What is one thousand minus seven?
A simple question, but in this particular context, it becomes a nightmare – many already consider math to be torture, imagine when it is combined with real torture.
A high regeneration capacity is good, but it opens up the possibility for a lot of suffering... pull out the fingernails of an ordinary human and it will take around six months for them to regenerate, if it's toenails, it will take more than twice as long, from twelve months to eighteen months.
But take someone who is highly regenerative, someone who will regenerate these nails in minutes, which makes it possible for this particular torture to be repeated many times in a short period of time.
So here's the tip in case you become immortal one day – you can't be killed and your wounds regenerate, but you can still be arrested and tortured.
And make sure no one puts a centipede in your ear.
Returning to the subject of Touka, her worrying would be... counterproductive, would not help at all in rescuing Kaneki and could end up getting her injured because of her distraction... not that this is a real problem with her regeneration which has become even more powerful.
But if it's possible to avoid injury, who would want to get hurt? Well... the masochists.
"We've talked about this before... but I really can't help feeling guilty, after all, I wasn't able to stop it... it was my brother who took Kaneki... and I couldn't even call for help..." Touka revealed with a regretful look.
"Well, then you'll have to try twice as hard to rescue Kaneki, won't you?" Lucian smiled as he said it. Touka was certainly in need of some motivational words, and they would work better than words of comfort in the current situation.
She was probably the most determined in this team and determined people work harder. It's a pity that apart from Nishio, the rest of the team weren't very excited...
Tsukiyama had turned his addiction in another direction. Renji is a relatively indifferent person, so his will wasn't as fervent. And Lucian... he couldn't wait for something big to happen to Kaneki.
Lucian would be happy if they distributed Kaneki's kakuhou and created thousands of one–eyed ghouls.
'No! What am I thinking? A protagonist is worth a thousand extras!'
What protagonist doesn't end up on top of the world? Think for five seconds and don't answer, it was a rhetorical question.
Anyway, even with Touka's slight distraction, there were no problems, after all, the team is quite powerful and has recently strengthened itself.
But the situation changed slightly with the appearance of one individual in particular – Ayato Kirishima. People have weaknesses, and Touka's is her family, a family that has been fragmented by life's unforeseen events.
Looking at it from a certain point of view, Ayato is right, as it could be said that all this suffering was caused by a lack of power, just as anything in the world of Tokyo Ghoul could be avoided with a high enough power. But the thoughts of the Kirishima family's youngest son turned out to be too extreme.
Probably a side effect of losing his father in his youth... of course, this was amplified by the cruel nature of this world.
But now is the perfect time for them to settle their differences with a lot of violence, so that they can finally reconcile. It's going to be a beating, but it still solves the problems.
What problem in the history of mankind hasn't been solved with the use of violence? This will just be an older sister teaching her younger brother a lesson.
Previously, Ayato was more powerful and experienced in combat than Touka, living in constant struggle makes a person stronger. On the other hand, our lovely Anteiku waitress has used a "cheat" method to get stronger quickly and even if her power doesn't surpass her brother's at the moment, the stamina from her recent transformation into a demon is still enough to guarantee her victory.
Whether it's the high–speed, high–intensity combat that is typical for ukaku users, or the method of throwing rc–cell projectiles, both leave a person exhausted quickly and so a demon can easily get the upper hand. In fact, when using the method of exhausting the opponent, demons are basically invincible.
"Touka, why are you here? Did you come to save that loser from the eye patch?" Ayato asked as he approached aggressively, partially blocking the group's path.
"You can go without me, I want to sort this out myself," Touka said after looking at Ayato for a moment. For her, this fight had many complex emotional issues involved.
"Don't you want me to watch?" Lucian asked. Just as in the original work, the team split up in order to be more efficient: Uta with Tsukiyama, Yomo with Nishio and Touka with Lucian.
So... he was certainly in the mood to watch these two brothers beat each other up... no, he wanted to help Touka in case she ran into any trouble, don't doubt our dear protagonist's noble intentions.
"No... this is a family matter that I want to settle privately," Touka replied without hesitation, her voice brimming with determination.
"I see. I'll walk around then." Lucian simply nodded before heading off in any direction. Was he worried that something would happen? Of course not, even if Touka hadn't been transformed everything would turn out fine, the only change was that this time things would turn out even better.
In fact, Ayato will suffer less, after all, Kaneki won't break half his bones if Touka is okay. In short, everyone wins.
But it wasn't long before Lucian changed his path and started walking in a straight line towards Yamori's torture chamber - the place where Kaneki was tortured and underwent a transformation, the place where a powerful ghoul is defeated and left to perish and the place where Suzuya finally gets a kakuhou to make her quinque, can be said to be one of the most important places in the world of "Tokyo Ghoul", as the great forces had their "beginnings" in this place.
Of course, it can also be said that this is an exaggeration, just an excess of value given to a small building among many other dilapidated constructions. But what metric could really measure the "true" value of something? There are so many objective and subjective issues...
'I think I'm rambling too much...' But it's still true, everyone has that special object, place or person in their hearts. Feelings are really interesting, they can completely change the value of some things.
Lucian looked around, people constantly colliding with each other, blood constantly gushing out, just like a fountain. It didn't matter if it was ghoul or human, both were falling like moths drawn to fire.
Strange to think of the futility of this battle, no matter who "won", both sides would lose and even Anteiku, who had kept relatively far away, would suffer, after all, the reappearance of an SSS rank ghoul is a big problem for the CCG, especially when the ghoul in question is the infamous One-Eyed Owl.
Don't look at Manager Yoshimura's aged face and kindly features, even if he just looks like a nice old man who knows how to make coffee, he's actually one of the most powerful ghouls in the world. This is well exemplified when he practically beat up a bunch of arata-equipped investigators and we can tell that his wrinkles make his face look more menacing at times.
In short, respect your elders, otherwise there may be consequences.
