"Oh," I forgot that I had a costume made for her mom for our cosplay event at ART.
"You forgot, huh?" she asked with a smirk, her expression seemed annoying.
"Yeah, I have a lot of things to do so I forgot." I lied to her, knowing she wouldn't believe me.
"Tsk! Your excuse is pretty good, huh? I know you're stressed because of what's happening to you." she mocked me.
Well, my classmates know that I'm being bullied by a rich kid. And they show it publicly.
"Hmm," I just nodded at her and handed her the payment for the costume, then she handed me the bag. Her mom only charged me 2,000 pesos for it, I don't know why (40$).
Right when I handed her the payment, our teacher, Ms. Yveth, entered. "Good morning class."
The others immediately stood up to greet Ms. Yveth back. Julie and I, and some others, didn't have to bother because we were already standing.
"Good morning Ms. Yveth," we greeted her in unison.
"Hmm, go to your assigned seats and sit down." Ms. Yveth ordered.
Ms. Yveth isn't that old, she's around 27, single, and ready to mingle. She's pretty, but her voice is a little masculine. If you don't know Ms. Yveth and you hear her speak, you'd think it's a man doing a voice impression. But she's a woman, a real woman.
"Hmm, did you make and bring your assignment today?" Ms. Yveth asked us.
"Ma'am, I forgot to bring mine, I left it at home," said Anthony, who was sitting in front of me.
'Common type of excuse, why don't you just admit you didn't do it,' I mocked him in my mind.
"So what are we going to do now, Anthony? Should I just put your grade on your house or what?" Ms. Yveth asked.
Ms. Yveth knows that Anthony didn't do the assignment, just like all of my classmates.
"Ma'am, my dog ate the notebook I used," said one of my classmates.
"See, your notebook is trash, even your dog knows where the trash is to eat from."
'Damn bars!'
The whole class went "whooo" at Ms. Yveth's bars.
"Ma'am, I..."
"Ma'am..."
"M..."
They all started giving their excuses, some here, some there.
There are 20 of us guys and 20 girls.
Out of the 20 guys, only three of us passed.
And all the girls passed.
Xyrus is the top 1 in the class.
Michael is the prince of sports.
And of course, I'm the nerdy one who will fall with just a little push.
See the difference?
While they two are like,
two giant suns fighting for the solar system, while I'm the moon stuck on the side.
"Wow? Out of 20 guys in this room, only three guys passed? Why don't you guys follow them?" Ms. Yveth compared us.
'Please ma'am, shut up, I don't want trouble. I hope they don't take out their anger on me.' I prayed to myself.
"Archie, you always pass your activities, assignments, etc., what happened, why didn't you pass this time? I didn't hear your explanation." Ms. Yveth asked Archie, who was sitting next to me.
Archie is always in the top 7 in our class, so it was a bit surprising that he didn't pass the assignment this time.
"I didn't have time, ma'am," Archie replied softly, but we all heard it.
"Okay."
'That's it? You're not going to scold him?' I asked myself. I looked around, it seemed like they were asking the same question in their minds.
"Okay, now focus. I will start a lesson now, so pay attention..."
We start at 8 am, Monday-Friday, and we end at 4 pm.
There are 8 subjects: Filipino, English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Education of Being Humanity, P.E., Arts.
Of course, our break time is 1 hour, 12 pm - 1 pm.
Kriiiing~
It's lunch time, so I went straight to the cafeteria to order my snacks. I ordered peacefully.
2 slices of pizza, 1 fried chicken leg, some broccoli on it, and a small chocolate cupcake for dessert.
Even though there were a lot of people in the cafeteria, I found a spot in the corner and went there immediately.
I usually eat alone at the four-seater table, so when I'm eating alone at the four-seater table, a lot of people look at me like I'm doing something abnormal. But I don't pay attention to those looks anymore. I guess I'm used to it, I've become numb to what's on other people's minds.
There are also other people who sit at my table when they can't find any vacant seats, they just join in. But it's okay with me, as long as they don't disturb my eating, it's no problem for me.
When I sat down, I took the slice of pizza and was about to eat it, but I felt a hand approaching my shoulder, so I didn't hesitate, I immediately moved my shoulder away from where he was about to touch it. He was surprised when I left his touch hanging.
"You managed to avoid my touch twice, huh? What now? You got spider sense now?" this guy asked while smiling, but it wasn't a real smile.
I know he's annoyed now because I accidentally avoided his intended attack again.
The students around us looked at each other and started whispering to each other.
"Isn't that Jared? He always bullies that guy, why doesn't anyone report him?"
A girl asked her companion.
"Oh my, you're new here, that's why you don't know what Jared's family can do. The last person who reported him to the principal lost an eye the next day, but nothing happened to Jared... so whenever you see him, run away immediately," she warned her companion.
Some people gasped when they heard this.
