CHAPTER 17: A HELPER
After the Revelations Leon set to train Adeline with the sword on its skills and how to use her abilities to her full potential. In less than four fortnights Adeline had mastered and had learned to control her affinities to the extent of finding out new ones to which she knew not of. As she learn to control her affiliates so did her bond pet increase in abilities and the two bonded greatly over a short period. The regular visits from Lord Fleischer had reduced and so did the other nobles who visited.Having stayed in the place without going outside even on occasions when the royal family went out, Adeline grew wary of the place an so decided to sneak out of the palace. Leon trued to dissuade her from pushing through with her plans but the princess was so stubborn that her knight gave up on convincing her instead he offered to come along with which Adeline agreed . Dressed as palace servants, they went out if the palace through the southwest gate which the servants called "THE GATE OF YOKE BEARERS"... It was the feast day of Goddess Artel, the mother of the creation and as such the whole of Ghany was in uproar.
Adeline smiled from ear to ear for being able to sneak out for the third time in her life since she came to Mafte palace. She watched the jogglers as they demonstrated their skills in public. Admired all the pretty trinkets and item displayed for sale.Walking in the chaotic throng she bumped into a little girl who looked scared holding tight her teddy bare to her face. "Hello child , what are u doing all alone and by yourself?" Adeline enquired sweetly. The little girl raised her head showing her tears as she tried to tell her problem "I... I... I can't.. find my mm...ommmm...." She burst out to let her tears flow without restraint. Moved by the little girl's pain Adeline drew her into her arms trying to coax her. "Hush dear don't cry we'll help you find momma, okay" Adeline said looking up at Leon who looked back with a questioning look. Leon carried the little girl up in his arms as they walked on.
Stoping to buy some candy and apples an old lady exclaimed "Alas, what a beautiful couple you are! Do well to live happily with each other hmmm." "O no no no ma'am we aren't... We aren't a couple.." Adeline smiled shyly. "O that's a shame then, you would be the perfect together.. "the oll lady said with disappointment evidently then walked weakly over to Leon's side then git him on the arm and chided him, "you better get your cards right and marry her before some one else finds this precious one.. o young love how sweet it is, I remember my days when I fell in love with an Atlantian, it's a shame he had to be lost with the nation... O Gael..."she said as she walked away leaving Leon surprised at her chiding.
Moving through the bustling crowd of people Adeline and Leon were soon approached by a young woman with brown curly hair with a striking resemblance to the little girl in Leon's arms. Seeing Adeline the woman stood still rooted with her eyes fixed on Adeline in wonder. The little girl called out to her, run up to her as soon as she was let down. Pulling out of her faze she regained composure and hugged her daughter tightly. "Where did you wander off to? I've been looking all over for you, don't do that to mummy again okay!" She said to the little girl. Then turned her attention to the strangers ago had found her daughter, "I'm really grateful for finding my little mischief, I'm indebted to you and mind my manners, I'm Magdalen" she said looking at Adeline. "And I'm Adeline, please don't bother I just wanted to help.". "It's astounding and a pleasure your grace to meet a gem of my homeland" Magdalen said and bowed slightly. "Please come let me treat you to my services" "oo please don't bother we will just be on our way" Adeline began to reject the offer. "Please my grace I do insist I can't let this chance slip by I believe it's by the Originals doing that I met you today, please this way.. "Magdalen led on as Adeline and Leon followed.
Chapter 18.. Crystals
They walked into an antique shop with lots of weird looking things. Magdalen took them to a room as she spoke her services. She offered to read their fortune as an appreciation. Leon told of his disbelief in such things which led Adeline to tease him leaving him behind to play with the little girl who was he learnt to be Peggy. As Adeline entered she noticed the peculiar arrangements of crystal balls of all sizes and colours. The room looked dainty small with a round table in the center covered with a violet clothe, in the centre of the table rested a big glowing bluish crystal ball.
Magdalen directed Adeline to take a seat as she took a seat opposite hers. "Welcome princess Adeline, it's a blessing to have you here." Magdalen said with a broad smile. "How did you know I was a princess?" Adeline asked. "All who knows Atlantians could tell a royal blood easily.." Magdalen pointed out meekly. "You see princess I'm an Atlantian also and so is my husband who is currently away on trade. Our parents escaped before the fall of the great Atlantia" " the fall?" Adeline asked. After several moments of explaining the deal of Atlantia's fall, Magdalen had Adeline put her hand on the crystal ball with her eyes closed.
