In order to synchronize Jessy's daily routine with his own, Fars controlled her eating and sleeping schedules. After some time, Jessy adapted to this lifestyle of waking up at night and accompanying him during the day. Having not seen sunlight for an extended period, the darkness of the room no longer affected her as much.
Fars provided Jessy with ample food and drink, which resulted in her being overly energetic. It was hard to imagine anyone being tied up all day and well-fed without developing other thoughts. Jessy was a clever girl, and now that she was regaining her strength, a mere rope wouldn't be enough to hold her. However, she understood that if she broke free, the wicked vampire would certainly be on high alert. Thus, she chose her moments to attempt escape when Fars was in a good mood and somewhat careless. While her attempts might not always succeed, the thought of resigning herself to her fate was even more unbearable.
Having to remain vigilant against Jessy kept Fars on his toes, sharpening his instincts for danger. More than once, he managed to preempt her attempts before she could act. However, allowing her to continue this behavior was not an option. To instill some discipline, Fars would draw blood from her every couple of days, and if she showed any signs of rebellion, he would take an extra sip as punishment, often dragging her to bed for a thorough ravishing. Perhaps the sensation of being fed upon had become addictive for Jessy, as she found herself wanting to "try" it every day. This put Fars in a difficult position; aside from using some lewd language to provoke her, he had to control his own desires, limiting himself to feeding every two days at most.
Doubting whether Jessy had truly resigned herself to her fate, Fars once took her out hunting and deliberately gave her a chance to escape. To his surprise, she didn't even attempt it. Perhaps the impression he had made on her the night he captured her was too profound. Fars found himself torn between feeling relieved and worrying that Jessy was simply biding her time.
This uncertainty hung over him like a sword poised to drop. Jessy's current behavior was quite satisfactory to Fars, and her impressive skills even tempted him to indulge in her cooking. He often took her to a small cabin he was building in the countryside. While Fars worked hard on the construction, Jessy would frolic in the cold pool nearby, and this tranquility made them feel a sense of connection. Perhaps after being alone for so long, they had grown attached to each other.
Fars was astonished to discover that Jessy, despite her humble origins, was far better at woodworking than he was. Watching him clumsily carve planks and handle timber was unbearable for her. Skeptical that a woman could do such work, Fars challenged her to try, and the results exceeded his expectations. True to her skills as an archer, Jessy wielded a sword with remarkable proficiency, effortlessly splitting large logs, leaving Fars feeling somewhat embarrassed.
Afterward, Jessy mockingly teased her master, the great Fars, a vampire mage who couldn't even chop wood properly. This infuriated Fars, who promptly pinned Jessy down to assert his authority as her master.
Fars acknowledged his lack of skill in this area, and since he had a capable expert at hand, he entrusted all the woodworking to Jessy. This led to Fars swimming in the water while Jessy stomped her feet in frustration, cursing him for not treating her like a proper captive and lacking any gentlemanly demeanor.
"Who needs to be a gentleman?" Fars retorted, justifying his stance. "I'm the one who works hard to keep you fed, and now you're complaining about doing some chores as my servant?" Each time Jessy's frustrations boiled over, they were met with ruthless suppression.
With Jessy's expertise, the cabin was completed in just over ten days. Fars had spent a month alone, felling countless trees but achieving little. Jessy, skilled with her hands, crafted some simple furniture from the wood and even made a long bench outside the cabin by the cold pool, allowing them to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
With everything in place, Fars began the process of moving in. It was an easy task; he simply packed up the blanket from the bedroom. However, he felt a pang of reluctance to leave behind the experimental table where he had experienced countless firsts after becoming a vampire. But moving such a large table through the dense forest was impractical. Even if Fars could lift it, the thick trees would make transporting it a daunting task, likely taking years to move it even a hundred miles away to the cold pool. Initially, he considered cutting it into pieces to fit into his ring, but he underestimated the hardness of the wood. Even with all his strength, his sword left no mark on it. He let Jessy try as well, but with a weapon in hand and Fars urging her to use all her strength, her first swing predictably aimed at him.
