from the main hall. So the entire squad of guards marched through offices, meeting halls and even a luxury lounge because ironically that was the fastest way to the few cells of the building.
The heavily armed guards were made up of a few elite human soldiers but mostly elite Listeners. Most Listeners were of the first rank but there were two of the Hope class and even a kight class Listener. All of them wielded powerful weapons. The normal ones had long rifles while the Listeners used all kinds of different weapons. This small group looked to the normal people who worked here or resided here like warriors on a small crusade. The elite fighters scared them because the regular people here were not used to the fighters walking through the vicinity.
At most, they saw one guard walking around but not that many. All those warriors were usually stationed at the entrance of the building complex. That was the reason why it took the warriors that long to find and arrest Will.
Eventually, the group reached the cells. Will was put in a small holding cell. It was smaller than 10 square meters. There wasn't even enough room for a bed. So, the room only contained a small table and two metallic black chairs. A small and weak lamp illuminated the grey windowless room. A minute after the light was turned on it started flickering. The room was the literal definition of the word uncomfortable.
Will quickly noticed the uncomfortable environment and complimented the designer of this room.
'Nicely done, everyone would admit their crime if they had to spend enough time in here. A room that fulfils its purpose.'
The guards put him in the cell and handcuffed him to the chair with his hands on his back. Then they just left him in the cell. So, Will was stuck looking at the metal amplified door. A small window allowed the guards to keep watch over Will yet due to the handcuffs Will couldn't look out of the cell.
Will put his head on the table and closed his eyes while he let out a small groan.
'There is no way this day could have started any worse. How did I end up here? I thought after gaining a powerful ability my life would change. Hmm, I suppose in a way it changed quite a bit but in the worse direction. Just yesterday I was well on the way to becoming a teacher. In a few months, my first semester would have started. Maybe I should stop thinking about that. The uni won't accept anyway, There is no way that the uni accepts someone that was accused of breaking into an Eden entrance.'
'So, what should I do instead? It's not like I've been dead set on becoming a teacher. Maybe I can work for my parent's small business. That won't be much money but I guess it's better than nothing at least if that is still a possibility. Who knows whether this company is going to let me go? Maybe I can call someone for help. Yeah, that should be possible. That should help me to explain my position.'
Will set up straight again because of the newfound hope but almost immediately after that he let his head bang against the table again. He groaned again.
'Uhhh how am I even going to explain this situation to them?'
'Hello, I am Will. Now before you say anything let me explain really quickly that I was teleported here against my will, by the way, teleportation is possible.'
'I don't think they'll believe me that. If I tell them that I know one of their members or well knew one of their members maybe that will help. On second thought I don't think telling them something like that will help my case.'
Now Will had to wait. Hours passed. Will had to call out to the guards because he started to get thirsty. They did not respond. Will had not drunk anything during the whole day. His head started to hurt a while ago but this situation now was akin to torture.
He thought that at least he was lucky in some regard. Because he had not consumed anything over the last hours, he also did not have to defecate or take a piss. In that case he would have to sit in his own shit while having to suffer through this torture.
The guards never responded so Will gave up after a couple of tries to conserve energy. A few more hours passed while Will was suffering until finally, the metallic door opened.
