Leo felt Elizabeth tug at his arm, pulling him from his thoughts. "Leo, look at me!" Her voice whined, but he kept his eyes locked on Eliana and James.
"What is it?" Leo asked hoarsely, his focus never wavering from the couple on the dance floor.
"You aren't even paying attention to me!" Elizabeth pouted, clearly upset by his lack of response.
Leo's frustration bubbled to the surface, and he snapped, "I am dancing with you, aren't I? What more do you want?" His words were sharper than intended.
Elizabeth didn't seem satisfied with that answer. She pulled on his arm again, trying to force him to look at her. "But you've been staring at that girl all night, Leo. It's like she's the only one here."
Finally, Leo tore his gaze away from Eliana and James, feeling a flare of annoyance. "Elizabeth, we need to talk about the rumor you're spreading about us being engaged. I want you to stop that immediately."
