Chapter 42 - Chapter 37

"That was a lot of work."

I said while stretching after which I sat up from the chair. We finally finished doing all the work that was left due to Aqua's inability or her laziness.

Glancing again at what are my kids doing I noticed my, how do I call her to not offend her.... an airhead? It leaves a lot unsaid, but it fits. An airhead daughter who is puking in the corner of a tavern clearly drunk...

"Shall we go see what's up?"

"Yeah, let's go!"

I look at my husband and instantly my gaze gets blank. How did he get a plague doctor costume?

"Cringe and edgy and hell. Why do you even have it?"

"If you think that's cringe then wait for crimson demons to appear. As for why? Do you seriously expect me to act incospicoius with clearly looking like a zombie with all the bones sticking around?"

Ok, he has a point.

"But this outfit is anything but inconspicuous."

"As I said before, if anyone asks just say 'crimson demon' and everyone will understand. By the way, you might want to hide those."

What are those guys he talks about and hides?

I looked behind and noticed some big circle with some symbols behind my back floating and spinning slowly. It looks like some neat magic circle.

"The hell is this?"

He just shrugged. I am beginning to hate that I can't see his beautiful face... ehm. I mean expression, yes! Expression.

"Not an expert, but maybe some sort of symbol of status or something."

That's the only viable option, but how do I even hide it?

As soon as I thought about it it just stopped spinning and slowly got transparent before vanishing.

...

That was anticlimactic.

Ok. Let's go

....

The mortal realm was always strange to me, yet fascinating. Despite existing for what felt like an eternity, there was still something about the chaos and simplicity of mortal life that intrigued me. This particular world, however, was exceptionally odd. It was bright and colourful, yet almost absurd in its dynamics. It almost seemed to mock the laws of existence, yet here it was, thriving in its own eccentric way.

I stood beside my husband in the shadows of an alley, observing the small adventurer town bustling with life. I kept my reiatsu suppressed to the bare minimum, appearing as nothing more than an oddly dressed passerby. Even so, my zanpakuto hummed softly in its sheath, as though perturbed by the energy of this world as well as some people here and there glancing at us.

Wait. How can they see me? Is it because all of them seem to be having larger and stronger souls than the people from another world? Might be.

"Oh look, Kazuma!"

I looked at what he was pointing at.

"Are they always this chaotic?"

I muttered under my breath, watching a young man with brown hair. Kazuma, if I recalled his name correctly wasstumbling down the street with a loud, obnoxious blue-haired woman yelling at him. Aqua, our lovable... dummy daughter.

"Chaos is their nature. Though they often take it to... unique extremes. If Kazuma were to ever ascend or something, he without a doubt would become a god of chaos and well, gender equality."

I raised an eyebrow as I watched Aqua trip over her own robe while screaming at Kazuma for some minor slight. Nearby, a young girl that seems like some thief along with a blonde paladin I think? They Were standing watching the spectacle with an amused smirk.

Why is the more dependable of the two, Eris walking around like that? Even in disguise, she radiates so much energy that even Aqua would realise...

"Darkness! What are you doing here? You! Who are you and what do you want?"

...or maybe not.

I looked dryly at Tareal who tried to facepalm, but couldn't due to a bird mask getting in the way so I ignored him and looked back at the 'circus'.

It appears that Ers is that blonde girl's friend. What was her name? Darkness? Seems more like a nickname, but who am I to judge.

She was brought here to help that Kazuma to learn her steal skill. It means that this world has some kind of rpg system like we did, but more basic.

Then Darkness got horny at being treated badly by Kazuma...I don't think she is a good influence on our daughter.

"You want to go sightseeing?"

I just sighed and responded to him.

"Sure!"

As so we ignored them and went to look around. While we were getting away our movement was noticed by Eris who deducting from her wide eyes and slightly scared expression recognised us.

"Is our own daughter afraid of us?"

"Nah, She is most likely scared of a scolding for leaving work or something like that."

"True."

We just walked away, leaving behind us the noise of the 'circus'

We wandered through the town, occasionally stopping by stalls and shops to observe the local culture and technology. While it was similar to many other worlds I'd been to, it was different enough to be intriguing.

"So, is there anything in particular you want to do here?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe a tour of the local sights, perhaps?"

"Well, that sounds like fun, but there's one problem."

"Hmm? And what is that?"

"There's no real nightlife here. The closest thing is the tavern where Aqua is drinking away our hard-earned cash and the Guild where I usually do paperwork."

I just shrugged.

"Well, a tour of the city will be fine as well. We can always visit a tavern after that. "

"Sounds good."

I glanced back towards the main street, spotting a familiar brown-headed loli and a silver-white-haired elf.

"Looks like Chris and the explosive loli are headed our way. Do you think we should wait for them, or keep moving?"

I frowned.

" I'd rather not interact with that stupid group if it's possible for now. As soon as we do will be brought to the bullshit they usually get into. Other than Eris, she is a good girl."

"Agreed. They have their own lives and their own issues. No need to get involved."

I nodded, turning away from the approaching girls and heading down a side alley.

"Anywhere in particular you want to go first? Or should we just walk and see where we end up?"

I thought about it for a moment.

"How about the guild?"

"Sure. Let's go."

He grabbed my hand, leading me through the alleys and streets. On the way, he stopped us showing me some sort of a shop.

"What's up?"

"In there is a very... how do I say it. Inept at business lich, that left demon king's army and now resides here."

Eh, really.

"Wait, then why do I not feel uncomfortable in her presence?"

"No idea. Should we check?"

"No, let's just leave her be for now."

He nodded and led me away, to the guild.

We finally got there. It's a bit shabby, looks more like a tavern rather than a guild but I'm guessing this is just because it's a small town.

We got inside and let's just say that the sight was interesting. A lot of drunkards and adventurers were sitting around.

"Are you sure it's the guild rather than a bar?"

"Something like that. "

We ignored the stares of some adventurers and got to the reception.

"I'll get us a table. Feel free to order whatever."

"Thanks, honey. I'll go ahead and find a table."

I watched as my husband left the counter and started looking around the room for a table. I took a drink with the money I had....

I HAD MONEY ALL THE TIME ON ME?!

You know what, fuck it.

Once I got a very strong drinks for both of us I went back to the table. The barman looked at me weirdly most likely believeing that I will pass out drunk before even finishing the cup. Hehe. I am a professional.

And due to our nature, I am not even sure If we can get drunk to begin with.
