Chapter 2 - Show of monsters

After a simple robbery, Teyat continued on his way home.

Finally, he arrived at his house, that bloody place which would bring him great tragedy.

His house was in a forest full of trees.

The place Teyat called home was a cabin where he had lived with his mother and sister since childhood.

Teyat saw a light coming from inside the cabin, and right outside the door, he saw his father's car.

Teyat suddenly felt scared because whenever he saw something related to his father, a subconscious feeling of fear filled his body.

Teyat had tried different ways to destroy the monster that caused this fear, to remove it from his life, but he had never succeeded.

He had tried reporting him to the police, killing his father, or other ways, tried, tried, tried, but he had never succeeded.

Teyat was scared and slowly walked toward the cabin.

As Teyat got closer to the cabin, he heard screams, groans, chains rattling, and some voices laughing and shouting like maniacs.

Teyat's empty, narrow eyes widened in fear and panic.

"N-no, no, no, it can't be, right? Please, don't let it be what I think," he muttered in fear.

Teyat walked toward the cabin door in fear.

He was scared... scared that something had happened to his mother and sister.

Teyat reached the door and slowly opened it.

What he saw made him stutter in shock and astonishment.

"P-please, don't let it be."

He dropped to his knees in shock, stuttering.

"P-please…"

What entered his field of view shocked him.

He saw his mother and sister, covered in blood, being beaten by two men.

The monsters playing in the show of monsters hadn't heard the little monster enter…

Teyat suddenly collapsed to the ground, wanting to stand up, wanting to save his loved ones, but it was as if his body was paralyzed. He couldn't stand up, he couldn't speak, he couldn't help…

All he could do was watch helplessly, his eyes wide open, as the monsters entertained themselves by torturing his loved ones.

At that moment, a blond man laughed psychotically and suddenly started beating Teyat's mother with long, thick iron chains, like beating an animal.

"Let's strip these whores, Roger. I'm exhausted today, I need to relax…"

He said, hitting Teyat's mother once more.

Teyat's mother was on the bed, her face covered in blood, screaming and desperately begging God for help, but it was in vain, because God had long abandoned them to their suffering and cruelly forgotten them.

But in His cruelty, He was justified.

Because when people are in trouble, they ask for help from God, but when they receive help, they forget to thank Him, because people are ungrateful, and so God's cruelty is natural.

At that moment, the bald man struck Teyat's sister violently with an iron rod and then looked at the blond man and said,

"Wait, man, ask your boss first—"

A voice from behind cut him off.

Meanwhile, Teyat's father, counting money with greed, suddenly said mockingly,

"I don't care what you do, but remember this will cost extra."

He said. Teyat was still in shock, staring at the disgusting sight of the monsters.

He couldn't speak or move, but he could think.

"What did I do to deserve all of this?"

He said… At that moment, Roger said,

"You're such a greedy man…"

And he struck Teyat's brown-haired, brown-eyed sister hard on the head with an iron rod.

Teyat's beloved sister fainted, falling to the ground as blood poured from her head.

When Teyat saw the bald man strike his sister's head with the iron rod, he felt…

He felt the deep emotion of powerlessness, of not being able to protect his loved ones.

Teyat's body had dissolved, he could feel it.

Teyat felt something in his hand.

Teyat looked down in fear and saw a tear in his hand. He saw his own tear, the one he had shed.

He shifted his gaze from his hand to his sister.

More tears came from his eyes, with a traumatic expression, and he silently muttered in pain and sorrow.

"Why?"