Once again, Fars pushed the forgetful Jessy down onto the table that had taken her innocence. This time, after their passionate encounter, Fars completely abandoned the idea of moving the table. After all, it wouldn't run away, and he would undoubtedly return to relive those memories with Jessy. With renewed energy, he carried the rebellious Jessy back to the cabin, finally seeking refuge in the cold pool to recover his strength. Jessy, having been thoroughly exhausted, was not bound this time; the ropes no longer restrained her, serving merely as a reminder of her current status.
Fars had tried using his enchanting gaze to further seduce Jessy, but after several failed attempts, she began to grow wary. Yet, in Fars's eyes, she still had no rights and remained a pitiful experiment. After countless failures, Fars finally grasped some nuances of his enchantment, realizing that timing and the right environment were crucial. However, Jessy's preparedness made it challenging for him, leading to many more failures.
In this territory, now recognized as Fars's domain, a newly built cabin welcomed its creator and owner. The interior was simple, with bare walls and exposed wood grain, giving the place a rustic feel. Aside from two chairs and a large wooden table, the only fitting piece for a noble like Fars was the enormous double bed occupying half the cabin. Fars was inexplicably fond of this bed, having adorned it with blankets, pillows, and down comforters he had collected. Its only luxury was its size. Jessy, who had crafted such a large bed, was equally enthusiastic about it, as she had ample materials at her disposal. Clearly, she had no intention of sleeping on the floor anymore. Our wicked Fars, while sharing the bed with his lovely little servant, still had Jessy tied up on the floor during the day, lying on nothing but a blanket. Everyone desires a comfortable pillow to sleep on, and who wouldn't prefer a large bed over the hard ground? To ensure Fars wouldn't make her sleep on the floor again, Jessy had threatened him while working, declaring that if he forced her to sleep on the ground again, she would refuse to do any more work.
Ultimately, Fars could only concede that sleeping on the bed was a right that Jessy could not be deprived of. With both parties satisfied, Jessy moved onto the bed she had crafted herself, arranging her belongings like a true mistress and selecting a comfortable spot (far from where Fars would sleep). Fortunately, Jessy's belongings were stored in Carter's ring, and after being taken from her, they were returned to her through a series of dubious transactions, involving signing several extremely unequal agreements. These included calling Fars "master," obeying his commands without question, and attending to his daily needs. Overall, Fars had made significant progress in training Jessy; aside from her occasional rebellious thoughts of assassinating her master, she was generally compliant.
Fars still felt that Jessy wouldn't truly be devoted to him, as human lifespans and youth couldn't compare to that of a vampire. Although Fars wouldn't remain here until old age, barring any unforeseen circumstances, it would be years before he emerged from hiding. Jessy was still beautiful now, but Fars didn't want to see her grow old. He considered the idea of turning Jessy into a vampire, making her one of his kind. This would bring many benefits; not only would a blood bond create a natural affinity between them, but if she ever turned against him, she would be cursed to never be reborn. Additionally, when he eventually emerged to build his own power, he couldn't do it alone. Even the strongest individual needed loyal subordinates to delegate tasks. If he had to do everything himself, what kind of noble would he be? Despite the numerous advantages, Fars hesitated at the thought of forcing Jessy into darkness. If she willingly accepted, everything would be easier, and they could truly become a family.
However, broaching the subject was difficult. Fars sometimes tried to muster the courage to express his feelings, but upon seeing Jessy, he found himself unable to commit. Everyone knew Jessy would be unwilling to become a vampire. Though currently under Fars's control, she could still escape and return to the human world, starting anew and forgetting this unpleasant chapter of her life. But becoming a vampire meant being truly cast aside by the world. Even if she left Fars, what would that matter?
In the past, Fars had never wanted to abandon his comfortable life to become a dark creature out of fear of death. Since he couldn't force the issue, he decided to set it aside for now, hoping to find a way to communicate with Jessy later. If she truly preferred death over submission, he wouldn't force her. Forcing her transformation would be risky; her resistance could prevent her from becoming a vampire. Even if she did become one of his kind, would she listen to him? Fars genuinely wondered if he could ever truly control her.
