Chereads / Ascension of the Draconians / Information: Etherials

Information: Etherials

The [Information] chapters will be chapters that detail information about races or magic. All the information that Jackson will learn about will be left in the [Information] chapters. These chapters will be added throughout the story when Jackson learns about them. Not everything in these chapters will be in the rest of the book but the MC does know most of this stuff. This is done so you don't have to search chapters to find the needed information if you can't remember or need clarification. As more information is revealed in the book this will change as well. If something has not been added, wait I am probably adding it, or if you think that it should be added let me know and I will, if there are any inconsistencies with information please comment and ask.

Etherials: Ethereals are the 3 non-physical/non-mortal races that watch over the worlds and maintain their balance. The 3 types of Ethereals are Celestials (typically called Angels), Infernals (typically called Demons) and Spirits.

Worlds: each Ethereal race has its worlds that it lives in.

The Celestial world can be called heaven or the good afterlife religion plays a different part in that.

The Infernal World Is Hell or the Bad Afterlife. It is where sinners end up and they shall be tortured by the demons for the rest of eternity

the Spirit world is very different and has many layers and sections. It is not the afterlife and non-spirits don't usually go there. Some names for its areas are the fae-wild, Faerie, the Astral Plane and several others. Not much is known about it so information can't be listed as of right now.

Core: all Etherials have a Core, think of it as their heart.

Celestials will have it as an item that is hard to break. Their halo or weapon usually

demons will be embedded somewhere on their head or torso, always sticking slightly out of their body.

Spirits will have a crystal somewhere in the body but its location varies depending on the spirit.

By breaking the core they will die, their body will disintegrate and they will respawn in their respective world. You can kill them without breaking the core by doing enough damage before they can heal (eg. cut off the head in one swing, it's not easy and no guarantee that will work).

If you do this in time the core will remain intact and you can take it.

If you want to kill an ethereal permanently you have to go to their world and break the core there or kill them with a special weapon.

Titles/Mantles/Names: Titles are names an ethereal can have that will grant them power. The title has no limit on how many can have it. (e.g. a spirit of wind or a demon of fear).

A mantle is a special title that is passed down to a successor and can be exchanged between between. A Mantle can only be held by one Ethereal at a time. (e.g. Angel of death, keeper of secrets).

Materials can have names but most don't until they are named by someone else, name themselves or gain it on their own by ranking up or doing something that rewards them with a name.

Contracts: a contract is a deal made with an ethereal. Depending on what kind of deal is made and who it was made with, a price will have to be paid.

Below are descriptions of the typical(not universal) information of each type of Ethereal. This description details the usual behaviour, power ranking, how they gain power, contracts, and other things. This information does not apply to all types, some materials could act differently than expected.

Below are descriptions of what each does

Celestials:

Description: Celestials are the lords of order. They bring order to the world and make sure that demons don't cause too much chaos and destruction.

They keep the balance between worlds, send people to kill demons that cause too much chaos, guard ancient and powerful secrets and bestow blessings and power on those who fight against the evil in their world (what you would expect a god to do). Other than what was said here there is very little information on Celestials due to their rare appearances.

Appearance: Celestials are usually emotionless beings. They do not appear as humans with white feathered wings. Instead,d that look more like eldritch horrors (look up biblically accurate angels and you will understand)

Celestial World: not much is known about the celestial world other than some theories based on old writings and texts. The most common conception is that the celestial world has 7 sections referred to as the 7 spheres and each sphere contains its type of celestials. This is unconfirmed.

Interactions With The Mortal Worlds: Celestials rarely descend upon the mortal worlds, instead they will either watch through the eyes of people that they granted power to or create an avatar(see description below). In the rare occurrence that an angel will descend it is usually because a royal demon has entered the world and they intend to stop it.

Reproduction: It is unknown if new Celestials are created or how it is done as very little information is known about them.

Ranks/Types: very little is known about the power structure of the angels. What is known is that Celestial Gods are the highest ranked followed by the 7 archangels. After that, almost nothing is known about them. The celestials likely have a similar power ranking as demons and spirits but it is unconfirmed.

Powers: angels tend to specialize in holy/divine magic they can use this to harm undead and infernal creatures and any being that is considered truly evil.

Their holy magic can be used to heal injuries, create powerful shields or imbue holy magic into attacks to deal more damage.

Contracts: a contract made with a celestial is usually a vow. For example: you must remain a virgin, you must defend your home, save this person and protect them, and take revenge for the untimely death of the innocent.

If the contract is broken by not following the details agreed on by both parties when the person will lose all powers given to them and will never be helped by this celestial again and could sometimes end up being cursed.

Infernals:

Description: Infernals are the bringers of chaos. Demons will cause chaos, destruction and events that will awaken the power of certain individuals.

Chaos is a necessary part of life. What makes life fun is the mix of both chaos and order. Life can't continue if you don't have enough of one or the other.

CChaosis what brings the rise to Heros and gives people a reason to protect their families.

Appearance: demons greatly vary in appearance and to describe what they all look like would take too long instead the common characteristics are the following. All demons will have a red crystal embedded somewhere on their head or torso, always sticking slightly out of their body; this is their core and most will wear armour to shield it.

They typically have black or red skin, fur or scales.

Some are known to have horns and lates but not all have these.

Infernal World: the infernal world is separated into the seven rings of hell. Each ring is named after one of the seven deadly sins. Each ring is one layer above the others.

When a sinner's soul goes to the Infernal world they will be sent to the ring whose sin caused them to go to hell.

