"Mate," Leo muttered under his breath.
Declan turned to face him, his brows drawing together in confusion. His arms hung loosely at his sides, fingers pointing to the ground. "What are you mumbling about?"
"Eliana is my mate," Leo declared firmly, his eyes narrowing with conviction.
Declan blinked, his eyes widening with shock. "Who is Eliana?" he asked, tilting his head.
"Eliana," Leo repeated, his tone sharp with impatience. "My maid. Eliana."
Declan's jaw dropped, and his eyes nearly popped out of his head. "Your personal maid, Eliana?" he asked, his voice laced with disbelief.
"Yes, that's what I said, isn't it?" Leo snapped, his tone turning defensive. "Why do you look so shocked? You don't think she's good enough?" His voice took on a dangerous edge, his eyes narrowing into a glare.
