After about a minute of arm circles, Joshi stopped Daro and gave the next instruction. "Alright, now you need to do leg swings. Swing your legs forward and backward, and also side to side to improve hip flexibility."
Joshi continued, "Do this movement with one leg for 20 seconds, then switch to the other leg for 20 seconds. Do you understand?"
Daro nodded confidently. "I understand, Master Joshi."
Without wasting any time, Daro immediately began the leg swings, moving his legs forward and backward, then side to side, following Joshi's instructions with full concentration.
Daro then swung his left leg for 20 seconds. Once finished, Joshi nodded in satisfaction and gave the next instruction, "Now do the Torso Twist. Rotate your torso left and right to warm up your core muscles."
"Do this for one minute. Do you understand?" Joshi asked in a firm tone.
"Yes, I understand, Master Joshi," Daro replied confidently.
Daro quickly began twisting his torso left and right, performing the movement smoothly and steadily, ensuring each twist felt perfect.
After half an hour of warming up, Daro was ready to start the actual training. Joshi placed two iron buckets filled with water in front of Daro. Beside them, there was another large bucket, also full of water.
"Your training now," Joshi said, "is to lift these two iron buckets and walk up and down the hill. At the top of the hill, I've placed an empty large bucket. Your task is to fill the bucket at the top with water from your two buckets. Then, come down and refill your buckets with water from the large one here, and go up again to fill the bucket at the top. Repeat this until the water in the large bucket here is finished. After that, you must take water from the bucket at the top, come back down, and refill this bucket. Keep doing this repeatedly."
Daro nodded, understanding Joshi's instructions.
Daro immediately lifted the two iron buckets filled with water and began climbing the hill, which was about 210 meters high. Despite the pain starting to build in his shoulders and knees, he forced himself to keep climbing. "I can..." he muttered, strengthening his resolve until he finally reached the top of the hill. After filling the empty bucket at the top with water from his two buckets, Daro headed back down to refill his buckets with water.
Each step grew heavier, but Daro refused to give up. "It hurts..." he hissed, but his determination to surpass his limits and become the strongest pushed him to keep going. After 25 minutes of the same routine, the large bucket at the top of the hill was finally empty, while the bucket at the bottom was full again.
Daro lay flat on the ground, his breath coming in gasps. "Exhausted..." he wiped the sweat pouring down his forehead, his body feeling heavy after such grueling training.
Joshi smiled faintly, noticing his student's determination. "Take a short break because there's a second training session after this," he said before walking into the temple.
Daro watched Joshi's steps with a smile. "Alright... I can really feel my strength increasing... I will become the strongest!" he said before getting up and sitting on a large rock, preparing himself for the next training session.
Joshi returned from the temple carrying a cup of green tea. "Drink this, my student," he said as he placed the cup on a flat surface of the rock.
Daro smiled warmly. "Thank you, Master!" he said, taking the cup and drinking the tea.
"This training may be tough, but the satisfaction after completing it is far greater. Don't give in to the pain; use it as motivation," Joshi said with a smile full of wisdom.
Daro listened to those words and smiled. "You're right, Master. I shouldn't give up. Even though I don't feel like giving up now, maybe in the next training session, I might. But because of your words, I'll keep the strength of heart to overcome weakness and unleash power!" he said with enthusiasm.
Joshi stood up, gesturing to Daro. "Now, let's move on to your second training," he said firmly.
After that, Joshi entered the temple and returned with a box filled with sand. "You're going to train your palms; this is called Iron Palm."
Joshi placed the box on the ground and looked at Daro seriously. "Strike your palms into the sand for 10 minutes. Do it with enough force."
Daro nodded, smiling confidently. "I think this training will be easy enough."
"Alright, let's begin!" said Daro as he started striking his palms into the sand.
Joshi sat back on the large rock, observing Daro, who was eagerly engaging in his training.
I hope he finds happines in his life after training with me for so long... I feel my time is running out... Joshi thought to himself
After a few minutes, Daro began to feel a sting in his palms. The pain started to set in, and his skin turned red. "Uh..." Daro groaned softly, but he kept forcing himself. The time was almost up, with only about 19 seconds left.
Daro finally completed his last strike into the sand. "It hurts..." he complained.
Joshi stood up and said, "Now, move on to the tree. Strike your palms against the tree for 10 minutes, as usual."
Daro paused for a moment, shocked. "…What?! Ummm, alright."
With a heavy sigh, Daro forced himself to continue. He walked towards the tree and began striking his palms against the hard tree trunk. "The longer I do this, the more my palms feel numb..." he muttered, continuing to strike with determination.
Daro kept striking the tree, feeling his palms start to go numb, with only a sharp pain spreading to the bones. Nearly 10 minutes had passed, and he began to feel extreme fatigue. "Ahhh!" Daro gritted his teeth, pushing himself to keep training despite the increasing pain.
Daro finished his last strike against the tree and exhaled. Joshi stood and approached him. "Now, move on to the gravel. Do it for 10 minutes."
Daro was shocked. "What?! Again?!"
Daro sighed. "Uh, alright..."
He smiled at Joshi, realizing the purpose. "I shouldn't be surprised. I know what I need to do."
Joshi nodded, feeling no need to say more as he was confident that Daro wouldn't give up easily.
Daro quickly moved to the area filled with gravel and began striking his palms against it. "Wow... The pain is starting to lessen..." Daro continued striking, determined to complete the 10-minute training.
After 11 minutes had passed, Daro sat on a rock next to Master Joshi. "My hands are tingling... and aching," he complained.
Joshi chuckled. "Daro, my student, you must understand, there are no results without effort. Do you get what I mean?"
Daro nodded. "Yes, Master, I understand. I will keep striving to achieve the results I desire," he said with an enthusiastic smile.
Joshi looked at Daro wisely. "Keep up the effort. Your results in the future will be great, and your journey will not be in vain. No matter how much it hurts, you must keep moving forward. Like a river's current blocked by wood, but eventually flowing again. Keep moving forward, even when pain comes."
Daro smiled, feeling his spirit ignite. "You're right, Master! I am the river's current, and I will break through the wood that blocks my path!" he said, clenching his fists.
Joshi laughed along with Daro. By then, the sky had reached midday, and Daro was finally given some time to rest.