*ADELINE's VISION*
A bright star stood giving of a radiant white bright light, string enough to make one blind. A strong radiating blue star stood close by producing a shield like circle around the white star, protecting
the white star from other vicious looking stars. A red fiery star along with a green radiant star seemed to be giving support to the blue star. A fourth star, strong silver with a menacing aura hovered around the white light trying to break the circle barrier created by the blue star. Both blue and silver star clashed hard against each other until the silver star lost and then suddenly the white radiant light begun to shine brightly consuming everything around it whiles the blue star drew near to calm it down.
Adeline opened her eyes feeling tears as they trickled down her face whiles she held on to the crystal ball. Magdalen stared at her as she tried to compose herself before explaining the vision to the princess.
CHAPTER 19: THE INTERPRETATION
Adeline opened her eyes feeling tears trickling down as Magdalen stared at her. "Do you wish to understand this vision my princess?" Magdalen asked affectionately. "Please do, I would like to understand what I just saw and why am I even crying gods haa" Adeline wiped the tears off her face with a soft laugh. Magdalen looked at the innocent goddess who sat across her then started to interpret the vision.
"The white radiant star my princess is you and I suppose the strong blue star to be someone strong who will be by your side, maybe your husband who fortunately is also an Atlantian, one from the cross breed of the royals with great strength compared to the average cross breed. He will protect you from any threat or harm and he will hav the support of other Atlantians though distant but close indeed. But be warned one will come who is strong enough to challenge the blue star but will eventually lose to him. This one we speak of may be of the royal blood of Atlantia. Of all things you must beware of your strength for it has no boundaries, it can heal and destroy the world. You are the only hope for the restoration of the fallen city of Atlantia. " Stunned by this revelations Adeline sat in awe looking at Magdalen. "I.. I... I don't know what to even say.. how do I know who this people are ?" Adeline asked perplexed. Magdalen stood up and walked towards a line of crystal balls of, scanned through them picked one small portable crystal ball then gave it to Adeline.
"This will show you who they are when you come into contact with them. It has the essence of the Original himself. Please my princess keep it with you always wherever you go." Magdalen said. Both ladies talked for long then finally emerged from the room to see Leon and the little Peggy fast asleep in each other's embrace. Immediately the portable crystal ball shine a strong bright blue leaving both Adeline and Magdalen surprised. Leon roused from sleep immediately just as the crystal went dim once again. With exchange of farewells Leon and Adeline set to return to the palace for the sky had grown dark and nightfall approached soon. Adeline waited as Leon went into the stables to retrieve the horses, a sharp cry came out causing Adeline to rush in only to be hit with a force driving her unconscious. Waking up with a startle Leon scanned around trying to recollect what had happened when the fragments of being hit with a dart behind.
Leon quickly summoned Forge into the air and was soon in the trail of the attackers. Racing wildly into the woods Leon spotted two figures with another figure strapped to the horse unconscious. With a swipe of his hand, Leon sent fireballs hitting the horses to fall. Meeting up close with the attackers, Leon realized the unconscious body of the princess securely held. Face to face he stood with the attackers who looked similar driving him to conclusion of they being siblings.
CHAPTER 20 :A BRIDE FOR THE CHOSEN PRINCE
Catching up with the nappers Leon sent them somersaulting with a simple gesture of his hand. Descending from Forge he rushed towards the unconscious Adeline but was soon hit by a heavy mass of water. With a regained composure he drew his sword taking into view the nappers who fought using only magic. They would have been no match for him if he hadn't suppressed his magic in order to stay close to Adeline lest she realized who he was. The fight looked even as Leon tried to fight bought nappers with water and air affinity, opposite affinities of fire. Soon Leon had the male napper with air affinity taken out but found himself trapped in a water bubble. He struggled for air as he was lifted up into the air.
Waking up from consciousness Adeline was surprised at what she saw. Feeling weak and unable to move, Adeline looked in with mixed emotions of anger and fear of Leon dying, she gave out a loud outburst engulfing herself with a strong bright white light. The ground begun to tremble as the trees wavered angrily in unison of the awakening of the goddess. Astounded by the sight of the Atlantian princess' outburst the female napper who had Leon trapped in the water bubble let go as Leon fell onto the ground choking for air.
Without warning she was smacked with a solid mass of ice throwing her off balance into a tree bark. She fell with a groan but wasn't given an opportunity to regain herself, held up by a ring of fire strangling her to death as she choked for air. The bright light emanating from Adeline soon begun to swallow everything around her as it grew wider.
