The golden orb floated thoughtfully before the three system panels, each representing a different category of race.
[Choose a category for your new race:]
[Humanoids: Basic type, comprised of humans, dwarves, wood elves, and the like.]
[Demihumans: They tend to be ugly but possess superior attributes compared to humanoids. Examples include goblins, beastmen, ogres, and so on.]
[Hetromorphic: These races have monstrous abilities. While their stats are generally higher than those of other races, they also possess various drawbacks.]
"Interesting. So basically, humanoids are the weakest. Now, this is a hard choice to make."
Floating still, silence filled the empty white space as Arthur paused, contemplating his situation. What exactly was going on?
He had died, and now some strange system, with an AI-sounding voice, was demanding that he create his own race.
Could things get any more bizarre?
His knowledge of isekai and system tropes was limited, he had thought they were just popular themes in fiction, something teenagers enjoyed. But he had indeed read a few long ago before his life had become a hellish cycle of training, trauma, and revenge.
Now that he looked back, those stories were certainly quite entertaining.
As he was lost in thought, a system prompt appeared before him, pulling him back to the present:
[Host, if you have any confusion related to races or lack certain knowledge you need to make a choice, you can ask questions...]
"I indeed have some,"
Arthur muttered, the golden orb moving around the empty space as he gazed upon the examples of humanoid races displayed just behind the explanation panel.
The first example was just a regular human, though far more attractive than any model Arthur had seen back on Earth. "New world's standards are quite high," he muttered, moving forward to the next example.
The next was another human-like figure, even more beautiful, but with one key difference: a pair of long, pointed ears.
An Elf?
He paused for a moment, recalling what little he knew. In the stories he'd consumed, elves were supposed to be much stronger than other races. And yet, here they were classified as the weakest? Weaker than a goblin, even?
"So in Welhemheim, goblins are supposed to be stronger than a fucking elf?"
Arthur couldn't help but feel incredulous. Though Arthur's beliefs were based on fiction, the idea that goblins were weaker than other races was an unwritten rule—a belief every single story had shown.
[In terms of attributes and stats, goblins are indeed superior, but they lack any form of intelligence, driven purely by greed. Hence, they are usually hunted by humans and elves.]
"Like tigers and humans then," Arthur concluded. "Tigers are much stronger and more muscular than humans, yet we're the ones who keep them in cages."
So based on this one thing can be deduced: "So humanoids are more of an intellectual race type,"
[Generally speaking, yes. Humanoids generally possess higher intelligence than most species out there. However, there are exceptions, like Dragons and Demons—both of which are Heteromorphic. Additionally, there are ancient races like Dryads, who surpass Humanoids in knowledge.]
Dryads…
It took Arthur a few moments to recall... Yes, he had indeed read about those female nature spirits.
"So, logically speaking, Humanoids are the worst option. If I can't surpass humans with sheer might, their greed will never allow other humanoid races to flourish. By their nature, they would more likely enslave us."
Being human himself or an ex-human you can say, he exactly knew how dangerous human greed was.
And moreover, his knowledge of fantasy was limited, and he could only remember the popular races: dragons, demons, dryads, Vampire—creatures that were already present here.
He couldn't just remake those…
"It has to be something new, something better. An existence that would be considered superior among many races in Welhemheim."
Demihumans or heteromorphs.
So those were the choices left,
If he was going to choose an uglier form anyway, why not pick the stronger one?
"I choose Heteromorphic."
[Host, say 'yes' if you confirm your choice. There is no way to revert back.]
"Yes!"

For a moment, the floating blue panel in front of the golden orb disappeared, only to be replaced by several green panels, each displaying different sets of information.
They surrounded the orb from all sides.
[Host, you can now create your race from scratch using the Creator's Lab. You can utilize templates that show the attributes and traits of various heteromorphic races and modify them as you wish.]
[The appearance of your race will be based on your imagination. However, you won't be able to replicate any existing race.]
[Once the race is successfully created, a weakness will be added as a penalty for choosing the heteromorphic type, to maintain nature's balance.]
Fuck!
"How can I forgot about the penalty? Tsk! But it makes sense—they can't just let me create the most overpowered race."
Duh
The golden orb one by one goes through every single displayed temple, noting every trait and attribute that caught his interest while learning the patterns of weaknesses associated with those races.
Let's say:
If the core power of a specific race was harnessing darkness, their weakness was typically something related to the divine.
If it was a long lifespan, then their weakness was a low reproduction rate.
If they had power over laws like gravity, their weaknesses were random and often far more brutal.
"So the law is the most supreme… and yet the most dangerous."
…
And so, what felt like an eternity passed in that timeless zone.
"My masterpiece is finally complete,"