"Yo, Jared, HAHAHA, your pet is dodging your touch, oh," said one of his buddies.
"what you should do to pets who don't obey their master?" another friend of his added.
"If I were him, I'd tie him up and lock him up, then I'd pee on him, HAHAHA," another friend of Jared laughed.
They all laughed when they heard this.
I just heard what they were saying, but I just stared at Jared, it seemed like he felt good when he heard that suggestion.
"Hmm, seems like a good thing to do to a rebellious dog. HAHAHAH," Jared laughed, as did the rest of his friends.
"Are you sure you can do that?" Their laughter stopped when they heard someone say that.
"Motherfucker, who do you think you are? Don't you know us? We're the notorious 4 Heavenly Kings!"
One of them shouted, but when they turned around to see who said that, they saw a woman with short hair, like a boy, and even without lipstick, her lips were red. Although she looked like a boy, you could still see her beauty in her face.
When they saw who it was, their backs suddenly went cold, including Jared's.
"P-President Justine, h-haha, you're here, have you been here all this time?" asked one of the other guys with them.
"Notorious 4 Heavenly Kings? What kind of fucking name is that?" Another of Justine's companions suddenly appeared. His voice was masculine, but he had long hair tied up in a bun, and you could also see his beauty in his face. He looked so feminine, like he was the school's representative when it came to contests. He was also the face of the school.
"You sure know how to make trouble, Jared, Paulo, John Mark, Oliver," said one of Justine's companions, and Xyrus.
He was the tallest of the three, with a height of 5'7", while Xyrus was 5'5", Justine was 4'10", and he was the shortest, but he was in the middle of the three.
"Michael, what are you talking about trouble? Did you see me doing anything? I was just talking to our friend..Ashen," He paused for a moment before mentioning my name. But it was obvious he didn't know my name.
"Right, we're not doing anything, we're just talking," Paulo said.
"Right..."
"T..."
They started giving their own reasons, but the three of Jared's companions just looked in one direction, at Justine.
They were afraid of Justine because they had been taught how Justine fights.
They were even suspended for a month.
"Tsk tsk, just be thankful that I didn't record what you were saying, otherwise, I'd suspend you again," Justine threatened the four.
"Oh, what are you guys still doing here? Don't you know this is our spot?" (Leave this place)
Xyrus asked the four, of course, they understood that.
"Tsk tsk. You'll be ill dealth with you later after school" Jared whispered to me with his his fiercing eye as if im already dead before he leave.
I just watched them until they were out in the hallway before I stood up to leave the Student Council's spot.
In our school, we also have a quasi-government system, we call it the Supreme Student Government, or SSG for short. Many people don't like the SSG because they are very strict.
No ID at school? Off to the guidance office.
Didn't throw your trash in the right bin? Off to the guidance office.
Cutting class? Off to the guidance office.
Those are just typical examples, which is why many people dislike the SSG.
When I stood up, Justine immediately spoke.
"Asher, right? Stay with us, we need to talk." My eyes widened when I heard him ask me to stay.
I wasn't the only one who heard that, the students around me heard it too.
"O-okay," I replied timidly.
We all sat down together, Justine's two companions were next to me. Xyrus and Michael, so I know them, no, the whole school knows them.
"Do you know why I told you to stay?" Justine asked me, taking a bite of fries.
"No... did I do something wrong?" I asked her. To be honest, ever since she told me to stay, I've been thinking about what I did wrong at school, but I can't think of anything.
"We're short on members, we're here to recruit you," she answered me directly.
"Me... why?" I asked in confusion.
Anyone would be confused why I was chosen.
The requirement to be in the SSG is that you need to be fierce and aggressive, strong, especially if there's a fight between students you need a lot of strenght to stop the fight.
"I don't know. Ask Xyrus," Justine answered.
When Justine said that, I looked at Xyrus. He was about to take a bite of his burger when he stopped and put it down to explain.
"I don't know why I recommend you," he said, taking a bite of his burger.
'Huh? What are you saying? Why don't you know? Are you kidding me?' I asked in my mind.
"Just accept our offer, man," Xyrus added.
"Why? Why me?" I asked them in confusion.
"Because when it comes to intuition, Xyrus has never been wrong," this time, Michael answered while eating pizza.
"That's right. You know, while we were looking for you earlier, he said, 'I think he's in the corner where we always sit,' and then, viola! Here we are," Justine explained.
"No, what I mean is, why was I chosen? Just because of intuition?" I asked.
"I don't know, man, but I feel like if we include you in the SSG, the rules of this school will get better, and your life will get better, and you won't be bullied anymore."
"Why do you say that? I'm not bullied at school, but what about outside of schools?" 'What about Mom?'
I didn't say the last word, it was just in my mind.
"Even if it's outside school or in your family, they can't do anything because Justine's father is one of the school's biggest donors, while Michael's father is the head chief of the Bureau of Investigation.