Each ring is ruled by one of the top 7 royal demons, the 7 princes of hell (if you want more information look up the seven deadly sins, not the anime).

The 7 rings and their rulers are in order from top to bottom as follows. Pride: Lucifer Wrath: Satan Gluttony: Beelzebub Greed: Mammon Lust: Asmodeus Envy: Leviathan Sloth: Belphegor.

Interactions With The Mortal Worlds: Infernals do invade/go to the mortal worlds, and the reasons for this are very. Some examples are making contracts with mortals, feeding on mortal flesh, doing the bidding of a high-ranking demon, causinge chaos, being forced to by a summoner, following details of a pact and other reasons but it isn't very common.

High-ranking demons rarely go to the mortal world and instead, send demons to do what they needto doe.

rRoyaldemons will only go to the mortal worlds for one of 3 reasons.to bring back rouge demonsthattwon'tt listen because they were summoned there or to warn people of danger. Ye, royal demons will protect mortals but only do the bare minimum.

Reproduction: new demons can be "born" from the magic or blood of powerful demons or from powerful emotions from mortals and some mortals can even become demons themselves.

Young demons are some of the weakest and most act like wild animals. As they get older they get smarter and soon will start to follow the orders of a more powerful demon and learn from them. Young demons are the main ones to kill mortals when they come to the mortal world most older demons will try to make a contract or trick people into becoming slaves.

Ranks/Types: there are 10 Ranks for Infernals, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. In each Rank there are Grades as well: Lower, Medium and High grades. a Lower Rank 1 demon is the weakest, and a High Rank 10 is the strongest.

Most demons can only reach level 7 medium rank, anything above that can only be obtained by a royal demon or a demon with a mantle or powerful title.

When it comes to comparing power it takes about 10 demons of the same power level to overpower 1 demon of the next highest level. (eg. 10 medium Rank 2 demons = 1 High Rank 2).

The reason a demon will try and increase their rank/level is that they will have a maximum power level unless they increase their rank. They can only do this when they have almost reached the peak of their current rank.

Powers: demons who are associated with an act or emotion will gain power by doing the said act or causing other people to feel said emotion. For example,e a demon of lust will gain power by sleeping with mortal races or making others lust over the demon, and no they can't gain power from other Etherials, it has to be mortals."

Contracts: demons will make a contract with people in a heartbeat but they are schemers. As a rule, when making a contract, they must be honest and can't lie (a lie by omission doesn't count).

So when making a contract with a demon ask for all details of the contract in a written form, if they say you don't need to, then they probably hid something that you don't want. Always check anyway but this is a good indicator.

Demons typically work in a transactional way asking for a payment every time that grants power. The payment would be discussed when forging the contract.

Your soul when you die is the most common one and grants the most power but it also means you will be sent to hell no matter what. Sometimes it is a flesh sacrifice, other times they will ask you to collect things. The more you are willing to give, the more power the demon can give you.

Sprits:

Description: Spirits are in between, they can be both good and bad, and most act as guides through hard times or people who lost their way. Some grant knowledge to people while others make contracts and grant magic. Other names for spirits are the Fae or neighbours but spirits are the most common name.

Appearance: spirits take on many forms, typically they will look like animals, insects or plants but some like to resemble constellations, humans or natural elements (eg. water, fire, lightning).

Many spirits take on similar appearances based on their powers and people have decided to categorize them in certain ways based on elements and what they resemble. One example would be the lightning tigers.

Spirit World: the spirit world has many parts to it and has many hidden entrances. Some locations are the Seelie and Unseelie courts inside of Faerie, The Land Of The Fae. Others are the spirit forests and the wild lands. Not many things about the spirit worlds are known other than rumours, but the ones listed here are confirmed to be partially true.

Interactions With The Mortal Worlds: the spirits are peaceful and like to help people. They act as guides and helpers to people who need it. They watch over mortals and are the main reason they can use magic.

Reproduction: spirits can be born in many ways, examples are when a mortal accepts the blessing of a powerful entity and becomes a spirit themself, born from the tears of the spirit mother, grows up in mana-rich environments, a certain location meeting certain requirements, the rumours of a spirit and many more things can cause a spirit to be born.

Ranks/Types: spirits have a similar power ranking as demons. They have 10 Ranks and have low medium and high Grades but the difference is that a High-Grade spirit is on equal footing to a low-Grade spirit of the next Rank (eg. 1 High Rank 1 spirit = 1 Low Rank 2 spirit), and it takes 15 spirits on a rank to beat a spirit of the next highest rank (ignoring the high-low rank factor stated before).

Unlike demons, a spirit can rank up from Low Grade instead of high Grade but their power in the next rank will be lower than normal (in other words a spirit can rank up from 1 to 10 in a few days but their power will be comparable to a low rank 3 spirit at most)

Powers: spirits tend to have elemental powers but the most commonly found are plant and wind-typee spirits others do exist they just don't come out that often.

Spirits that are associated with elemental powers will be limited by how much of that element is around. For example,e a spirit of water will be powerful in the middle of the ocean but almost powerless in the middle of the desert.

Contracts: spirits will help people with minor payments like food without a contract but will ask anyone with a high amount of spiritual energy or mana to make a contract with them.

Be careful when making a contract with a fae they are masters or talking around the truth and making you think they said something other than what they said.

Spirits operate with a payment system like demons but are kinder in what they ask for. Some will simply ask to feed off your mana when they help you, and others will ask for certain items. But some of the bad spirits could ask for something like your firstborn child but that is rare. Over spirits could ask for anything and can even ask for a contract like a celestial or infernal.
